Hey Jody,

I'm only new too, but welcome anyway!

Go into your USER CP, then click on EDIT SIGNATURE (on the top left section) then you'll see a little yellow box, directly above where you type stuff in. The box looks like it's got a little mountain in it. if you hover the mouse over it, it'll say 'insert image'.

Then a box will come up saying 'insert url of image'. Cut the line you put into your post (the one that comes up as a link) into this box and hit 'ok'.

Now you can preview your signature and the actual ticker should show up.

PM me if you have trouble.

Something really amazing happened tonight. My dad has a small windfall today and he bought Kentucky Fried Chickens to celebrate. ITS MY FAVOURITE FOOD. But funny enough, I don't feel the urge to eat it. I sat beside my brother (I told him to eat my share) and enjoy the smell. I guess my blood sugar must be really in balance and that's why I totally dun feel the urge to eat it. Even my mum was amazed.

Well, I've put my ticker up, I'll adjust it next Tuesday when I do my official weigh in and figures, but here it is for a start. The 6kg I've lost the hard, slow way.

Fornight, that's fantastic news! I can't wait to get to that point!

yay new number!

:D Just a quick post to say I have moved into those elusive 73s. Only by a smidgeon but still feeling pleased and motivated by it as I am getting closer to the less than 10kg to lose point.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick post today. To all the new people WELCOME, and you won't regret starting on this program. It works so well (if you stick to it 100%). What is happening with all these clinics closing down. I am getting a bit suss. First Dee Why, then Melbourne, and now WA. Maybe someone from Cohens should come on and tell us what is going on????????
The program is absolutely terrific, and it would be a real shame if there were no clinics left to service all the clients.
To whoever it was asking about the WA clinic closing, I think the clinic they have referred you to will give you all the support you have been promised. That is what has happened with all the other closed clinics anyway.
4ukids, don't be overwhelmed by 40kg. That is nothing on this program. I lost 35kg in 4 months!!!
fornight, after being on this for a while, I found that smelling the food was just as good as eating it. It was really weird.
Sorry I don't have time to do personal messages for everyone today. I always feel a bit slack when I can't acknowledge everyone who has taken the time to post. I have to go and do my banking (pay day), and my house work is getting so behind as I have a uni assignment due next week.
Have a great day everyone.
Talk to you all soon.

Sorry, forgot to mention, to whoever was asking about the ticker. I just go to ticker factory and make up your ticker. Then you copy the "BB code". Go into "user CP" and "Edit Signature". Once you are in you just scroll down to the "Edit signature" box and "paste" your signature in here and save. It will then bring it up on all your posts.
Hope this helps.

My home computer giving me problems again!!!! My bro supposed to have fixed it and this morning it just won't get connected to network again. I have to come in the office early to read the posts.

Oooh, thanks so much for the offer asyoz regarding your mum. It is very sweet. I will need to consult dressmakers, so perhaps if your mum no longer works as one, she can recommend a few to me. I might just send you a Private Message, since don't want to bore everyone here.

Cheers everyone for the 'congratulations', it is very sweet!

L-Jay I wish you well with your target...It is so interesting to hear where the weight is coming off!

the old me well done! How awesome is your weight loss - Not long to go!

Hi All,
Its so amazing to see how well you are all doing! I love seeing when you started and how much you have lost- gives me something to look forward too.
Thanks Tam82 and Ready to lose for your comments on PCOS. If funny how things work out- diagnosed with PCOS at the start of this year- found out at the info night that this program was almost designed for it..so that was very exciting- not on other medication so hoping that cohens helps. Not planning on the pregnancy things either.. want a husband before that happens.. so plenty of time to get the body back in order.
Welcome to all the new people- hehe.. im new too.... its going to be exciting to journey with other people! Need to get blood test tomorrow- so i dont suppose i will have the program before friday next week maybe.. wont wait any longer to start after i have program..ill just get in there a do it! I'm sure in a few weeks when i want some chocolate my excitment might have weened abit- just want to say for all you guys doing it already- it really helps us newbes to hear what is happening with you and what struggles you come up against... so thanks for paving the way...and sharing you experiences.

