Hello all!
You're all still so inspiring!!
I have my refeed, but I haven't started yet. I have .7g to go till my goal of 65kg, at which weight I will start refeed. I have been really hungry at night which is the time in my past life that I would eat the most junk. We bought Easter eggs for the kids last week and I can't get them out of my head! It seems so surreal that I am nearly finished this stageof the journey. It's hard to let go of the fear that it will all come back again. HMMMMM
I am looking forward to eating more, this feeling of hunger is so strange after 4 months. I will start on Monday, gives me time to prepare on the weekend. From what you've all said it is more preparation so it will be interesting especially since my husband is now on the program!! He has lost 11 kg in a month (Grrr).
It is so good to be able to buy a size 10 off the rack and know that it looks great!! In fact some of my size 10 work pants are a little big! Yeay!!

Keep up the good work everyone!!
Katrina

Just a ticker update, was a bad month for me with a few deviations at birthday parties etc. Only lost 5.7kg
Big grats to MellyP and Nans on refeed, and FatCat you're so inspirational as always. I'll start checking here again, haven't been on in weeks.

Bubblinb,
So on your non-refeed days you just stick to your old regular program and only switch on the days they give to you correct???

one week after Cohen's

Hi everyone:)

This is my second attempt at this I don't know what occurred with the original.

Well as promised I weighed today and I have stayed steady at the 64.4kg mark. I finished Cohen's on monday so i am happy so far.;)

I have eaten pasta's, bread, rice, cashew, cheese, dried fruit, ice-cream and other non Cohen's food and my body seems okay with it so far. I have still not started any exercise only because I have hurt my back.

I hope this is helpful to some extent to those who are worried about life after Cohen's. I think the great thing is that if we do add on a few unwanted kilo's we have our programmes to fall back on for a few days to restabilise
.

Kirby - Thanks and welcome back I've had my deviations as well just get back into it and the results will start to show. 5.7kg is good for a month I only lost 2 when I deviated.

Hotmamma - Well done at getting to refeed stage there's alight at the end of the tunnle now.

Jewels - Welcome back as well and cogratulations on what you have acheived so far very inspiring.

Minnie - With refeed you have your allocated days mine was 17. You add foods from your refeed onto your normal programme. You start and continue with these days until you have completed. If you find you have added a kilo or more it is recommended to go back on your normal programme for 2 days and then take up refeed from where you left off. I hope this answers your question.

Isparkle50 and Mellyp - Let us know how you are both coping with LAC.

Well everyone that is me I hope I have shed some light on life after Cohen's -of course I am still in the early days of managing it all but I will stick with the forum because I enjoy reading the posts and learning from all here.
Everyone is so supportive and inspirational that it keeps me focused and time spent here is less time spent in the kitchen.

Have a lovely weekend all
Sam:D

Nans68 Thanks for your post. I'm so happy that everything has gone well for you this week. Reading your post is just what I needed to feel even more positive about the future.

It's only day 1 for me and I had a diet jelly as I was feeling a little peckish. I felt like I was indulging lol.

I have had a fantastic month. I've had a birthday, got to goal weight, my hubby is buying me a new car and I was taking my x hubby to court after he breached court orders and took my son from me in January and he has settled the court case before it went to a trial saving me thousands of $$$$. I'm so happy atm and I'm proud of the fact that with the stress my x put me through that I didn't deviate at all.

Sorry to carry on to you,

Hope you're all well,

Irene

Hey Katrina, we were about the same size at Cohen start point - size 16/18, are the same height - 172cm, just a year apart - I'm 32, and have the same target weight - 65kg. It's so motivating to know that size 10 clothes are a little too big for you ) I'm at size 12-14 at the moment and find it hard to imagine being a size 10! I'm definitely looking forward to being a size 8-10 :p The feeling will be sweet!

Well I Cant Wait To Share My Journey With You All I Truly Love Reading All Yours, So Until Next Time...

Hi there 4thekids....you most certainly are doing the right thing. Best of luck to you tomorrow. The first few days are hard, but stick with it and before you know it, it will be second nature and you'll be well on your way to your goal weight. Best of luck, and keep us informed on how you're going. Put a weightloss ticker in your signature to keep you motivated and start a diary for your thoughts and feelings. Trust me, it helps with the motivation and if you're ever feeling like you are going to fall off the wagon, then this website should be the first place you come to, to get you through it.....Can't wait to hear how you go with your first weigh-in..Goood luck.

