on another note it appears it may be a day or two before its that time of the month again....arrrgghhhh! i'm feeling really PMSy!

ever since my new lifestyle change i've been very anti-medication, but every month the cramps are still really bad so will go see my doc for a prescription for something stronger since the store-bought painkillers never work for my cramps :(

What works for me is using a heating pad on my stomach. Taking Midol. And sleeping a lot. Sometimes I have cramps so bad I just go to sleep and when I wake up its much better.

Just a few tips, cuz I know how much it sucks. But yeah, if its so bad that nothing will help then its time to see a doctor.

Guys just don't know...

lol

dude. All i can say is this:

TWO pamprin MAXIMUM and then there are Therma care heating pad that stick right to your underwear on your lower ab....... stays warm 8 hours.... they partnered with 'always' and they are effing awesome!!!!!!!!!

hands down the best invention ever... i wear it all day at work, noone knows... makes me feel MUCH better!!!!

that and crunches helps me!!!

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your story with me in my diary. My eating problems also actually stemmed from my mom... she was anorexic and bulimic before I was born and has struggled with it on and off ever since. I would notice her binges, and then I started doing the same thing for comfort. We had these chocalate caramel filled bears in our pantry as treats, and the one day I secretly ate the whole box, like 30 of them. That's when I first realised something's not right!

But over this last year, I seem to have figured out my emotions and how they link to food... most of the time! I guess it's an ongoing learning experience to be the person you want to be :)

lol!
Omg! It's contagious! Run! Run from the blood!

hey ankebuzz, thanks for sharing too, i think taking this journey helps us to find ourselves and break from the past...i still have a long way though but this time i won't quit...i just have to get my life back!

so i haven't seen a doctor in ages (of course because of my weight), and i hate being judged and i've always known when i see one will be told loose weight bla bla bla, but my cramps have been really bad so decided to see the doc to get some prescription pain killers for it.

i was expecting to see a thin lean doctor looking at me with the usual disapproving judgmental looks....and who do i get, a fat doctor. this guy was tall and really really hefty, he's definitely past overweight and would definitely be classified as early obese stage. i was like what? i'm not trying to be mean or anything but i almost laughed (don't get me wrong, not in a malicious way or anything, so if any doctors read this please don't take offense), it's just that i've always considered doctors to be superhuman people who are perfect and hence can judge and point out other peoples imperfections, so for me to see an obese doctor was a definite first for me, and i think made me glad to know that doctors are just regular human beings afterall.

so he prescribed my medication for the cramps and asked if there was anything else. so i told him i'd just started a weightloss programme and wanted to be getting my BP checked regularly from now on, so he gave me this look, a kind of 'yeah right your on a diet' look, in the past i'd have started tearing up (goodness i used to cry alot), but today felt nothing because i knew i really am, so he told me the nurse can be checking my BP. so i'll get checked on monday (last time my BP was checked in the gym on my day 1 of exercise and was told it was a bit high, and i'm sure it should be normal now since i've been feeling great since starting exercise), i guess i'll get my weight recorded too and don't know what else...will find out on monday.

you know what? i'm kinda glad i got assigned to that doctor because for now it means i'm not scared to go see the doctor anymore. in the past i'd have to be close to near death before i'd go see one. these are the reasons i want to loose weight, so that i can be comfortable to go for medical checkups when i want without having to fear being judged.

You know, I've heard from my mother that doctors do not take their own advice. They can be pretty stubborn. My mom used to work at a hospital, she told me this story of this doctor that had been ignoring his chest pain for like a week. One day he went home from work and had a heart attack. He lived, but I mean, omg, he could've died, and he's a doctor! But yeah, so maybe that doctor just doesn't care about his health, or maybe he's in denial and he thinks he's in good shape.

I have seen overweight doctors before. It's weird.

It's really good that you're checking on that blood pressure. You're right, it'll probably be normal now. But its good to keep an eye on it.

And congrats, you're almost at 320!

Hey Cherry.. glad the visit to the Doctors wasn't too bad!

Funny isn't it! I had a Doctor who was Obese and smoked when I was a kid :p He was the best Doc I have ever had!

The lecturing Judgemental type ones don't actually help in a lot of cases!

Shame he wasn't more supportive and positive about your weight loss plan.. why didn't he even ask what you are doing? And why couldn't he take your BP then and there? Sheez!

We have a BP machine at home here.. Hubby had to get it but his is now perfect.. I should check mine!
