Cate's Diary

Hi Cate,

I wonder if we did an informal poll as to how many people on this forum wear a lot of black rather than a color - how many would say 'yes'. I always wore black to hide things- like my belly and any other larger parts-lol. I still wear black. I am not really a guy that wears a lot of color except for my running clothes. My running clothes are all bright colors- blues, lime greens, fluorescent yellow- don't know why. I would never wear those colors normally.

I wear black almost every day. My chef pants and chef coat (and hat) are all black. And, I had a hole in the crotch of my old pair of pants and, because I was far too lazy to just go buy new ones, I chose to wear black underwear to "hide" it.

I think we all have a lot more in common than we realise.
I usually wear black knickers, with my black pants, just in case. I do, however, hand sew up any seams that come adrift.
The top I bought is quite bright, but with navy blue as it's base & I bought it with golf in mind. When I play golf I wear all sorts of colours- hot pink, purple.....
Re: the blood bank. It is disappointing that we can no longer give blood & I am over it. Mine I can understand, but G's not so much. I wasn't with him but assume it's more the having a procedure (biopsy) rather than actually having cancer that excludes him. He can't give blood for 5 years. With me it's never again.
Re:typing with 2 fingers. I am fast. I have never learned to type, but I may just have to now. I usually tap hard with my right hand & that is why I am having so much trouble now. It only dawned on me what was causing it & what it most probably is, after a break away from my laptop. I may just have to start using my phone all the time instead.
Perhaps I could learn to use less words :D Ha!.I'm using just index fingers at the moment & that is very awkward :(
Anyhow. I had better skedaddle. I have some letters to write for the golf club, minutes to type up etc :(

So I have to share a story. One of my wife's best friends is a very self-conscience gay man, and meets many of the stereotypes of that title. But when he dances, it's a whole new thing, unlike anything anyone's ever seen or done, and when Marky Mark's "Good Vibrations" comes along, look out. So that's what happened at our wedding, and he was wearing nice dark pants, black light on, and he split his pants to show of his bright white undies. Surprisingly, it didn't bother him, but I still smile at the image of it.

I do prefer dark clothes, unless it's a hot and sunny day.

I like purple. It's my favorite color! So I have a lot of that. I also have a lot of gray stuff. Last time I went shopping I tried to buy some different stuff though. So I have a few things that are brighter. lol. :)

I love that story LJ. I can picture it :D I so love dancing & also don't feel self-conscious dancing.
I used to wear lots of blue LaMa & also was once a gold jewellery person. I gradually changed to silver & black. I am getting more adventurous with colour. I know green suits me, but I just never ever wear it. I love seeing it in plants etc, but just not in clothes. Yes, I know I'm weird.
Jen, I think that there really are purple people. I went through a purple phase, but wasn't really a purple person. I'm more a red person these days.
Colour is funny really. I like to have black as my base & then add bright colours, especially in Winter, but Spring & Summer this year I am going to branch out. Maybe I may even end up wearing green! (corny pun intended)

OK- Jen has succeeded in inspiring me to have a plan for October. I'll just have to work it out. Exercise for a minimum of 20 minutes 3 times a week is part of it- Mon, Wed & Friday Jen is a good plan. I have been lazy, down & unmotivated. Also very touchy & emotional.
I do need to find another way of typing in diaries. It's good to see the activity in the forum & the support being shown to one another. There are some very good people in our community. Love to all, xoxo Cate

1st Oct 11.30- got back on my dusty exercise bike & did a bit over 5km in just under 10.5mins, while reading some of the fast diet book. I'm moving again!

Thanks LaMa & Caroline. We went to a beautiful gorge, only a 20 minute drive from our home. It was a good walk & a lovely day. I tried sharing a photo here from my phone, but apparently it's too big. I'll try on my laptop in the morning.
We were lucky as it's been bucketing down now for hours!

When angels travel the heavens smile, Cate.
I no longer know how to upload pics to the forum (since that last update), so you still have the advantage of me!