God bless

I had a feeling my weight may have gone up 1/2 kg this morning, but it hasnt, so that means its going to stay off. Yay. Now I'm feeling run down, like I'm getting the flu or something. Thats one thing I hate about trying to lose weight, I go okay for awhile then I start feeling like this. Sometimes I end up deviating, because I'm desperate for energy, and something to help me feel better, but I'm not going to do that. Finish work at 6.30pm tonight, then I'm staying put and having an early night. I want nothing to stop me from getting under 80kg. I know once I get there, I will be feeling much better.

Everyone is doing so well. I know its hard with the social side of things, but I figure I'd rather cut down on socialising in winter, get this finished and have summer bbqs and stuff to look forward to.

Fornight, I started the re-feed 2 days ago, and have lost another half a kilo so far, so all is going well.
reb , I have tried (and failed at)
weight watchers (18months lost 18kg, re-gained 24kg cost $16 per week for 18months)
sure slim (used my mums program only lasted about 1 week and seeds etc were too disgusting)
atkins (can't remember what I lost, but couldn't stick to the program long term as it became too boring. I do now, when not on Cohens, eat a lot of the Atkins brand products)
naturopath ( low carb diet, protein powders etc)(cost $600 and then each monthly would end up costing at least $150 on supplements and protein powders etc. Lost 15kg in about 3 months, re-gained about 20kg)
nu-shape (only lasted about 2 weeks)
betalife (didn't lose any weight, but this was great for dealing with my "head issues". Cost about $600 I think)
anorexia (cost nothing, lost heaps. regained even more)
bulimia (same as above. This took over when I absolutely HAD to eat, I am now blessed with rotten back teeth and I'm sure I damaged my throat as I can't eat anything spicy without my throat burning for hours after)
low GI (didn't last long enough to do any good)
soup diet (same as low GI)

I'm sure there are heaps more, but I just can't remember them all. I have nearly every diet book ever published, and the internet only made me more prone to spending money on diet products. Until I found Cohens. I really wish I had found it years ago and I would have saved myself a fortune.

Hi everyone!

Just reading through the posts and it's really interesting reading what everyone has tried. reb & LJMcan't believe how much money you guys must have gone through... it's such a shame it took us a while to find Cohens... Anyway, thought I'd add my two cents worth about what diets I have tried....

Only diet I have ever tried was Weight Watchers - 13kgs in 6 months.. put that all back on plus another 20kg. Weight Watchers is good if you're not carbohydrate sensitive as we all are.

I have always been fat, but after a while I learned to live with it. But then I got a thyroid disorder. I took radioactive iodine to kill the thyroid and am now on a daily dose of thyroxine. When I took the radioactive iodine they put me on steroids to prevent eye damage and this is when my weight became unmanageble and totally uncontrollable.... I swelled up like a balloon. Consequently I think my thyroid problem and inability to increase my metabolism like normal people (my metabolism sits in a bottle in the fridge which I take every day) has made the weight loss journey a little slower for me than everyone else. But that's another story... anyway...

Admittedly, I have always been a fussy eater and have chosen crap food over good food. Then I read "You Are What You Eat" and I kind of thought, "well if I eat a hamburger, I'm gonna look like a big fat hamburger" and decided to start to change my habits. Coincidently, the next week I went the hairdresser and the apprentice there had started Cohens and in between haircuts (10 weeks) she'd lost an amazing 20 odd kgs and she told me about the program and so luckily, this is really only the 2nd thing I have tried and the results are amazing!

I'm going to adjust my ticker tonight. Psychologically, 59kg seems just too far away. So I'm going to set it to 61kgs which is when I'll order my refeed. And then mentally I will be just like "oh well, i've reached my goal but the refeed will take a while to arrive so have to continue with this until it gets here".. Isn't it funny how the mind works and how we constantly bargain with ourselves and make deals with ourselves to make things *seem* easier? Do you guys do that with yourselves too?

Why are so many Cohen clinics closing?

To whoever it was asking about the WA clinic closing, I think the clinic they have referred you to will give you all the support you have been promised. That is what has happened with all the other closed clinics anyway.

By July 1, there will have been 8 clinics forced to close across Australia in just 3 months (The Entrance and Dee Why in NSW, all 3 in Melbourne and 3 of the 4 clinics in Perth). It looks like hundreds of clients all over Australia will have to be supported by the Booragoon Clinic.

