Hey Reload,

Yes, Batang fish is allowed. Sorrie I took so long. Had to go ask my mum. My mum does the shopping (and I do the paying... hahaha).

Dory Fillet is allowed as well as sutchi fillet. Tioman fish also can.

I tend not to go for dory fillet and sutchi fillet as these are sort of preserved and they are not as fresh as those you get from the market.

Thanks newlife. Anyway congrats to u.... u are so close to ur ideal weight... Keep it up!! ;)

Touching base

Hi everyone, great to see ev eryone is doing so well. I haven't been on for a while and so many pages and posts to read. Well done to all.

Chelsea and Newlife: great posts and you bring so much inspiration to all. Keep up the great words of wisdom!!!

I had my son's 18th birthday on the weekend and as much as I was trying to stick with the plan, it was very hard when I was serving sausage rolls, pies, etc. all the really bad stuff. Anyway the result was that I was 3 kg heavier on Monday morning through lack of sleep, out of control eating and not drinking enough water. I am now trying to get back on track and have already dropped 2 kg. This really works when you stick with it. Now I have a work lunch on Friday and we had to pick out our menu. Not really much that I could call Cohen's plan. I have selected roast turkey with vegs and no cranberry sauce. This was the closest I could get. It's a 2 course meal and whether you have two or not, still have to pay the same money. It will be a challenge.

Keep up the good work and happy shrinking. :D

Pink Sultana - fantastic

Pink Sultana - what an amazing difference. You can really see a smaller version of the first photo. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement. :D

Mermaid Sister - good to see y ou on the road to success again. Keep it up.

OMG Mermaid Sister - I am sooo going through the same hell as you are at the moment. I have just read your posts and it is all the same. Just cant get back on the track. Went away for 4 days and try as I did to eat as much Cohens as possible I just can't now get back into it. I know it is up to each of us to dig in. There is just so much going on. I know I know, everyone has to go through it. Everyone has their christmas parties etc. I am more shitty with myself because everytime I have ever gone on a diet this is the time that I usually crack. Pathetic I know. Before I went away nothing was going to stop me being 70kg by Christmas but now I will be lucky if I am under 80kg. Sorry for babbiling but I am just so angry. I have wasted a whole month.:(

Pink Sultana - you look awesome. Hopefully one day I will have enough courage to put my photos on here. WHEN!! I reach 70kg maybe.

After being a voyeur for weeks I finally have been able to login. I am a newby I started 97 23/9/06 and lost 12 by week 4, another 7 by week 8 and am due for week 12 weight in tomorrow so will post again after. I was a fat 40 in January after trying since 11 on this journey but believe Cohen's is the answer for me which is very exciting. My goal is to be 75 kg by christmas and 70 by my 41st birthday on January 19th so I can be Fabulous, Fit and 41 instead of Fat, Frumpy 40.

I am so enjoying everyones dialogue and am happy to chat when I work out how to do it

Thanks for your interest. Anyone know how I can get a ticker?

bmi~

i did my calculation of bmi and realized.. i'm reaching the "holy and sacred" ground of acceptable weight... soon... lol :p ... i started out wif a bmi of 39 which means extremely obese! currently at 72.5kgs.. i'm down to a bmi of 28! which means 8kg more to being "normal" and a bmi of 24.9! gosh... i'm looking forward to that... which after that i can proudly announce.. i'm not overweight! :p

WOW Pink Sultana you look FANTASTIC, HUGE CHANGES .. way to go

have been awol for a week or two due to the silly season.

I went away for two days and let myself 'deviate' BUT to my own astonishment found that I really didn't want anything that I could 'now' have. I even bought a bag of maltesers had about 3 or 4 and gave the rest to a friend, I just wasn't interested. I was amazed at how my mindset has changed so dramatically.

Just wondering what everyone else plans on having for Christmas Day?

Jools- don't stress too much! I went to see my consultant today and she was very understanding. She said to try my hardest but not to beat myself up over stuff ups as it is that time of year, I am going back in on Jan 2nd and that is when she is going to crack the whip!

Funnily enough I haven't gained weight I have maintained it so I'm happy that my body can withstand my loss of descipline for some time, having said that I am being careful not to gain weight. If I can get through this hollies maintaining what hard work I have done I will be happy, I know that it is useless hoping for weightloss this couple weeks with all the functions because even with making the best choices I can, slight deviations throw the body out of ketosis and then it takes 3-5 days to start it up again and once it has started, whadaya know? another bloody function! so I am doing Cohens to my best ability but not stressing about being super dooper strict until I can because otherwise I just won't enjoy these hollies and by god I deserve to be happy after all this time.

I went and picked out a top for work xmas thingy this sat night, size 12! and it was from one of those skinny twig surf shops so I am very happy with that. I can't wait to be able to get back on track with no distractions!

Good job Mermaid Sister - I too have maintained my weight. I guess if we can get through the silly season without too much damage then it is really not that bad. I am just really angry with myself. But I guess I need to move and try and enjoy the holidays. Size 12 top that is my dream, currently a 16 due to my breast size. But it will come. I know it will.

