Cate's Diary

That's the Cate I know!
& it's the Cate I prefer too, LaMa :beating:
I am finding it definitely a place to come for some motivation. It’s been a great find.
It is a great place, Petal.

It's my birthday today. So far, so good! :D
I must make sure that I am as healthy as I can be, to enjoy the rest of my life as much as I have enjoyed it so far. I have been so lucky.
I don't usually mention my age in here as I know people can treat you differently when they know your age & I really don't want that. I am no different to anyone else.
Ours is a world of isms- racism, sexism & ageism to name a few. I'm 65 today & I am really happy with my life. I don't feel any different to how I felt at 18 mentally. I would not want to be young again, but I am going to live the rest of my life enjoying whatever comes my way.
I have been thoroughly spoiled by my sister who has sent me a box of goodies, with a paisley theme & G has given me a beautiful woven tree tapestry(?) in black, red & silver, which are my usual colours. He has done very well as he doesn't normally buy me a present. It's lovely & I'm chuffed that he made the effort.
I love my birthday. 65 years lived pretty well & lots more living to go!

Congratulations, Cate! Lots of fun, good health, family togetherness, splendid parties, new friendships, wonder and quiet contemplation for the upcoming year. O, and hugs. Lots of those :)

Happy birthday to you . Glad to hear that you had a wonderful day so far. Nice that you have been spoiled .

Your attitude is fantastic and I wish you another year of happiness and positivity.
Congratulations

Thank you, Petal. My day was special in that I felt really loved. I think that is the most important thing in life- well I know it is to me. Even my older brother, who has never rung me for my birthday before, rang me today.
I think I grew up with this thought that you should never feel special or be too confident. It was frowned upon. I grew up feeling unworthy.
I now know that is so wrong. We should all feel that we are worth being loved & cherished because we are. We all deserve good health, happiness, love & more.

Congratulations on working out your plan, sticking to it for a day, using up food items that have been lingering, and cooking that delicious spicy beef veggie stir fry. It's always fun to see that first bit come off. You can do it!

I did not weigh today. I will tomorrow. Went over my cals on my birthday by about 400, but had a healthy day.
6 of our lambs have gone to be butchered. I decided to keep 2 young ewes, just because they are so cute. One has horns & behaves like a goat. They can be our future mothers, but only if a stray ram visits.
Just went & hopped on the scales & will ignore what I saw as I have had breakfast & coffee & water. It's OK.
G has gone off to golf & I decided to stay at home & do some chores. D smelt quite strongly last night, even though he is taking steps to try to be fragrance-free. I think it's in his pores. I'm very snuffly & heavy headed today. I'll go for a walk through our bush later.
I'm making a brew today of fresh mint, pineapple sage, lemon balm, limes, apples, a cinnamon quill, ginger & turmeric roots & a little honey.R makes one regularly. It is so much nicer than teabags! I haven't made it before, but it seems like such a good idea. He drinks it hot & cold.

I'm not sure why the forum was down, but I'm glad it's fixed.
The tea was OK, but next time I won't use the peel as well as it overpowers the tea. I have a lot left to drink though! It may get thrown out. There was only a little bit of expense involved, with the honey.
The lambs will indeed go in our freezer. Our sons will get a lamb each & 1 to the guy who helped us with our fencing & lamb wrangling & 3 for our freezer. One of the legs will go to one of the Vets golfers who gave us a leg of Venison, which we had on my birthday.

I played golf yesterday & walked around the 18 holes without too much trouble at all. It was very cold & we got rained on a few times. Only one other woman played & we are included with the men in the comp. I came second & she came 3rd. We had a fun day.

I love how traditional that is :) A friend of my parents (another farmer) had some pretty substantial dental work done once and found out it was going to be expensive. So while she was in the chair she asked the dentist if he wouldn´t let her pay in natura. Only when he reacted very tensely did she realize that paying someone in half a butchered pig wasn´t as prevalent as it used to be and he instead thought she was offering to pay him with sex. Oopsies :D

It will work well. We always like to pay anyone back for any work they do, but when they won't take any money we find a way.
I was SO tired yesterday & told G that I often think I feel down, but work out it is really feeling very tired. Walking & playing 18 holes of golf on a big course is a fair bit of exercise. It feels good to be playing again. I had a very good night's sleep last night & feel really well rested. I'm playing again tomorrow with the women. I decided to make it my sponsor day. Hopefully, they remember not to wear perfume!

Cate
Are you allergic to perfume. I love my perfume but occasionally can’t wear it around a particular friend. I don’t mind .

I get that about feeling down , sometimes it’s just tiredness . Hope golf goes well today
