hi guys, i'm back. Not quite on the wagon yet but getting close. I fell off and have gained 6 kilos. Bummer.Trying hard to remotivate myself before summer.
I am thinking about seeing the girls at Cohens again.Although they do want an extra 45 dollars a month to extend my contract.A bit steep methinks.

Hi Suzie

Welcome back... it takes a lot to admit to yourself you have lost control, and it takes just as much to come and write it in the forums. We all understand, heck that's why where all here, and are here to support you.

You've taken the first step to regain the control. Just start anew and leave what happen in the past few days behind. Dont give it another thought because at the end of the day you cant change it anyway!

Good Luck.

Lauren

This is one of the hardest things in our lives to do. Putting weight on is so easy. It's a cinch. Taking control of our lives requires so much determination. It's only natural that there will be lots of obstacles along the way, especially our own self-sabotage (for whatever reasons!) The main thing is we pick ourselves up & move forward. It's a wonderful world & we all deserve a special place in it. Try to be positive whenever you can. Much love, Cate.

Hi Kaydidnext

I am in the same boat. And I have just introduced my own weight lost diary to lose 8kg.
We are here to support so let us know how we can help.

Goodluck:)

Hi Pasidita

Hello and welcome

None of those breads are allowed on Cohen's. Cohen's is very strict with the menu and if you join the programme you will need to take a blood test and then your own personnel diet plan will given to you made up Dr Cohen.
This Menu plan will outline all the foods you can eat.

Hope this helps some

Sam:)

hey every one, i have only 1 kg to go but taking ages its seems cos I keep mucking up on the weekends. It seems that where before I would let nothing stand inthe way of my diet, now I kep making excuses. Need to start my refeed, but wanted to get that last one off before I do. Does everyone loose more on refeed?

Carina- Hi! I lost a further 1.5kg on re-feed & dropped another .5 a couple of weeks later. I now go up or down from 68.5-70kg daily, cheers, Cate.

I also have had my refeed programme for 3 weeks but have not started it. My Cohen lady called last week (for the first time ever) to see how I was going and I told her I had not started and she said it won't workif I leave it too long. Do you think that is true. I was almost finished my 6 month contract and didn't want topay any extra as I was almost there when I ordered it. What do you all think. I can't see that it will make a difference to my refeed.

off the wagon

I was on Cohen for 6 months... i have tried so many ways to loose weight but not successful. Cohen is the most successful so far. I lost 20 kg. But i put every thing back in 6 months. Now, I have no clothes to wear, ( i threw all my fat cloths away) i have low self esteem, i am very very low now. How to go back to Cohen? i am so bloated, and i am eating my way to an early grave. I am an emotinal eater, when i am happy, i eat, sad i eat..... sigh:mad:

Hi Storm (and other who have fallen off the wagon)

Getting back into the forums is a really big step and especially with the words you are speaking.

You've done it before so you can do it again. Recall how you felt when on the program and had lost that 20kg. I truly believe that you have to choose to do a program like Cohen's not do it as a last resort. You have to choose to follow it to the letter. You have to choose not to deviate. I heard a fantastic quote the other day and it’s become my new motto ‘If you don’t make the choices, the choices will make you’. This quote reads so true to me.

I’m on a huge high at the moment because of this program but my journey so far has had it’s fair share of lows and I know life will continue to throw me curve balls long after I have finished it. I don’t pretend to know it all but this forum has so much help and support and has helped me achieve my goals so far. We’re all here for the same reason – we are here to support you when you need it.

Empower yourself, Storm!!!

I wish you good luck with your journey and hope you can get yourself back on that wagon!

Lauren

Hi Carina
Why have you not started your refeed? you're suppose to order it only when you feel that uncontrollable hunger, are you not feeling that yet? I started my refeed within a week of receiving it.

Hi Storm
Welcome back to the forum. Don't feel too bad I'm back on the programme after gaining 8kg. I went back on the programme in a modified way because I have started exercising and last Friday I lost 2kg. Once you feel that motivation to get started you won't stop,
Mine was when I tried on my size 12 shorts and they were tight......well today i fitted back into them, they are still not as loose as they were when I finished refeed but i'll get there. So keep posting here and I will help anyway I can.

Good Luck to you both

Hi there

I hope you don't mind me just butting in like this, but I have just registered with this site and am so happy to find fellow Cohen dieters!

I am in regional WA and have no clinic here, so have no support group and am desperate to find some, as I feel that this is too hard to do on your own.

I have been doing this for 4 weeks now, and tomorrow is my 4 week weigh in and blood test. I must say I was rather hoping to have lost 7kgs in the first 4weeks as i was lead to believe i probably would, but am lucky if i will lose 5. I started at 72.6kg and now weigh 68. In the last week I have only lost
400g! So a bit disappointed.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal. Is there really a weight loss cycle? If so how does it go. Does exercise make any difference to the rate of loss?

On a lighter note, I have already picked up some wonderful hints from here, such as keep cheese meals down (I was eating it regularly for lunch). Also lately I have been very hungry, but I realised this was due to the fact that I was eating apples everyday for my fruit. And on the subject of fruit, I've noticed that the apples and oranges I have been buying have been rather large, which I guess could be contributing to the slow rate of weight loss.

Well looking forward to any replies I may get

Hi Carina

my consultant said that I could or should order refeed once I reach that Cohens range. If I think I want to loose some more, and if I am not too hungry, I can sit on it for a while and continue the program until I feel ready for re-feed. It's good to have the refeed at home, so that if hunger attack strikes, you can get started.

I'd insist your consultant explain to you WHY it doesn't work if you wait too long, as mine does not seem to think that (Perth). Or email another clinic for advice....

To all fellow Cohenites in this forum!

WOW!
That's in reference to all of the activity in here this week.:jump:
I love it! :D

Hi Everyone,
Well I am ashamed to show my face here yet again after again not being able to stick with my diet. I am still tossing up about getting a new one, but realise there is nothing to stop me starting off with my old plan.

I have set a date of Monday to start all over and I hope to remain positive by posting here often.

Congratulations to those who have lost their weight and still stay on to inspire others and congratulations to those who are on their journeys.

Mysh

Hi Mysh

It is hard to stick to the cohens what with all the temptations that surround us each day. But with the right attitude and plenty of support from those around you and others doing the program, I really think you can acheive anything you set your mind to.

I'm only on week 5 and really had some struggles in the first 4 weeks, but now just seem to be in the 'groove' and it all just seems second nature now, and not so all consuming as it once was. I think it gets easier as you go along.

Just jump on this web site if you are feeling like you are going to deviate, it certainly helps.

best of luck and look forward to seeing you on here in the future.

cheers
leila

Mysh- You should never be ashamed to admit you are human. I don't know any perfect people. We are all here to support one another, not bag anyone out. Monday sounds like a good idea. All the best, cheers Cate.
Leila- I am so pleased to see you now feeling strong enough to support others. That is what I really like about the forum. We can all help & support one another. One thing I have meant to ask you is if you are breast-feeding your little baby & if so did you tell your consultant that? Well done on your positive & supportive attitude, cheers & happy losing, Cate.