Hi Minny thanks for the welcome, im so excited and cant wait. Im about to go and chop all my salad and vegies up and weigh all my meat so im prepared and have no excuses. My teenage son is sadly ashamed of me which at 13 kids can be cruel and my 3 & half yr old told me fat people arent cool and my jaw hit the ground I said what do you mean and in her words "I like straight people mummy" being a overweight person nearly all my life it really ripped my heart out.
Bye for now, Ps got the panadol handy for the detoxing LOL!

Welcome 4thekids

I hope you are doing this for you first. Hi and congrat's on joining this fabulous programme you will be astounded with the amount of weight that will literally fall off your body and when your clothes start hanging off you....well what more can I say.

Kids!!!!! my eldest said I should be on the biggest loser and this was after I had lost 6kg. So don't feel too bad they will love you whether your big or small, it just goes to show you how they are influenced by their peers and the media.

I wish you all the best and looking forward to hearing about your success's.
Take care for now.
Sam:)

4thekids - you're doing the right thing by chopping up the vegies and weighing out the meat portions. I'm about to do this for the second time since starting the program, but i go out and buy a big tray of chicken breast, lean steak and a fillet of veal steak (you know the ones - the ones that are cheaper if you buy in bulk) and when i get home, i weigh them all out, put them into little containers and pop them in the freezer with the weight written in texta on top. All of my meal 3 weights are the same (105gm) so i do them all this with maybe 5 that have a meal 2 weight, just in case i want a change from having tuna or cheese for lunch. Although i only have cheese once or twice a week. I simply pull out of the freezer after lunch what i feel like having for dinner. I still like to prepare my vegies and salad just before though, coz then it doesn't feel like a 'diet' as such coz i'm still preparing (and weighing) my meals. For my husband i just make up the vegies he likes whilst i'm preparing mine and cook up whatever piece of meat i pull out for him (which is also bought in bulk - but bigger portions, and he has pork or lamb as well).

Once you get into the swing of things you'll find it so easy.

Kids can be cruel can't they? My reason for losing the weight is so i can get pregnant and we can start our own little family. There is only so much fertility treatment you can take before recognising the fact that 'you' are the problem, the weight is a problem, in making those dreams come true.

If you've got that goal in your head, which you do, then it really helps to work towards the end result.

I can't wait to hear how your first day goes. Just go easy on the panadol...lol. You may not need it though....i didn't, but see how you go!

Welcome 4thekids

Welcome to the program!

Another tip - you might want to consider using the food processor to ground up some biscuits with seasoning so you can crumb chicken and fish for schnitzel. The crumbs can be stored in air-tight containers. Crumbed chix and fish freeze well with no defrosting required before cooking and taste great and I think your kids might like them too - it's like chicken and fish nuggets :p I sometimes keep my portion of chicken breast whole, cut a vent and sprinkle olive oil and dried parsley in there before crumbing the whole breast to make a chicken kiev Cohen-style. Both these taste great with salad...which I make from mainly baby spinach because this veg truly helps my constipation problem while on this program.

I'd avoid freezing veg because I read somewhere that doing so loses 85% of the veg's nutrients.

Windyblue...i'd be careful about the freezing of crumbed meat - you'd have to make sure it's the correct portion of cracker and that it is accounted (along with any herbs you put in) into your daily allowance. Also I'm not sure about the olive oil thing. I know on my plan i'm not allowed to have it, so you need to be careful with that too, because some people may take it that they are allowed to have it also.

Nans!!!
Thank you so much for the information that really helped me a lot I have 16days of re-feed and it looks overwhelming and confusing to me right now and like a lot of work compared to my program I was so use to...but I will get through it just have to really focus day by day where as before I was preparing my meals by the week and taking them out as needed it was wonderful...
Kiwi I would like to follow you on your re-feed as you are starting when I do although now I may wait to lose 8 more lbs as all the posts I read said go to Cohens goal you'll be much happier if you gain any weight back...
Bubblinb I lost 80 pounds and they did send me the correct re-feed days now but I may wait a bit to make sure I really know what I am doing...

