Cate's Diary

Still not 100%, but will go with 85 :)
I'm about to have my ears irritated again.
Just had it done & need to keep working on it myself, which I will do.
It's a beautiful sunny day today. 2 weeks from today we will be heading for Greece!

13 days!
It's now that I start thinking to add stuff. What if it's cold? What if it rains? I think I'm going into town Wednesday of next week to have a haircut & to buy some colourful sports socks & will also check out light rain jackets. One would be handy for golf, preferably blue.
R, our younger son caught up with his ex GF, C, on Monday night & had dinner at her place. Fingers & toes crossed there! I had sent him a photo of G enjoying fresh oysters down the east coast at the w/e & he messaged me back that he really missed C so I messaged him to ring her up & he did. I will be hopeful. She is such a good person & I really think they love one another.
I think I'll go for a walk today. I got affected by perfume a few times yesterday & need to clear my lungs.

Oh the countdown is on! So exciting! And I'm so impressed that you've already been packing! I usually wait until the last minute, then panic. Lol

I just can't be a last minute packer. I travel light, but have copies of stuff, take my own fragrance-free everything, first-aid kit etc. My clothes & shoes won't weigh much. I am getting excited :D
We went for a walk & realised we're still not 100%. We were very short of breath. We'll go for a walk each day.

On our last trip, I definitely was more prepared. So hopefully I will keep up with that in the future. But I definitely overpack on the clothes side every time.

Well, you have to start somewhere! It always takes me a while to get back to normal after being ill.

As my mom always says: as long as you pack your passport, your wallet, and your phone, there's nothing you can forget that'd be a disaster because you can always get replacements. For me meds belong on that list, too, because those are very hard to get while away from home.
About R and his ex-gf: I think the best you can hope for is them being in regular contact/being friends again.

Hi, PLB. It is so hard not to over-pack clothes. There is always something I should have left out.
Hi, LaMa. I'm with you on the meds as well. I always sneak some extras of mine into G's bag, just in case mine goes missing.
Re R & his ex GF. You know I will still hope for more. I still think they are right for one another. I live in hope :)

I have actually packed. This has not happened before. 13 days to go & I am packed. Wow!
When we get back from out trip I need to take up a new hobby. I am not active enough, physically or mentally. My options at this stage are-
Yoga, Tai Chi, learning a language (Italian?), working with refugees (much harder to organise)..........I need to do something else or I am going to get old fast!

I don't think it matters what you do as long as it's in pleasant company with little to no allergy problems. So many things are fun and interesting and a lifetime isn't enough to explore them all so you might as well just have fun.

That's a good way of looking at it, LaMa. You're right of course. I don't feel driven to do something that won't be enjoyable, but I do feel that I have too much idle time.
