How long does it take for you guys to receive the program after doing the blood test?

I did my blood test on Monday Morning and now is Thursday but I have not receive any call to pick up my program. I really want to start the program as soon as possible so as to lose the weight fast. I hate to call up my consultants 'coz I know they are pretty busy nowadays (they are incr the price next mth so lots of last min rush *I guess*) and I don't want to sound like so impatient (although I am impatient).

hi fornight,
I am from singapore too and I remember it took me abt 3-4 days to get my program. I think you might have to give them a call coz sometime they are just so busy that it will slip off their mind. Good luck in starting. =)

hi everyone,
have any of you cut out your crisbreads or your fruit allowance after the 10 days ? or cut them down ?

the old me you crack me up sorry couldn't help but have a giggle at what you where wearing last night boy it must be cold where you live do you live in vic ? :D

dunno!?

Hey all,

Well, i did receive my program in the post. I so thought i was being scammed and had already made actions to recover my fees. I'm really not sure what to do now because one of the motivating reasons for me signing up was that my clinic would be just around the corner, i could get the support when i needed and the monthly weigh ins would have definitely kept me going (along with the 700 bucks i paid!).

Do you know if the clinics offer discounted fees for correspondence support? If they do then maybe i can hire a personal trainer to keep me on track. I really need to be accountable to someone that doesn't love me!

Since i have the program i can do that at anytime, but if i don't resign with another clinic then i won't be able to get the refeed and i'll end up right back where i started. Help!

rjm: thanks for remembering me!

crispbread and fruit

hi reb,

i haven't cut mine down, particularly the crispbread. I have found though that I know eat them with my meals - 1 at breaky, and 2 with lunch and dinner. Sometimes i forget a piece of fruit, but mostly have one between dinner and lunch and one after dinner.

Oh and everyone, I've heard from Rosemary in WA after I emailed her this morning, she was really prompt and helpful. They are arranging for all blood test results to be forwarded to them, so we just continue to use the blood test referral forms we already have. It was great she was so prompt.

hope everyone's day is going well - mine is, I'm not at work this evening!!!;)

Reb -I've tried cutting them down (Crispbreads) but it doesn't seem to increase the loss for me - but it may for you.
Fornight - my program was available 4 working days after the tests

Hi Everyone!

How are we all going?

I have posted a question to Rosemary from the WA Location regarding the Frozen Mangoes by Sara Lee, so well see what the response is.

It might just be my mind playing tricks on me, but I honestly am feeling skinnier even if it is like 4kgs. I just put on some jeans that I have...Even though I still have a MAJOR MUFFIN TOP :D happening, I don't feel as YUCKY in them as I used too....

SO Cohen's does work if you work at it! :)

BIG CONGRATULATION MISSY-MUM on the weight loss...You go girl! *I'm like totally clicking my fingers and doing a little groove dance for you*

It was so weird tonight...I went to the shops and had people eating KFC and McDonald's in front of me, and I had no temptation for any of it! I think, knowing that all of you guys are on it with me, I kind of don't want to let the team down! There is definitely strength in numbers...

I'm off to bed now...Have to wake up early! Grrr:mad:

Hi Everyone,

The last time I posted was around five weeks ago and I was going for my blood test. Well I went and started the program on 9th May with 37Kgs to lose.

I had my official four week weigh in on Tuesday and have lost 6.9Kgs. I have to say I am a little disappointed that I did not lose more as I did not deviate and in the past have lost almost as much the first month when I have gone on Weight Watchers. I know that 6.9Kgs is still good but was hoping for at least eight or nine.

I will still stick to the plan even though I am disappointed. One thing that has surprised me on the upside is that I have not found it difficult to stick to the eating plan (prior to this I was starting a diet every few days but not staying on it).

Mumbine - you will still receive your refeeding and management guidelines because you have already paid for them. You most certainly do not need to re-enroll with another clinic.

You are already receiving support by correspondence from Perth. Make the most of it by emailing every question to think of. The more you ask, the more you will learn and the better you will be able to follow everything as you need for it to work.

Don't underestimate your ability to do this. Read and you might find the motivation you need to get going. You are doing this for yourself, not for anybody else. It's not a competition, but a journey of self-discovery, both physical and emotional. You deserve the success you are about to experience. Just take a deep breath and go for it!

Good luck!

We are not aware of any impending price rise.

Good morning

I live in Tassie REB and it is cold but not that cold. Its all me! I just seem to get cold to the core and can't warm up until I have a warm shower or get into bed with a scorching electric blanket, and even that takes quite a while to thaw me out. My feet can still be cold hours after I went to bed. I am not as bad during the day when I am moving about or if I don't allow myself to get cold in the first place however once chilled thats it. I f I sit watching Tv or whateverat night I absolutely freeze, no matter what I wear, it is just silly. I have never been this bad ever before and have lived in same town, same house, same heating for six years, so am pretty sure its the diet. Everyone complains about feeling the cold and it certainly is affecting me!

