Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Yep I'm with you. I had a particularly awful day last week and my darling husband proceeded to drink a lovely bottle of my favorite wine, right in front of me.
I looked longingly at the glass and said I would soooo love a glass.
but... I didn't. I have so much to lose weightwise and I am so sick of keep trying to lose it year after year. It is this or nothing so here goes this.
Just keep thinking I can have as much wine as I want when I am thin.
As dory the fish says in Finding Nemo, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. and you will get there eventually.

Champers

Been fighting with my hubby for the last few weeks and the last 2 days its been..... how do i put it #*!#%#! terrible and have been on the champers. Oh well cohens starts tomorrow!! I'll show him how skinny I can be!
Does anyone else find it hard not to have a drink when you have had a bad day? What do you do to stop yourself?

Hello Winnie

You poor thing - hope it gets better soon for you.

I so admire people like you who obviously enjoy a drink and manage not to (in the main) while doing Cohens ... I mean, I don't even drink alcohol and I feel deprived enough on Cohens - let alone for people like you who do enjoy a drink!

Tomorrow's a new day ... you'll do it ...:D

Kind regards

Taffy

Thanks Skinny Kitty for cheering me on - I didn't let the lasange get to me - I'm a 100% non deviant. It was just the first real time I had to make the decision to eat my meal - felt weird.

Went down the gold coast today and wore - a bikini OMG (okay I did have board shorts on) cos I think my arms are going to look a little better if they don't have a permanent tshirt mark. Previously I never went sleeveless as I thought this meant people couldn't see my fat arms. Either I think the people I know needed glasses or I was in denial - but today I actually felt as though I didn't look any different to most of the other girls wearing a kini. It really is an adjustment in my head.

Winnie - sometimes I sniff wine really hard and that is enough - but I can have a beer (small bottle diet ginger ale in stubby cooler) so for the moment got to be satisfied with that. I was probably drinking far too much red wine before and this is something I won't go back to unwinding at the end of the day with a drink (or 3.....)

Have a good week everyone

Thanks Fatcat..
My consultant is uh.. Louise I think it's spelt, not sure. And no, I was in there late Wednesday afternoon lol. I saw your pics on the before and after though so if I ever see you I'll say hi..

My younger brother has actually gotten really supportive and is very creative with descriptions of what he will do to me if I even deviate once the whole time. I guess most people don't have that.
Although, I don't understand why people feel the need to deviate in the first place. You had it before, and you can have it again later on, so why even think about it for now. Then again I'm also not a drinker so I don't know what it's like to crave a drink after a hard day.
Oh and winnie, don't forget you're doing it for you =p Not just to show him how much you can lose.

Hi everyone

Katydidnext: 5.7kgs is great! On wot diet can u lose that much so quickly and hey every (body) is different so congratulations and keep going strong.

Winnie: Sorry to hear about your troubles but if u stick with it you will be feeling great and on top of the world dont give into bad days, try going for walk to clear your head or do something that takes your mind away from the troubles (not drinking alcohol) I always had a drink when i had a bad day but I havent had that feeling since being on cohens SO BE STRONG you will be the better person for it. Sometimes i put diet lemondade in a wine glass and it makes me feel like i am having wine. And make sure you are losing weight for you and not for your husband.

Anyway hope everyone else is having a great day!!!

Congratulations!!!

Yes I am 40 today.:)

Not 40 years old, that will be in about 4 months, but 40KG down today. Feeling great! :D

Hi less of me:D

So happy to know you are still out there and posting when you can. I remember you as being one of my inspirations for joining Cohen's last year.

I am close to refeed and I was wondering since you are such a success story if you wouldn't mind opening a thread telling us how you are managing your weight after Cohen's. I am also hoping that other successful Cohenites who were close to refeed when I was scanning the forums are out there still reading and will post their stories.

