Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi Everyone,
I've now been doing the diet for 1 week and in that time the changes have been like this

first 2 days - 2.7 kg loss
3rd day - .2 gms loss
4th - 7th day - no loss
8th day - .2 gm GAIN.

I'm sticking to my plan 100%. Very disheartened :(
I have been ill with the flu the last couple of days so I'm not sure if that has done anything, but I've stuck to the diet 100% and have not taken any medications.

Myshy- Our weight fluctuates. That's why Cohen's recommend only weighing every 4 weeks. If you look at what you lost in those first few days-almost 3 kgs, isn't that great! Wow! Get off those scales (get someone to hide them!) & get out the tape measure & measure weekly. You will lose fat & weight on Cohen's without a doubt. Don't fret & don't set yourself up for failure by obsessing over the weight! Cheers, Cate.

Hi

i want to make a stir fry but i usually use oyster sauce does any one have any ideas what i can add instead?

Thanks

Chezza- I add a little balsamic vinegar just at the end. I Love the flavour of the Mazzetti balsamic! Cheers, Cate.

Hi All,

Just popping in for a quick hello and a big welcome to the newbies (your losses are fantastic so far - keep up the great work)

I havnt been around much due to work commitments and lots of interstate travel, it's good to see so many posting in here, this forum is the bestest, everybody on here is so supportive and so inspiring.

Moni/Asy: Good luck with the competition, I hope you don't mind me asking but what do you win?

Have a great 'Cohens' week all :)

OMG up another 700 grams this morning. :(:(:(

I am going to bite the bullet and get a new plan done. I dont want to waste weeks and weeks of the old 'maybe' working and then blow it if I need to get a new one. I don't want to be on the diet any longer than absolutely necessary. Sounds like there have been heaps of changes in the diet anyway, so maybe there is more of a variety than I know of now.

Myshy

MyShy, seriously, if you are going to stress over daily fluctuations then do yourself a favour and stop the daily weighing. The extra stress and disillusionment will make it a LOT harder for you to complete the program in the quickest time.

I am nearing the end after 5.5 months and during that times I have seen some big daily swings. Over 1kg in a day, then stay there for a couple before a big drop. It can be disheartening but if you dishearten easily, stop the weighing. I have even had times where I have put on weight over the course of the week, only to see the next week shed enough for two.

If you want, I can paste a link to a spreadsheet I used throughout the program tracking each days weightloss and gain. When you look at individual days, it looks like the himalayas. When you take a step back and look at the weekly or monthly details, it looks good.

I am IN!! Just sent my registration! Can't wait to start!

By the way did anybody got their diet change as a result of their second blood test?

Myshy ... you do seem to be stressing yourself out I am a newie to this and am picking up my program on Friday and I have to say if I had that result in a week I would be overjoyed I once dieted and exercised like mad and lost 5 kilos in a month. So I think you are doing really well. I will start my program on Saturday can't wait, I will weigh myself in on Saturday morning !!!!I so can't wait .....I think I remember someone on this site saying they sent their scales over to their sons house so they wouldn't weigh themselves daily I think that is a great idea as I am guilty of being disheartened to from daily weigh ins too.. so I am thinking of sending mine to my mums house she is close enough but not close enough for a daily weigh in

Hi all have not been on in a while have been busy. Well done Cate i see u have finished good on u i bet u feel great. How hard is the last lot of kg i am starting to struggle now have deviated a little that has slowed me down but i will get there.

Welcome all the new members this diet does work so stick in there.

ezzy- Hi & thank you! I'm now on re-feed which is interesting(but a little complicated). Probably the last month was at times a bit frustrating, because I was so close to re-feed. Cohen's has become a habit for me now, one I plan to stick with. I will have to keep an eye on my weight forever but I should have the know-how. Re-focus, stick with the plan & I'm sure you'll get to goal in no time at all. You are 2/3 of the way there, only 1/3 to go! Cheers, Cate.

Hi i was just wondering did anyone go try and quit smoking the same time they started the program? I know in the past I have struggled with food (ie eat more) when i have tried to quit smoking but i guess that was just me trying to occupy myself as a distraction if any one has any tips or went through it ?