Hi Minnie
More than happy to follow refeeds together, I have read mine and it is for 17 days, looks very complicated, however my daughter Lexie07 is on this journey with me and being young and computer literate she has spent some time developing a menu plan for her own refeed of 16 days, right down to developing a shopping list of what foods she needs each week:) I am impressed and I am about to ask her to do the same for me. That way we can be organised with a set menu, it's only for 2+ week, and contuine to spend Sunday afternoon organising vegtables and meat (weighed out and frozen) for the following week. PLANNING is crucial and we do not want or need to deviate in the last lap due to disorganisation. I still have 4kgs to go to be at the top end of Cohen's weight so will keep you posted as to when I start refeed.
I'm in Sydney Australia where are you ? any chance of a green tea or water :D
Regards
Diane

Morning all! I was so pumped to start and couldnt sleep sooooo didnt wake til 8.30am so a late start than expected, anyway I did a lazy style omlette in the microwave with mushies and zuchinni whollla brekky done now im sipping on my water.

Hi Irene,
Good luck with the program. I don't think diet jelly is allowed on the program - not on mine anyway!
When I started, I used to freeze Sprite Zero and have it when I was feeling antsy.
Maybe try something like that which won't upset the balance of the program.

Yay!

I broke my little slow-weight loss pattern wooppeeeee!!!!!!!!!:D Im back to a kilo a week! SO EXCITED:D :D :D

This morning i weighed in - i've decided to weigh weekly, rather than fortnightly now as im close to refeed - and i was 59.6kg, so thats 900g down in a week. Im so pleased:p . Would have been really nice to say 59.5, but beggers cant be choosers! So 3.6kg to go till i start refeed. So, fingers crossed, maybe only another 4 - 6 weeks on the program.

I recieved my refeed program earlier this week (as did mum, kiwi), and boy is there a LOT of food to eat! We received the refeed plan early, as our next blood test isnt for 8 weeks, and we will be finished by then, so my consultant saw no dramas in ordering it early. She is going on holidays for a few weeks as well, and wanted us to have it JUST IN CASE. Thats something else im looking forward to, ive started to get hunger pangs through the day, and im not satisfied after my meals anymore. In fact, on Thursday at uni my tummy started RUMBLING , it took me 5min to work out why! My tummy hasnt rumbled in 5 months! It was quite the strange feeling.

But yes, all prepared for refeed. Ive gone to the trouble to write out a detailed menu plan for myself, down to the specific types and quantities of fruits, good fruits, bad fruits, proteins, new proteins, veg, new veg, carbs and other things i will need to buy on my weekly shopping trip! So there will be no excuses for me not to be organised and rarin to go. I plan on writing one up for my mum too, but we havent had an oppurtunity to sit down with her plan yet and do the sums.

Good to see so many of you are going so well! Welcome 4thekids! Good to here about life after refeed Nans and Minny, im petrified of how im going to manage on the first day post-cohens.

WindyBlue, make sure you watch those herbs and crumbs. Herbs need to be part of your daily veg allowance, and those cracker crumbs need to be exact too...dont want an unintentional deviation. Are you allowed Olive Oil??? Im not, i just use the spray canola stuff in the fry-pan (it seems pointless to use the george with the size of meat lol:) - but its something im going to use all the time when im done).

Happy losing all!

Welcome 4thekids. This forum is great & very supportive. All the best with your program. It takes a while for it to become second nature but when it does it's much easier to follow. Being prepared is the key for me.
I started a diary just recently & put a thumbs up icon on it & would love to change it or just get rid of the icon. I've been searching & can't find a solution. Any-one know how?
My weight loss has slowed. My husband hid the scales but I found them & weighed myself this morning & have only lost 1kg in the last 12 days. I can see that I have shrunk though so won't despair!
I love this forum. I think it's stopping me boring my family with talk of the Cohen's program & the "Look my hips are shrinking!" The novelty hasn't worn off at all. I still can't quite believe what's happening to me, xo Cate.

Kiwi and Lexie07,
I would love to join you both down the path of re-feed...Kiwi I have the exact same as you still to lose before starting it...wish we could get together and discuss it all over green tea or coffee but I am in the USA and you are quite far away in Australia...I am in the state of Ohio...I have 16 days on re-feed and it looks complicated to me right now but if I am organized like I am on the program now it should be fine..I weigh and freeze all my food out on Sundays for the week..the first 3days I guess I keep the same then I begin on day 4 thru 10 then 13,14,15,20,23,24,28,29,30....so on the days your not on such as day 11 and 12 then I just remain on day 10's menu until I hit the next re-feed day 13???? is that correct Lexie07??? since your mum said you already reviewed yours..everything new is just added on to my old program I assume....lets keep each other informed if you like...

Hi Minnie

Well done on reaching refeed. I did answer your post regards this question in my last posts if would like to refer to that.