This forum is very supportive and inspiring but it would be even more so hearing it from the those who have come before us.:p

Hope you can do this for us newbies eager to lose and get healthy.:)

Hi all,
Sorry to hear Winnie!! if i have a bad day i get on here. always feel much better reading everyones posts. i normally sit with a peppermint tea to relax or a sprite zero. the grog is a hard nut but part of how i got this big so am happy to let it sit lonely while i find the hot mamma under all this fat.

i too had a bad day. everything was normal, nothing stressing and the kids opened a bag of lollies and i had 2 spearmint leaves. i am so so cranky at myself.

i dont know what made me do it. i think it may have been i was starving and was yet to cook dinner. but normally i am fine. it was like someone else took over me. i could have banged my head on the wall. was so focused on not deviating and to ruin that on 2 stupid fricken lollies.

so this is my offical apology to myself "sorry that i disappointed you and ate that very bad food. i promise to keep my eye on the prize and try my best to not do that again!" over it and on with it.

damn that. apart from that.........all is well.

Jody - if you get back on. What a fabulous result for you. 55kg in 7 months. that is enormous. can youu fill us in on how much you lost through your journey or monthly average. that would be great.

lose on friends:)

Hi Taffy,
everyone says the same thing to me as well, but I have a fine bone structure! I think it is because our measurements go down faster than our weight. Most people think I don't need to lose any more weight, but I still need to lose 20kg! I think our height often gives a good indication of our bone structure and the weight we have to lose. So, you have to put peoples comments out of your mind and continue on to the goal.

goodmorning evryone,
day 2 for me today and so far so good. it is only 9am LOL. You people on here are a constant source of motivation. i would never had done this if this forum wasn't here.....so thanks guys. have a great day

Month by Month Loss

Jody - if you get back on. What a fabulous result for you. 55kg in 7 months. that is enormous. can youu fill us in on how much you lost through your journey or monthly average. that would be great.
Tanya

I just searched my old posts and have copied and pasted most of this from there...it's not my average monthly loss - it's my month by month loss, but you could always use these figures to work it out if you really want too...Hope this inspires!

Month 1 9.45kg :D
Month 2 9.35kg :D
Month 3 5.6kg :( (I remember gulping down about 1 and a half litres of water in the half hour before I went to my weigh-in this day...maybe that had something to do with it?
Month 4 8.45kg :)
Month 5 5.9kg :) (Better than nothing and I am feeling sooooo great these days that even a 2kg loss would have been enough to put a smile on my face!!! I probably don't really mean that...) ;)
Month 6 8.65 :D
Month 7 6.35 :)
I lost about 1.5 kg while on what I like to call the stabilisation program (refeed)...

Remember - because you are starting each new month at a lesser weight than the one before it, the amount of weight you lose within each succesive month, with respect to your (monthly) starting weight, should 'logically' decrease. The pecentage loss (like what they measure on 'The Biggest Loser') should stay fairly constant, but the actual loss in kg should decrease each month.

I will post some of my experiences with regards to 'life after cohen's', but I will wait until I have some more time. I think there are some threads already started that relate to this...if not I will start one soon - I promise! Right now I have to get ready to go and have coffee with a group of lovely Cohenettes We get together every Tuesday for a coffee and a chat...I recommend this to anyone on the program if there are a few of you living in close vicinity...it might just help to keep you inspired and motivated...and it gives you an excuse to have a great cup of coffee - as black as midnight on a moonless night!

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Hi,
I have been reading this forum on and off for a while, but this is my first post. I finished my refeed program yesterday, so today I am officially allowed to eat whatever I like. Guess what I had for breakfast? Yep, yoghurt! I'm a creature of habit!
I have been on Cohen's since 30th September, and have lost 25.5kg. It has been an amazing miracle in my life. What a wonderful journey. I am very happy that I'm not fat anymore, but even happier that I feel young, well and full of life in a way that I thought I never would again. For those of you who are struggling to stick to the program I can only say this. There's only one decision to make and you made it when you started Cohen's. If you've committed to it, let that committment be absolute. I didn't 'deviate' (hate that word) intentionally once during the last 19 weeks. Not even at Xmas. I lost an average of 1.5 KG per week. My starting weight was 87Kg and I now weigh 61.5Kg. It got easier and easier. I am just an ordinary person. If I can do it, anyone can!

CONGATULATIONS waterlily..........what an outstanding acheivement. You must look absolutley gorgeous!! I hope to be posting a similar thread in a few months time myself. i have 20kg to lose and my intention is not to deviate at all. it's people like you who make this all seem so doable.......thanks

Thankyou to DREAMER, TAFFY and LESS FATTY You told me exactly what I needed to hear. No more deviating, PLAN, PLAN, PLAN that is the key. I would be fine at work, do everything right then as soon as I got home I would start picking. I WILL finish this program and I WILL be successful. My first 16KG pretty much fell off so I know that all I have to do is STICK TO IT!!!. Once again thanks. I was just being a loser and not a WINNER.

