Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
My contract is for three months.

I had assumed that the minimum was six months.

Given that I'm going to be away for six weeks during this three month period (and I mentioned that to the clinic) I thought I would definitely be up for a six month program.

Anyone else on a three month program? It seems to be a lot of pressure for me to lose 17kgs in three months, including two lots of two week exam periods AND a six week overseas jaunt.

Of course I'll speak to the clinic when they re-open - but has anyone else been in this position?

Many thanks.

CD

Hi,
I would definitely follow it up. My understanding was that they allowed 1 week per kilo and then another couple of weeks for good measure. Its entirely possible that they were writing your contract over someone elses and forgot to change that part of it!!!

:) Good Morning!

I am into my second week on Cohen's but have been reading and being inspired by your stories for a little while now and am very happy to be on the same path.

I certainly felt flat for the first few days ......but that must have been a major detox and feel better this week!

Look forward to joining you again. Happy losses! :)

Hello all

This forum is such an inspiration to me - the highs and lows!

I have just completed my first week on Cohens - and running true to Murphys Law - attended FOUR social occasions that included meals.:(

While not able to weigh, I was pretty impressed with myself that I was able to ask for entree size salads, grilled chicken and stick to what I knew my portions look like. (my digital scale is my best buddy at the mo!).;)

I even went off to the movies last night - with my crispbread allowance - bought myself a diet coke (thank god for diet coke allowance) and didn't feel deprived at all!

I know you are not supposed to weigh yourself each week - I did and was happy to see the commitment was worth it - 5 kgs!

My commitment reasoning is that I am 41 yrs old. Have been unhappy with my weight for over 20 yrs and that my sticking to 5 months to really heal the situation is not that long at all. Particularly as I plan on living at least another 40!

Blessings all!

Itsmytime - Adelaide Query

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum although i have been reading for a few months. I went on cohen in 2002. i lost 12kg in a short space of time. about 6 weeks i think. i never completed it and i currently weigh the same as i did when i started. it took me the last 4 years to regain. But my weight has been a constant struggle ever since. i have about 20 kg to lose now i think. i am getting married in november. I was wondering if there was anyone here from adelaide and how much the program now costs?
Cheers

Hello Itsmytime

I'm from Adelaide - I go to the clinic on King William Road at Hyde Park. It costs $680.00.

They are very nice there and insist on seeing you every 2 weeks to make sure we're kept on the straight and narrow :D

Kind regards

Taffy

i have read about bad hunger pangs on cohens - is this common throughout the program or isolated - perhaps due to exercise, start, end etc?

For Katydidnext - Anti Inflamatory

I am taking Natures Own flaxseed oil tablets (you can purchase from supermarket). I take one in the morning and one at lunch time. I suffer from a bad neck and back caused from a car accident. I used to take Neurofen Plus and Voltarin. I have found that I haven't had to take any of these for 3 months (since I have been on the program). The flaxseed oil tablets have an anti inflamatory in them. They may or may not help you but they may be worth a try.

Skinny hugs

Hi all:(

Just writing about my horrfic night i only got 2 hours sleep so that will mean no weight loss for today i presume still not feeling that well from yesterday those who were on the chat line know that story.

My 5 yo was up vomiting most of the night and then the neighbours came home and had a party at 2am and they are still going I am so agravated -why do people not consider other people.

This is a family neighbourhood filled with kids and a few elderely and this is the only house with young people it's not the first time this has occurred but I am going to report it to their agent this morning last night was the last straw.

Tired Sam:(

Hi Sam,
On days and nights like yesterday, you have to give yourself permission to not lose weight! Don't stress about it. I'm not saying that you shouldn't eat according to your plan. But really losing weight is not really your top priority. Whatever you don't lose today, you will lose once things have settled down. Be kind to yourself and don't add pressure that you don't need.
In regards to your neighbours, if there is lots of noise anytime after 11 or 12pm, I just go straight to calling the police! They will usually come and insist that the party finishes.
Make sure you have afternoon naps today!

Hi,

I have been reading all your post and you are all doing really well. I have just started with cohen's and am finding it really hard.

morning is really good but when it comes to 3 or 4 in the afternoon i need something really sweet. what can i do to get rid of this feeling.

hope to get to know some of you ladies.
talk to you all soon.

luv bella-anne

Well done on starting Bella-Anne. I'm the same as you - I get cravings in the afternoon. I have 2 crackers for morning tea and 2 for afternoon tea, cause I can't manage to not eat between meals. I find the 2 crackers in the afternoon and then having some chewing gum helps.. the chewing gum at least makes your mouth feel its had something sweet!
They will stabilise and stop as your sugar levels get under control. Before what you were probably doing was getting "sugar highs" whenever you felt tired - eating lollies/ biscuits/fruit etc when you were hungry. After a week or so on this plan you will find you don't get the sugar highs or lows, and things will stabilise out.
Good luck!