Well hello everyone,
Great to see the activity and the sucesses in here!
I haven't been for a while refeed, study work family and being back at the gym are keeping me pretty well flat out at present.
This forum and the 'new you' one have really been tremendous inspiration to me over the past six months and I'm sure that reading here has helped to keep me on track................Thank you to everyone (I won't list names as I don't want to offend any that slip my memory).
I have 4days left of refeed I had an unplanned slip up and went back two days (what a goose...not enough planning let me down!!) however I am so close now and it feels great!!!!
I haven't been this weight for 20+ years and happily fit 10-12's a new experience and I love shopping even more than before!!!
I look forward to reading your continued sucesses........I will be toasting all of us when I get to drink wine on Saturday!!!!:jump:
Cheers Nonna

Newbie from Canberra

Hi all!

I have been reading this and the old forum for a few weeks now and have been very inspired! I too decided to join cohens and this wonderful forum of course! :)

I picked up my eating plan yesterday and am currently deciding when to start. I think tomorrow! The sooner the better as far as I am concerned.

I just weighed myself and am 113.7, with a target range of 53-56. So it's about 58 kilos until freedom from fat forever!

I must say I was a little bit surprised about how low my target range was. I have never ever dreamed of being this low and am a little scared about it. What do you all think about this?

Nonna & Cate- congratulations to you both for reaching your goal, you are both amazing!

Anyway, I am looking forward to sharing the journey with all of you!

Cheers

hmmmmmmmmm

Day 1 back on the program for me...im feeling excited about finishing this thing I started almost a year ago...arghh...I know that this is what I need to do and I am so glad im not alone and have you guys around for support.

Not feeling hungry today...just a bit headachy and jittery. 20 minutes until lunch time woohoo.

Im really trying to find a way to leave my old habits behind...I know once I finish the program I can never go back to eating anything and everything, and I kind of feel sad about that, but once im fit and slim it will sure be worth it! I can also use the money i would have spent on junk food on great clothes instead...now THAT is exciting!

Have a great slimmy type day everyone

Pink

Suzie- I think after you have been on Cohen's for quite a while & feel confident the giving up smokes will follow. Good luck!!
Nonna- Congratulations! Isn't it great feeling & looking healthier. I am going to love this new life! That glass of wine is a little bit further away for me but I'm getting there!
Garnet Girl- Hi, welcome to the forum & thank you! I didn't think it was possible for me to reach my goal weight & I did! I don't look skinny, but haven't looked this way since my 20's(I'm 54.) I love it! Cohen's will re-assess your goal weight when you are much further along the track if necessary. I can only say that they have been spot-on with everything with me anyway. All the best with your journey!
Pink- Don't feel sad about not eating "junk" food. Why do you think it's called that? You can do it! The thought of eating fried food makes me feel a little nauseous now so hopefully that will happen to you!
"Nothing tastes as good as slim feels."
I borrowed that quote but it has helped me all along the way. I used to say will feel! Cheers & lots of encouragement from Cate(& a xo!)

Thanks Cate...I will press on and remember that quote...Its a constant mental battle for me...But I heard that it takes 3 weeks to begin a new habit and 2 years to completley break them....Im hoping that after 3 weeks my new habits will make this journey less a mental battle every minute for me...and over the next two years after reaching my goal I will work hard hard to maintain a healthy outlook towards the rest of my life....

Hi Guy's sorry I haven't been on for a few day's it's Tax time again and i'm very busy......
Pinksultanna - your thought's are very positive and that is the way we have to think.... It's very easy to go back to our old ways....It will be very hard for us for the rest of our lives..... we must remember that in the back of our minds....I still do every day.... It's the only way I maintain my goal....

Well had better go good night all

...........THINK SLIM and YOU will be SLIM..............

Im really trying to find a way to leave my old habits behind...I know once I finish the program I can never go back to eating anything and everything, and I kind of feel sad about that,
Pink

Hey Pink, no need to be sad..eating that rubbish food made you put on weight, and that made you sad, therefore not eating it should make you happy!
I used to reward and console myself with food, now I treat myself to a manicure or massage!

Moni, sorry for the delayed reply. Thanks for your offer of trousers. I think im ok for the time being, my shape is changing so quickly that by the time they get here hopefully I will have changed again. Cohens can't be too bad if all I have to grumble about is my clothes being too big!!:rotflmao:

Well best get some sleep, gym in the morning.
Sara