Didn't lose any weight overnight so shivering does not burn off the fat! In fact I had a slight gain! Maybe my body protecting itself with blubber. LOL I am ok with it though, that weight will be gone tomorrow or the next day! Have a good Cohen's day everyone.

WANTTOLOSE I have been exactly where you are, saying much the same thing at the end of my first few weeks. Its hard to be one of the slower ones on this forum when you see the others losing so fast. But I am so glad I have stuck with it. I have just about come to terms with the fact that this is the way MY body works and thats all there is to it. Frustrating but... I just work with what I've got. I have lost slower than many and of course I am extremely envious but I have lost consistently and better and faster than ever before and it is worth every bit of frustration. Remember the program promises rapid weight loss ( not so rapid for some!) but it doesn't promise miracles. Just stick with it and be thrilled about the 6.9. you are going well, it'll all happen. You are not alone there are quite a few of us slower ones, look at Lizzi as a great example of what can be achieved with determination and a positive attitude. Hope this doesn't sound like preaching, it wasn't meant to. Just wanted you to know that lots of us have been through the same disapointment and that you will almost certainly feel better about it as time goes by. Keep smiling and keep eating Cohen's style. Good luck. I will watch your progress with interest. Jen

Good Morning All

I am sitting here posting freezing my ass off I wish literally !! :)

Netski Sorry to hear of your loss and i wanted to say I really admire your strength to be able to stick with your plan through times of adversity.

The Old Me Glad to hear you are still doing well the little slip ups didnt have too much effect and as you said you learnt a valuable lesson. I am with you on the cold thing, I used to be one of those that never felt the cold but since I started this I have been feeling it like nothing else. It is like my bones are even cold I hate it

Dilfizzle good on you for getting straight back on track

Arowan welcome you are doing really well

Ready to lose Still a good loss after the hens day good on you you are going great

Ljay sorry to hear you had such a bad time, congratulations for staying strong throughout I think its at times like that that we realise how much we have changed and how strong we have gotten.

Missys mum brilliant effort on your first week that is greatback

Fornight Took me about 3 days to get my program I would give them a call

Reb I very rarely eat my crispbreads when I first started they were my lifeline now the only time I really eat them is if I have them with a meal like my favorite cheese and crispbread for breakfast or if I am really hungry. I dont do that to increase the loss I just find that I dont need to eat them.

Wanttolose I understand your disappointment I was to in my first month I lost 5.4 kilos and expected it to be a lot more but that is a brilliant loss don’t be disappointed be proud of yourself

Well guys I'm after some advice my best friend is returning from england next week after being gone for a year, he has organised a night out when he comes home that weekend and wants me to come out I really have to be there. I know in myself if I am honest that if I go I wont be able to resist drinking and I dont want to not go it will be such an important night. So do I go and drink and just start again the next day ?? And if I do what can I drink that will have the least impact on my weight loss ? What do I do ???????

I am SO COLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning

Hope you are all feeling wonderful this morning. One day closer to your goal weights and one day further from poor habits and negative destructive thoughts.

 REB in regards to excess skin my advise to to you would be to up your zinc supplement. I have zinc in my multi but i asked my consultant if i could take an additional one, she said it was a great idea. She did that and had such great response to her skin just jumping back she is in her 40's. I also found "BIO OIL" in the chemist. The skin responds better to oil rather than moisturiser and lotion. My friend bought me Crabtree and Evelyn Jojoba body oil-devine. Rub it into the dryest areas or the loosest areas. Feels devine. And make a routine out of pampering yourself. You deserve it! I don't always eat all my crisps but i always eat my fruit. I found no diff in cutting back but i just listen to what my body wants!

:p MajikLea- Thankyou for your compassion and positivity. Grandad loved Canasta. Your amazing contribution is much appreciated. I too am very much into cooking and i must say i really like your ideas. Keep up the amazing job and i look forward to watching your journey unfold

L-Jay Sorry that you were so sad. I'm sending you a big warm hug. I hope that whatever is going on will come to an end with a positive outcome. And remember that your friends and family will be there by your side stay strong and positive.

 MissysMum 5.4kg Wow that increadible well done. ahow great are you feeling for you amazing acheivement? I have to say organisation is the key to success on this diet. Cooking and planning ahead and never being caught n a situation which could lead to poor food choices. I'm sure your amazing successs will inspire many.

