That's great Cate. Glad you're feeling better. Yes definitely-- we'll all have our times of sadness, with or without the additional stress covid is adding to our lives. Glad you have lots of positives to focus on!I feel ok today. I think the grumpiness and tears will come and go, but with that also comes joy in my surroundings, gratitude for the people I love & who love me, music, hilarious memes, golf videos.........
Especially since you're still watching what you eat on the other days.My new "fasting" is somewhere between 500-800 cals twice a week. I figure that's better than not at all.
Trying to make the walks feel different and interesting do you mean? I was thinking that myself today as i generally take the same route, away from the town so i run into less people, encounter inclines, lots of loveliness, but yes nothing like the variety I had in the past. Of course there is always something different and new each time--a new flower blooming, a slug on route (luckily not leeches!), a tree in a new phase of being...Walking is making me feel better, but I'm finding it hard to make them feel different.
a few decades ago, i was working with the Navy and got to spend nearly a month on Kauai. unfortunately there was a golf tournament in the area so i had to stay on the boat a few of the weeks, but one amazing week i got a call from the local B&B people who asked if i was still looking to stay in the area. for $35/day (!!!!) i got an above-the-garage apartment w/ kitchen, bedroom, sitting room, porch overlooking the shoreline, all because the couple that showed up for their week stay left after ~30 minutes. the woman saw a gecko on the wall and ran out of the place fast according to the host.... All geckos are amazing.
LaMa- I think I was wide awake as we had too big a dinner (venison shank with vegetables). The orange helped my digestion, but I was up for a couple of hours. I went back to bed at 4 & then G started snoring, so I went into another bed & managed to sleep until 7.30.
Amy- I did, thank goodness. Our nearby town is very picturesque. We try not to drive anywhere unless we have to, but I think we'll do this walk at least once a week as it's very therapeutic. You're right about G's accident. It all felt fairly traumatic, especially when we were carefully avoiding going near anyone, let alone medical centres or hospitals. It's a big relief that it is healing.

Speaking of golf. I'm going to message M, who's husband died over Easter & ask her if she wants to play 9 holes one day next week.
I'm fasting today. My new "fasting" is somewhere between 500-800 cals twice a week. I figure that's better than not at all. I did some light weights & squats yesterday & have been getting my steps in each day. I'll weigh myself again tomorrow.