Jools

I know what you mean, I was angry with myself too, thinking that I could have lost an additional 6-8kg this last month, but nothing I can do about it now, so I am just gonna have somne fun, because I haven't allowed myself too since I was smaller, when I was tripe digits I didn't go out ever! now I've been going to the cricket, going out with new people and already feel more confident. I guess the key is to focus on what we have done, not what we could've (words of advice from my personal yoda Chelsea there) and I know exactly what ur talking about with boobs! mine haven't seemed to have shrunk, actually totally surprised about finding a size 12 in a top especially a Roxy top- but I am not going to complain. Keep on it Jools you will get there and will have a fabulous xmas too, I am so looking forward to having my birthday in Febuary being smaller! in actual fact I can't wait to be able to be 100% cohens again, I feel that determination creeping back in... hooray!

P.S Pinksultana- geez girl ur a hottie! well done you look amazing!

Hey Everyone :)
had my one month weigh in today and i was pleasantly surprised to see that i had lost 10 kilo! so reeeaaalllyyy happy about that..its given me an extra boost of motivation to continue with cohens through the silly season and try my best not to deviate :)
also considering i dont weigh myself at home i found it gave me a huge feeling of accomplishment, and im not going to weigh myself for another 4 weeks (until my 8 week weigh in) so then i can really see some amazing numbers!
yay!
it was just so surreal standing on the scale and seeing 89.7 show up..i remember the last time i weighed around then so im really looking forward to seeing 70's(cant remember weighing 70-something ever) and then the icing on the ever so tasty cake...the SIXTIES!
I am going to have my nails refilled and painted a very christmassy RED on the weekend to join in on the festivities and continue to shrink (ive already reminded everyone to give me myer gift cards for chrissy as i will need a new wardrobe soon!)

ALSO if i could chuck in a question while im here...
ive noticed that many on this forum tend to get big numbers (7-12 kilo) within their first four weeks of cohens..then it goes down to around 4 kilo loss the next month...i spoke to my consultant about my weightloss for the next month and she said 'As long as you follow the plan 100 percent and drink LOADS of water im sure you will lose another 8-10 kg'
what do you guys think ???

So if i dont post before the New Year i just want to wish everyone a VERY merry chrissy and a Fantabulous SMALLER new year!! :):):)

xx

FatCat

The first month loss is alot of glycogen from the muscles and fluid so you may not have as bigger number as the first month. Having said that I lost 6kg I think in the secound month, but didn't drink my full 3 litres a day. It is so important to drink all ur water it really truely helps the weightloss, I found that when I upped my water I started losing quicker. Also the smaller you get, the slower the weightloss so because now you are at 89 (by the way CONGRATS!) it may slow down a wee bit, however everyones different. So drink your water and be a good girl and you will surely reap the rewards. Keep in mind also that numbers do not mean as much as cms so if you do have a slow month focus on ur measurements because thats where the acomplishments really are

have a great xmas!

Hi FatCat,
well done on a great loss!
I do eat out a lot, but I still find my weight goes in cycles and does not come off at an even rate. There is usually one, or maybe 2 weeks in a month where I have a 2kg loss, then I have smaller losses the other weeks. I also find I tend to have one high weight loss month followed by one low weight loss month. But in the low weight loss month, I shrink more in centimetres.
So, for me, I try not to allow my weightloss, either slow or fast, to affect me too much. I know if I stick to the plan at least most of the time, that the weight will come off. It may come off a bit slower at times, but it will make up for it at other times.

Hi all
Well done FatCAt - nice loss!!!
I'm on day 5 (and I was naughty and jumped on the scales) and can't believe it! I'm not telling you how much, but I was very impressed.
It's no wonder I felt so wretched on days 2 & 3. Feeling much better now. I've been very good, I accidentally deviated on day 2 and had an extra piece of fruit. I forgot about the mango I had already eaten with that disgusting tasting yoghurt! It doesn't seem to have hurt, but I'll be careful not to do it again.
Keep going everyone, you are wonderful motivation to everyone who's interested in this eating plan.
All the best
Cath

started cohens

Hi:D all just letting you know I started cohen's this week and so far so good I was planning to start in the new year but in the end i opted to start early, reading the stories here has really spurred me on

Bad headaches the first day and night I'm ok now but cravings are strong in the late afternoon, I am also waking up with hunger pains during the night.

Lots of tips in this forum so will go back and read. Weighed in today I have lost more then expected so all is good, will let you know in 4 weeks the total.
Hoping to lose 20kg which my consultant say's is acheivable by march.
hard to imagine:rolleyes:.

Take care

Sam:)

Had my weigh in this morning - which was fine. I'm averaging between 1kg and 1 1/2 kg a week - which I'm happy with, cause I eat out a lot.
I had another good cm loss - 15cm in 3 weeks.
and today I hit the 100cm lost mark!!! I can't believe I've lost a metre off my body! Yippee!
So, I went and bought some new clothes to celebrate. I am now comfortably fitting into SOME size 14 pants (depends on the style and cut - I tried on one pair which looked hideous!)