:p Arowan I LOVE SHOPPING! i havent done much of it. I've only bough a pair of pants since looseing weight i'm too scared to shop yet . I dont want to but too much anyway. I think i need to change my self image. I still picture myself as a umpa lumpa that wont look good in anything. I'm planning a trip to melbourne to shop for new clothes once i reach my goal weight

 The Old Me- For weeks now i've had the same problem i just cant get warm. I wake up several times a night to take hot showers. Sleep with multiple jumpers and heat packs. My friends call me "ice hands warm heart" rather that "sponge bob square pants" hehehehe

:( fornight sorry its taking so long to get your program. When i called my consultant i had the bloodtest on monday and the program was ready wednesday i did tell her it was urgent and i didnt even want the introduction nformation session. She was happy. She didn't even have to sell it to me i already knew i wanted to join.Give you clinic a call it wont hurt

:p dilfizzle you know what? KFC and McD's aren't tempting anymore. Well done for being so strong and so in touch with what your body needs. It needs lucious fruits, nourishing vegies and lean meat . Our bodies are more fragile than we think. For years we have neglected them and now its time to fix the damage we;ve done. Keep going and stay strong even when the smell is irresistable.

 wanttolose 6.9kg is an amzing acheivement please don't be disappointed. Be proud that you've made a move in the right diraction. So many things influence your weight loss. If i have a slow week, i cut out salt from my diet as in i dont add any to my cooking. Or maybe try a different fibre , or drink more water. There is a lot of fine tweeking you can do to make this lifestyle change YOURS. Own it make it your project and be good to yourself

To everyone else i can see you are all doing wonderfully. Thankyou to everyone for there support and encouragement.

Make sure boys and girls that you make the right choices today and tomorrow your body will thankyou for it;)

Drinks

Carrissa

From memory at weight watchers the lowerst calorie drinks were - low carb beer(Blondie) white wine, champs and red wine.
Peronally i would go and not drink, tell your friends to watch out for you so you don't slip up. Otherwise alternate drinks. One beer one diet coke one water. One beer one diet coke one water. A real friendship is invaluable but it shouldnt ever compromise your health! You do what your heart tells you. It'll be a great learning opportunity for you. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the company of great friends

Hi everyone,
I have attended the information night on Tuesday here in Parramatta and I must say that I was very impressed!!!!!!!
I am booked in to have my blood test done tomorrow, so this adds to the excitement and also to the ...... nerves.
I have looked at the sample plans but I just can't remember what group eggs fit into. Can anyone please help?

Cold

Good morning peoples...

DID someone mention the COLD... i thought it was just me but in Kalgoorlie we arn't getting Cold Cold yet but my god i am freezing... my hands are so so close to getting frost bite it's not funny... And i have to vertually sit on the heater to get any warmth...i thought this was just me but oh god i get COLD...

But on a brighter not it is so good to see all those tickers moving... I have just broken into the high 50kg mark to loose now so i am very excited that we are all doing so well... Keep up the good work... and never get down on yourself... this is not a diet but a whole lifestyle change... grasp it with both hands!

Tam

Cheers

Morning all,
Great to see all the posts. I replied yesterday but when I hit the submit button it dissapeared. I saw where others had that happen, does anyone know where it goes? Way out in cyber space, never to be seen again. Oh well I'll just have to try and remember what I said.

Just reading the last few posts about the cold and yes IT'S FREEZING. I don't normaly feel the cold but have a skivvy, and two jumpers on and still cold. Pot belly fire is crancked up but doesn't come into this room unfortunately. Oh well will just have to go a do some vacuuming or some other horrid chore.

Mumbine Have you got your programe yet? I love the "Chunky Catterpillar to Beautiful Butterfly". Good luck on this journey.

Tasm82 I asked my consultant about coming in to weigh each time and she said it wasn't really necessary, that it was up to me but she didn't say to ring or email her my weight either, so guess if I have to ring for anything I will tell her then. It's a bit like "well, you've paid now, so what more do you want".

Ready to Lose You sound like such a happy and positive person that even if you deviate you just dust yourself off and get back to it again. Right attitude is important. We all have little things that we know we shouldn't, let's be honest, so it's important that we just start back straight away.

MagicLea I come from Gelorup so we're nearly next door neighbours:) Do you have your blood done at the Harvey Hospital? My daughter goes to take blood there, you may have already met her. I had a great laugh when you said about a Cohens Calendar as I've just done one for the golf club and it was a real hoot.

Big Daddy Welcome to this incredible forum, you'll get plenty of support here, there's lots of mother hen's.:D My husband is also doing this and he's lost more weight than me, it's not fair how men lose it quicker, I guess we girls are just jealous LOL. Good luck.

rebOLOR] The supermarkets here only have small Tamar Valley yoghurt but it's flavoured, not natural. We've been having Browns Nat but my hubby has been comparing info on the pack and it seems that Browns Diet (flavoured) has less of everything than the natural. Go figure.
My skin hasn't got saggy yet after 15kg but it feels very soft, almost like babies skin. Has anyone else noticed this?

Carrissa When I go out to somewhere that drinks are being served I get a really big glass of diet coke and plenty of ice and pretend it has scotch or something in it and no one is any the wiser. Good luck and just make the best possible choices and remember that if you do deviate tomorrow is a whole new day. Good luck.

Well have been able to move my ticker 1kg so guess that's better than nothing but I'm a slow loser as well but 15kg isn't to be sneezed at. The clinic said I should be 63/58kg but I don't ever remember being that slim so I've set myself 70kg. Will wait until I get there and then may move the goal posts as it really hasnt been that hard so far.

Keep up the good work everyone and have a fabulous Cohen weekend.
