cherry garcia's diary

thanks kakutzi for stopping by, it seems our journeys have been freakishly similar the past few weeks, hopefully this will be a breakthrough week for the both of us and that things can continue running smoothly. i also have some extra pounds to get rid off (from the 4day cheat day spree) and i just want to work hard and after a few days when i step on the scale i hope there'll be some positive progress. i just feel like i've stagnated the last few weeks and need to continue progressing like i was before.
Hey cherry. I havent been on here since late last week, so im just catching up on things. Have been wondering how youve been doing. Sounds like we are still on similar journeys. I totally fell off the wagon on friday, and threw all my healthy eating out the door, and had 4 days with no excercise. As you can imagine i piled on the weight in those 4 days. So its back to the drawing board for me.

I like your new goals for your weight loss. Counting calories can become very obsessive. You know your body better than any one so do whats right for you. Also, weighing everyday can have its good and bad points. It can be really demotivating if you dont see a drop, and it can become all consuming watching the changes daily. Best of luck with weighing in weekly. Im positive you will continue to see losses with the killer workouts you do.

Keep at it girl, you are an inspiration to me!

My oh my, INSPIRATIONAL I dare say.

I have "fallen off the wagon" in a BIG way the last few months, not really caring, but I just realised, you know what? I DO CARE!!! and my body cares too. I want to feel healthy and loving towards myself again, and you have shown me how easy it is to get back there!

Hey cherry,

Just stopping by to see how you are doing! Hope everythings ok. Hows it going with not weighing yourself everyday? I dont know that i could have enough will power not to...
Look forward to seeing how youve done this week. Im sure your excercising hard out as usual !

thanks blancita, ankebuzz and kakutzi for stopping by, and anyone else who may have checked up on me too.

okay let me start by saying wooohooo! i just did a sneak peak weigh in today, the last time i'd weighed myself was 5 days ago on sunday morning, believe it or not that day i weighed in at 323 pounds (remember it was after 4 days of eating crap when i slipped up and was putting on pounds overnight like crazy) but i think alot of it was water weight. so it got me all depressed and that's when i made my goals to stop OBSESSING over the scale and so not to weigh in everyday and secondly to stop counting calories and just eat healthy (i'm eating the same quanity as when i was counting calories but i'm just not logging in things anymore since it was getting to me too much).

and so today DRUMROLL, i weighed in at 313.9 pounds! wooohooo! it's my lowest weight since i started this journey and i FINALLY got to adjust my ticker downwards finally after almost 4 weeks of stagnation/fluctuation in weight....which is why i keep repeating how trying this month has been despite the fact that i was doing everything right. i'm so happy...and feel like i'm finally out of a hole i've been in the past month. :hurray:

==================================
HIGHEST WEIGHT: 159.1kgs (350.7pounds)
CURRENT WEIGHT: 142.4kgs (313.9pounds)
===================================

Workouts:
Monday: 40min elliptical, 45min combat class
Tuesday: 95mins elliptical (break in between), weights
Wednesday: 55mins elliptical, 45min combat class, weights
Thursday: 30mins elliptical (was supposed to be a rest day but decided to go in anyway, i was so exhausted could only do 30mins, from now on will respect my rest days and not go to the gym)

Wow! 313???!! Fantastic! Not only that, but to echo everyone else's thoughts, way to go and fighting back from the "cheat spree". That is sometimes so difficult to do and you did it. Great job! :)

That's fantastic!

Way to go, Sunshine!

It is your dogged determination to keep plugging away, even in the face of stagnation, even in the face of 4 days off your regular diet, that pays off for you, and is an example for everyone.

It's really inspiring. Following your journey helps me stay on track with mine.

thanks ymcachick! i was so down in the dumps during the slip up so i'm glad i managed to get out of it and continue...goodness it's been a rough week but i feel i'm finding myself once again on this journey.