You have every reason to be asking for answers. The franchisees took on this venture in good faith and are likewise demanding explanations (without any success so far I might add). It suggests that the reasons for the closures of each clinic are related and not a case of poor local management. Time will tell.

Good luck to you all. :)

Hi all so many new people joining up I wish you all success with your venture .

Had my big heart cat scan today and it looks all good so to me it was such a relief. But my blood pressure is still very seriously high.

Dont know what to do about it except take my medication but as far as the cohens diet goes will speak to my consultant next week, I cant see how doing this diet is causing me so much stress but I know it is.

Yes I to have tried all types of diets and how many times I joined weight watchers lost count. This is the hardest diet of them all but the one with the best results I have to admit. It works!

Cant see me giving up on it yet but just have lost my motivation at the moment where can I find it again?

We are going to Luna Park this weekend no I am not getting on the rides, but I am sure they will not be selling cohens type food there and my daughter wants to go to a pizzeria for her birthday dinner that night as well itseems like the whole world is against me at the moment.

Oh well at least I dont have the flu thing that is getting around at the moment it is really nasty.

Everyone have a great weekend Dianne

Thanks for the encouragement Dilfizzle and of course my"old partner in crime" LJay. We might have to be partners in determination now, its much safer than crime!

Not going there again (hopefully)

Okay, here's how it sits. I had a one and a half day binge and to tell you the truth i didn't really enjoy it! You'd think i'd relish each little morsel but i didn't. It wasn't as rich as i thought it would be. GOOD! Hopefully i won't return myself to that state of sabotage again. I'm on my way again. Enjoying the food. I had a version of 'tacoless tacos' this evening. Didn't have all the right ingredients but basically mince, tomato, onion in a lettuce bowl. Yummo. In between bites of vitawheats.

So now i'm doing loo dashes. The waters coming out quicker than i'm putting it in. I'm on the straight and narrow and loving it. I had mentioned previously about the virtual model? well, i've done one for my first Major goal. I'd like to be about 89kgs by my birthday (end october). I'd need to drop about 25kgs but that's only 1.5kg a week. So my future model is sitting next to my much larger one and i'm going to paste it to my fridge. Should get the motivation pumping seeing what i will look like by my birthday if i stick to this thing.

I'm really a bit concerned about all the closures. I'm hoping that Cohens will still be in operation by the time i'm ready for my refeed. Bit of a worry.

:) RJM: glad to hear that the scales are supporting your efforts. It's fantastic that they've started moving while you're on the refeed. Congratulations! You must feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel.

:) Newbies: good luck to you all! I'm only just starting out myself but i lost 3.7kg in my first week so expect great things. The great thing about this diet is that you'll be able to continually expect results (a few minor exceptions). How motivating is that?! I also have PCOS and noticed a difference in my hormonal hair (jawline etc) and breakouts. My skin was really looking fantastic. I'm getting my period now so it's a bit spotty but not as bad as usual. I'm sure my moods have been improved too. I'm on medication for depression and i haven't felt that good in ages, even the medication didn't do for me what the diet has. I guess it really is what Dr Cohen says, food becomes your medicine. So it should be! I think that's what it's there for.

Thankyou!

Hello again all,
Just a quick post to say thank you to asyoz and rjm for helping me out with regards to getting my ticker to show up in my posts. It is working now and I'm a happy chicky :D .

Please don't anyone take offense to this but I am going to try really hard not to get too addicted to this forum as I have (in the past) spent way too much time sitting at my computer on other forums...I would spend hours each day just sitting and reading and sitting and typing. At the moment I feel like I have this new lease on life, so instead of sitting on my computer, I intend to take my daughter to the park or my dog for a walk on the beach. It is so great to be able to be out and about and not feel paranoid about my weight and how I look. I'm only half way to my goal but already I feel so much more confident in myself! It is such a great feeling!

I will probably check in about once a week to see how you are all going. My next post will be after my 4-month weigh-in so hopefully I'll have some good results to share with you all...Cohen's hasn't failed me yet! Until then may you all be happy, healthy and hopeful!

Hey Jody,

You're welcome re the ticker. Don't fret about becoming addicted to this forum, there aren't that many posts, once a day or two is fine!.

In any case, your daughter and the park are much more important!

Seeya when you can drop by.
