So I make sure I get gentle movement in because being completely stationary makes it worse.
Agreed. Gentle walks, warm showers (only if they´re pleasant), simple back exercises. Don´t sit, stand or lie down for too long on end (not because it´d damage you but because it´d be unpleasant). These things generally just take a bit of time to run their course. Hope you get well soon!

I didn't hear back from the masseuse & she is going away for a month tomorrow. I have someone else that I will try to book into soon. I massaged my own back before I went to bed last night with magnesium oil & it felt a bit better this morning. I never wake up feeling like exercising, but this morning I decided to get on my exercise bike to loosen up my hips & I did a fairly quick 5 km. I'm sure it helped me to get through my day.
I may play golf tomorrow, depending on how I wake tomorrow. One of the golfing women is going to send me the phone number of the masseuse in her town.
OK- my fall. If you can imagine some rough Tasmanian bushland on a fairly steep slope......& 2 logs about 2 metres long & about 30 cm in diameter, needing to be dragged down (too heavy to carry) to where our Ute (small truck) was & where G was chainsawing. Instead of wisely taking one at a time(or better still leaving them), I thought it would save me a trip & be more even on my body if I dragged them both at once, with one each side. BIG mistake. G only saw me when I was on the ground & had no idea what I had attempted. He actually said that I should have left them for him, not realising I had tried to drag both at once. I would hate to think what he would say if he knew.
I'm fasting today & drinking black coffee at 4.30 pm, which is very unusual for me. G has his 8-ball team coming up for snooker tonight & I feel like snoozing already. I won't join them, but I will do them supper, which is just bought stuff. I am very hungry I must admit!
Edited: After drinking some espresso coffee & having a small bowl of veggies (no potato) my appetite disappeared. I am currently at only 326 for the day & will have a small tub of Yoplait, no sugar tropical yoghurt to bring my calories up to just under 400 for the day. Happy with the day.
 
Oh no, I hope you get better quickly from your fall! Movement and massage are definitely the way to go.

Also your Fitbit day you posted was craaaazy, 17k steps?? You go girl!

Yes, it was stupid! Not as dangerous as it sounds- more unrealistic. I need to remember that I am not bloody superwoman. Thanks, LaMa. I'm feeling even better this morning xo

I will not tell you that I weighed this morning & gained half a kilo. It did not happen! My stomach has really shrunk & I felt much lighter. Go figure.
Off to golf now. I'll weigh again tomorrow.
 
Wow, so weird. My daughter tripped over logs trying to get out of the way of a rogue wave yesterday and hit her head on a second log. She scratched up her face a little, too. She says to tell you "the logs are out to get us!" Hope you are feeling much better and can book a nice massage very soon!
 
Marsia- logs amongst waves? Wow. Maybe logs are becoming a threat to humans. Is nature taking revenge? :D
I have that phone number now & must ring to make an ap't.
LaMa- I have put that number out of my head. I do have inflammation today, so maybe that has something to do with it.
We didn't play golf today as it was wet & cold. I rang G & we went shopping instead. We bought some good quality cheese, ham & a 5kg box of salmon fillets. We ran out ages ago!
 
So you have all been busy ducking and diving logs . You're lucky you didn’t do more damage Cate .
Good on the eating you are doing well . And I think if you feel lighter and trimmer well that’s a good think. I had been starting to feel bit more shapely again but today my tummy feels like a massive blob !

Hope you get to the masseuse. That will sort it I hope
 
Oh, forgot to mention the logs were on the beach as part of a kids' sand fort, so when my daughter leaped back away from the wave, she tripped over the first log, fell into the sand pit, and hit her head on a second log. We get huge trees that fall into the ocean washed up on the beaches here a lot. But so weird you were both done in by logs!

Glad you are making an appointment and hope you enjoy the salmon - one of my favorite foods in the world!
 
Cate, if you keep doing all the right things, it is a scientific fact that you will see results and that scale will begin to move favourably. I mean, unless you're not a human being, and I'm pretty sure you are! :p
 
Thanks, Petal. I ate some gluten on Sunday (only food available at golf) & that would not have helped. I still have not made that call. I struggle with making calls to strangers & having a massage is such an up close & personal thing that ringing a stranger to book in for a massage is a double anxiety thing. I'll do it today!
Thanks, Marsia. I had wondered how on earth your daughter had been hit by logs in the ocean & I had been going to ask. It is so weird that logs did us both in :) I will make that appointment today :)

I have a doctor's appointment at 9 am tomorrow & I am going to ask her again if there are any tests I can do to see if there is some physiological reason I am not losing weight. I am eating under my TDEE 5 days a week & doing 2 x <500 cal. "fasts" each week & have been doing that since the 15th of July. I should be losing. I'm sticking with it as I feel lighter & my stomach feels much better. Please, universe!
I am not going to drink any wine at all from Sunday to the following Saturday as, even though I count it in my daily cals on NFD's, I need to see if this makes a difference. You just never know.
I didn't ride my bike yesterday so will do extra today. FD today- 2nd one of the week. If I do not lose anything I'm tempted to do a third on Sat. Tempted.
 
Ah sorry the weight loss isn't happening right now, its frustrating especially when you're working so hard. And I've only just seen the scales move too on a week I definitely thought I wouldn't have lol.

Do you weigh everything you eat with a food scale or do you use measuring cups and go by servings? I weigh absolutely everything, even slices of bread by gram as the servings are always ALWAYS like 20% + more than the listed serving.

I mean, if you're tracking very accurately then Emily is right, you will definitely see a loss.

It is bloody frustrating Lucy. On FD's I weigh every morsel on my scales, but on the other 5 days of the week, I don't. I still am way under my TDEE on those days.
I think if I don't start seeing a loss soon I will go bananas!
The doc's ap't is just a follow-up from regular blood tests for D3 etc.