God you are brilliant Cherry :D

It's not those that are perfect or never fail that I admire, it's those that can say.. shit looks like I fell off the horse, and then pick themselves up and dust themselves off, and get right back on .. those are the people I truly think are great, and you are one of them :)

thanks for the very kind and lovely words kori, i don't know what i'd do without all of you!

Hey girl! Yippee! Well maybe that re-feed theory that your body will release fat when its got ample food is true. Its really a function of leptin, which increases when you eat more after restriction (even healthy restriction). The increase in leptin causes your metabolism to automatically speed up and you become less cravy and more easily satiated. Best part about the whole thing to me is that you hopped right back on that wagon and didn't let a lil slip up stop you from achieving your long term goals.

thanks blancita for the encouragement....i definitely need to do some reading about leptin and that theory...the human body can be such a mystery sometimes!

Congrats Cherry!! I know how tough the last few weeks have been for you but youve proven that you can still stick with it and get to your goals. I am so proud of you. You must feel ecstatic....

Hello Cherrygarcia,

How's it goin?

I see you're still keeping up on the SAMC spreadsheet week to week, maybe once in awhile you could pop in on the support thread as well?....there are only about 8 ppl that still post their weekly stats, and only about 4-5 that post on the support thread during the week. It's pretty dead in there to say the least. There isn't much drama anymore, since those ppl are gone. (unless I am percieved (sp?) as one of them ;) ) Plus you always have tons of health tips, along with great feedback in your posts!! :)

So don't be afraid to come on in and cheer the rest of your team mates on!! We'd love to see more of ya! :)

Take Care, Lata

thanks ankebuzz for stopping by, hope your doing good now too?
Hey Cherry!!! WOOT! I am proud of you, keep going strong!

thanks running girl for stopping by...i know i've neglected the SAMC thread, it wasn't on purpose, it's just that initially there was the drama which i avoided then later it's like there was too much stuff to catch up on....i'll definitely make an effort from now on. thanks for the encouragement. :)

okay, so today was an interesting day. first of all yesterday and today the temperatures here have been ridiculously hot and humid....and to make matters worse, the gym's a/c has been broken for goodness knows how long....which is usually not a problem but on days like today it becomes one big oven!

so today at the gym i had an appointment with one of the trainers because i wanted to incorporate a few more machines into my workout since so far i've only been using free weights. of all the trainers i got the really hot guy who i've been oogling over on a daily basis. so i arrive at the gym late and have to rush to the changing rooms to change in order to make it in time for whats left of my appointment (remember the gym=oven), so by the time i got dressed into my workout clothes and went for my appointment, i was already sweating buckets! jeez it was so damn embarassing! so the entire time he's talking, as soon as he'd turn his back i'd wipe the sweat off my forehead hoping he won't notice...lol! goodness me. anyway, he was really professional and nice and we went over my current programme and he added on some exercises to work my back, ie lat pulldowns and cable rows, and continue on with squats and lunges (of which i'd stopped doing).

so got through it all today despite the sweating rivers, the hot trainers and all that jazz...lol!

so today did:-

- 30mins elliptical
- 45mins aerobics class
- 45mins weights ie
BACK: lat pull downs, cable rows
LEGS: squats and lunges
ARMS: biceps, triceps, front raises, overhead raises

otherwise this week will not weigh untill sunday....i'm hoping for another good number this week. xoxo

PS: so i get home today and find my landlady had baked some delicious smelling pies straight out of the oven, made using fruit from her own garden....i always decline her food offers and i think she kinda gets offended, so today when she asked i said yes i'll have a piece, and she asked with custard and i said yes....so i took my bowl up to my room and now have to figure out a way to throw it out....this girl is definitely back on the wagon and is moving at 100miles per hour...lol!

Good job! Make sure you're doing some chest moves also as you always want to work opposing muscle groups to avoid injury (i.e. back/chest, biceps/triceps, quadriceps/hamstring, front/back/top shoulder).

Hahaha, sounds like an adventurous session at the gym!

Hey, well done on making your landlord happy, AND yourself :)
