Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi all!

I have been reading this and the old forum for a few weeks now and have been very inspired! I too decided to join cohens and this wonderful forum of course! :)

I picked up my eating plan yesterday and am currently deciding when to start. I think tomorrow! The sooner the better as far as I am concerned.

I just weighed myself and am 113.7, with a target range of 53-56. So it's about 58 kilos until freedom from fat forever!

I must say I was a little bit surprised about how low my target range was. I have never ever dreamed of being this low and am a little scared about it. What do you all think about this?

Anyway, I am looking forward to sharing the journey with all of you!

Cheers

Hi Garnetgirl

Welcome. Especially nice to have another Canberran here.

So how is your first day going? I also understand that the target weight they give you is a bit scary. I am aiming for their suggestion weight, but I will see how I feel when I am closer. I'd be SO happy to be a size 12, I like having some curves.

I wish you best, the first couple of days are the hardest but the results are so worth those first hunger pains...that glass glass of wine or snacks. Its amazing the will power you discover you have....I never thought I could resist my fav foods.

Skinny thoughts.

Suzie, Good luck. If you want it bad enough it will happen. YOU are the only one who can make it happen. Think positively, very positively, especially if you are having a not so good day! Change your thought of "hopefully one day" to "DEFINITELY by x date". That is positive and you have a goal!!! I find little goals on top of the big goal helps too. It doesn't seem like such a mountain then!
If you stick with Cohens 100% there is no way you can not lose weight. but you have to stick with it!
Looking forward to hearing your progress.

I think that it's within us all to set our minds a task & to achieve it. We have to want to achieve this goal more than we want to........ eat junk food , smoke cigarettes, etc. It can be done! Cohen's works. Stick to the program, set yourself small goals & tick each one off as you attain them. I didn't put time limits on mine as that is out of our control if you are following 100%. I just mentally celebrate each milestone- into double figures, 1/4 of the way, 1/3 of the way, 1/2 way, in the 80's, etc. Enjoy the journey & feel confident, cheers, Cate.

Hi everyone, it is my first day I feell ok a little head achey and then i drink some water which helps and the crackers help to. I am just cooking dinner, I have my one teaspoon of sugar in abowl so I can used it throughout my meals. I am a salt freak! but obviously no more.. weighed in today at 94 loooking forward to it dropping.Talk again soon I must go and drink water, thank you for the encouraging words this forum mwill definatley be a massive tool to keeping my head in happy place

Suzie-
Do you mean that you only have 1 teaspoon & it's normally in your sugar bowl?
If you use lemon in your cooking it must come from your daily fruit allowance.
Yes it does mean 1 collective teaspoon of spices for the whole day.
Don't worry it's tough at the start but it gets better all the time. Make sure you get lots of sleep. It really does help. Your head-aches will go soon too. Cheers, Cate.

Hi cate,

I accidentally wrote "sugar" instead of "salt". I put my teaspoon off salt in alittle dish next to the stove top so I can use it over the day I plan on using eat when i eat my food instead of in my cooking. Thanks for confirming the lemon I may use it to flavour things to, as the teaspoon of balsamic vinegar seems so little. But I understand it will take time I know I will have to make sure I keep up my water intake I seem to really struggle when I am focusing on it and its seems a little more difficult whe its so cold.

:rotflmao: CONGRATULATIONS ON STARTING YOUR PROGRAM SUZIE

For every ltr of water you drink you should have a 1/4 level teaspoon of salt in your diet to retain some of the nutrition in your body, other wise the water will wash it out.

Suzie - you can have your fruit allowance with your meals or as a snack. You can cook with the lemon but you have to add it as a fruit allowance.
You will have your head aches for around 4 - 7 day's but only gets better.:jump:

When I was loosing my weight, I made small goals. due to the weight I had to loose, My goals were of 10 kg's lots. when I got to my goals I would go and get my nail's done or have coffee out with friends Etc...... This helped my alot to achieve those goals. I let my hair grow while I was on program and got a whole new look when I finished refeed.
I can walk down the street of my home town and no one know who I am until I speak to them. GREAT FEELING.:)

Since being in Slimming & health's Slimmer of the year top 10, I have had phone call after phone call from people that I had lost contact with to congratulate me on my success. They can not belive that it is me.... I have all my Teenage and adult life been very over weight. I would love to walk into a school reunion right now.

Ok Sorry to have gone on with all that.

Hope you all have a great day

Suzie- Go back & have another good read of your program. Under Condiments & herbs on my program it lists salt, dried herbs etc & then it has (maximum of one teaspoon collectively of all the above condiments & herbs) Then it says 1 level teaspoon of low fat mayonnaise per day. Next line is Vinegar & lists which ones. There is no mention of any quantity restrictions of vinegar. I use my vinegar in stir-fries(last minute), soup sometimes, curries &, of course salads, mixed with my mayo allowance for the day. In fact I don't know what I would have done without balsamic! At the start I read my program constantly. You'll get used to it after a little while & you'll be right, cheers, Cate.

Congratulations Cate

Hey Cate

I just posted you a congrats message but lost it somehow - oops! Just wanted to say it is awesome to see you have made goal weight - thanks again for your recipe ideas and sharing your Cohen's knowledge.

Congrats again

Mags- Thank you for your congrat's! It always makes me feel really good when I get encouragement & I love helping others whenever I can. I can only be positive about Cohen's because I am constantly amazed at what has happened to me this year! I'll keep an eye on your ticker! Cheers, Cate.
simplyloc- 10lbs down & you haven't even started the program! That's what I call a head start! Congratulations to you with your decision to start Cohen's. I can only say that it has been one of the best decisions of my life. My tastes have changed considerably over the 6 months it has taken me to lose that 36kg's & I will make sure I don't slip back into bad habits. I feel great! Cheers, Cate.

I love this forum and so far I am enjoying the program it is day three my headaches have gone and I have prepared my breakfast lunch and dinners the night before which made it real easy for me at work today as I was there til 9 pm.... happy slimming to all xoxoxox

Sounds like things are going well SuzieSlim! Preparation and forward planning is key! Things are going to start feeling better and better for you! I feel like I have loads of energy and I don't feel sluggish at all or bloated unlike before. I guess I was eating way too many carbs for me!
Keep it up and try not to weigh in for 4 weeks if you can, it is so worth the wait. Just concentrate on how you are feeling not what the dial says, there is a big difference!
Good Luck.
Sara

Mrs Clooney starting again

Hi everyone

I fell off the wagon and have climbed back on so thought I would say hi again.

I have managed to keep 6 kilo's off so have not done too bad although i am totally disgusted in myself. i travel alot interstate for work and it is so hard staying in hotels etc all the time. portion control is out of the question!

anywho, my travelling has eased up a bit and i have some time to get back on track.

good luck to everyone, i hope to share your journey with you. wish me luck.

Hi Mrs Clooney,

You don't need luck but good luck anyway. Don't think of the past only think of the future. The past is gone and today is a new day, the start of a new life, A healthy life.

It must be hard having to travel all the time though. Have you tried having all your meals frozen in one of those car fridges and taking everything with you?

Maybe it might be worth a try.

You are the only one that can drive this car that DR Cohen has given you.

Thanks Moni - I fly everywhere and generally eat out so it is hard. I will get there. I waited until the travel eased up before taking the decision to start again. didn't want to put too much pressure on myself as that will only send me to the fridge for comfort!!!

Will keep you all updated.