Pushing on...

Thanks Jayce and all for welcoming me to the forum :p I know we're not supposed to be weighing ourselves everyday but my husband and I couldn't help it and to our delight, we weigh 2kg lighter each this morning...and today's our 3rd day!

However, I haven't been sleeping well these last two nights - I wake up intermittently and I'm usually a sound sleeper. Is this expected?

Also, we're trying to be very organized and have done some meal planning but really, we need to be very creative in order not to be bored...a big problem for me because I love the smell, appearance and taste of food. I especially miss curry :(

For Asians on the forum, do you have Asian recipes to share please? If yes, please email me at windyblue.icemace@gmail.com.

Thanks very much!!!

Thanks for the support

You guys on this forum are the greatest.:D

Losing,Di78 and HL thanks for being here for me today.
My husband's been great as well he did take the day off and it's been a great help - he went grocery shopping for me i was running out of my cohen's food so I have just made myself a chicken and veg stir fry.
It's nice to know the kids have their Dad here too when mum is a bit grumpy.

I hope I do manage to crash at some stage HL but when I haven't slept I actually become more hyper and start doing odd jobs.

I have been back and forward to this forum throughout the day and it has really kept me on track especially reading how motivated the newbies are "very inspiring". I was a newbie only 7 weeks ago:eek: and it's incredible when you realise that in a matter of weeks you see such a significant change to your body in so little time.

This programme is the best don't let anyone tell you any different it is all about science. So let's keep inspiring each other every day and we will all reach our goal's before we know it.:p

Happy Losing everyone.:p

THanks to Chelsea's kick up the bum yesterday i'm back on track and flying high today. THANK YOU Chelsea you rock xxoo

For those who are having trouble sleeping, my first week was a horror for not sleeping properly then in the second week I did nothing but sleep for ages, but it's all worked itself out now and I figure it's just the body doing some rebalancing and what not.

Happy shrinking all :)

windy.. u can use curry powder, juz buy it from ani indian store or even supermarkets.. but.. it has to be plain curry powder without ani additional ingredients.. and speaking of a couple... are u the couple that i saw last mon at cohens waiting to speak to peter? ard 6+ in the evening.. ;)

Oh GOSH

oh gosh i cant believe im going to do this..

Key Aspects about Dr Cohen's Lifestyle Program:

* An Individual Program, based on international research which was started over 20 years ago in the USA, Europe and South Africa by Dr Cohen and his Research Partners.
* Rapid, but healthy fat loss which firms the muscles, tones and shapes the body while reducing fat content and overall weight.
* It is not a kilojoule-based, neither a high protein diet... it is a balanced eating program!
* The Lifestyle Program has been available for over 20 years with many thousands of successful clients from all over the world.
* Food is the only thing you take... (your food becomes your 'medicine').
* No injections, diet pills nor tonics.
* Your 'diet' is individually created for you and is based on your specific profile. You are unique, and so your treatment and return to health and wellness is also a unique journey.

I joined Cohens because i was OBESE,unhealthy and my hormones were all over the place,
The cohens program creates and INDIVIDUAL program for you and YOU only and balances out hormones in your body which in turn aids in weight loss.

i think this program is the best lifestyle change i have ever done, and in return it is ALSO helping me improve my Polystystic Ovary Syndrome WHICH has between one of the causes of my weight gain.

I respect the guys and theyre posts but all im getting when i read previous posts from non-cohens people is negativity.

We are here to encourage each other in our weight loss, not to argue about how much muscle we are losing or how we are '12 year old girls in the corner of a school playground'..

:(

Can we agree to disagree

To the Non-cohens people -
Please lets agree to disagree - while we appreciate that you may be trying to "help"us we are politely telling you we don't require your help . We are under the guidence of a medical doctor and would like to be left to go on our merry way - if you were to read our diaries etc you would see that we have all lost weight and eat very natural and healthy food everyday, and drink lots of water too.

this is why we have a thread of our own called "cohens lifestyle support"

I don't really understand why we are of such interest to you....we don't mean to offend when we ask you not to advise us on your methods- we are just very focused on our new healthy lives and are all looking forward to the activities we will do when we are ready.

Thanks

Yeah For Me

On a really positive note - I saw a mum from school today and she did a double take before she realised who I was. I haven't seen her since almost the start of the programme (9 weeks )= that felt really good.

Hope everyone is having a great day and I hope the party stopped next door Nans68. Did you get the hubby to do some powersawing right at the time when they would have crashed.

Talk soon :D