Cheers and good luck to everyone. You are all doing so great.

Thanks ITM,
You are so right, it is doable and the only thing between you and the new you are a few Cohen's meals! I was lucky, I had a buddy doing Cohen's with me. We made a promise to each other and supported each other through the whole thing. There's nothing more precious than a friend who truly supports you and knows what you're going through (because they are too!).
This forum was also hugely inspiring. What amazing people you all are! It's so wonderful to see strangers come together to help each other.

Ticker Update

Hi all you fabulous losers! Just dropping in to update my ticker... Not long now I can't wait until this is finished - it's very exciting to see the forrest from the trees! Waterlily - well done on such a great effort! I would have been finished now too if I didn;t fall off the wagon so badly over Christmas. Can you post some before and afters to help inspire....? ;)
Have a great day everyone!:D

yes waterlily,
please could you post some pics i would love to see the transformation. you must feel great. i have almost been where you are once before and i wanted to shout my happiness from the rooftops. i am a fairly shy person but i could have easily stood on a podium in front of thousands of people and preached the benefits of weight loss. circumstance changed all that for me but here i am once again and ready to be that born again LOL

Checkin' In!

good afternoon ladies (and man i think! :D)

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing and im sitting here with a huge smile on my face because im seeing a lot of people skiddadling back onto the wagon and others cruising along magnificently!

The past two days have been a little trying for me in regards to im pretty certain i wil be hitting TOM next week so i have been getting a bit hungry!
And my poor mother today has been cookin up her weekly feast since my brother and his fiance are coming to visit tonight (they come here once a week for dinner and catchups!). So amongst all my hungriness ive had to sit and endure smelling pancakes cooking and chicken schnitzel frying in butter ARRRGGGHHHH!!!! :)

So glad uni starts next week so i will have something to occupy my time with other than food! YAY hehe

Less Of Me - You said that your weight should ' logically decrease' but when i looked over your stats they were all higher then a 5kilo loss! Im worried that after youve said that my next weigh in will produce crappy numbers like a 2 or 3 (my monthly losses have been 10kg,5.6kg,6.1kg) which means i may have to be on cohens longer!? what do u think?

Waterlily - WOW thankyou so so so much for posting on this forum! youve given me some peace of mind in regards to 'light at the end of the tunnel' hehe...ive only got 13 to go so im hoping its going to be a quick 13! could you please tell me what your monthly losses were? and if to speed up the weight loss you tried some different things ie: changing what u ate OR how much water u drank etc etc.I guess im a little scared atm that my body will go into a plateu or something! Anyway CONGRATS on the amount lost and please keep us up to date how ' life after cohens' is going!!

Well thats all from me everyone!

Happy Losing x

Hi people:)

Lovely to see such positivity circulating through this forum.
Hello and welcome Waterlilly you are want I needed to show me that their is life at the end of the Cohen's programme and that it is all very achievable

Jools great to have you back on board.......16kg lost what an amazing acheivement you can see this journey through - do it for you.

MellyP you must look and feel amazing well done I'm like you nearly at the end of this amazing journey.

Dreamer well done too, doesn't it feel good when your clothes are just about falling off you and yes the compliments from people helps as well.
My husband can't get over it and keeps saying has such and such noticed and I reply no but I'm happy because I notice and that is what is important in the end.

Itsmytime yes you will be here 20kg lighter and giving advice to all the newbies who have found Cohen's. Keep up the positive thoughs.

And Fatcat don't give in you are so close to goal and have been so inspiring with your post's. Just keep posting and we look forward to seeing the newly blossomed SLIMCAT. Will you post some photo's?

Take care all and goodluck to all out there who I haven't mentioned
Sam:)

well comign to the end of week 2 and i measure tomorrow. not expecting as greater figures as first week but do hope there is some. i must admit the end of this week has been the hardest. i too have had people starting to notice and it is tempting me to pick at the kids food and i so promised myself i wouldnt go there.

does anyone have any tips on getting through those hard tempting times??

everyone is doing so well. good on you all.

Lose on friends. :)
