Ooh, what book did you read?
It was a children's book. Our older son's GF gave it to our grand-daughter for her 10th birthday & she finished reading it at our place a couple of weeks ago & said it was the best book she had ever read. I said I would love to read it, so she said she would lend it to me. I saw her again the next day & she asked if I had read it yet, so I thought I had better read it before she gets here on Friday. The book is called "The Little White Horse" by Elizabeth Goudge. I can see why she loved it. In a very imperfect world, it is a very magical, wonderful book, with a young girl making everything right & resulting in everyone living happily ever after. Our son's GF has gone up even further in my estimation for giving E this book. It was a very special, well thought out gift.
LaMa. I am really used to time differences now, mainly due to having to think about it all the time when my sister lived in the US. It would vary a lot how many hours behind they were- between 14-16, depending on daylight savings. I feel guilty sometimes getting excited about coming out of our Winter & into Spring, but most in the forum live where Summers are much more extreme than here in Tasmania & are looking forward to their Summer ending, so I don't feel so bad. Our curries were delicious, but maybe could have been hotter. I love chillies these days.
Hi
cowboy. I will. I used to think that hunger would kill me, but doing intermittent fasting has cured me of that. I really disliked this Winter in particular because it was incredibly wet. It has hardly stopped for months. Today we actually have some blue sky poking through. They are predicting a wet Spring. I'll stay the course, but sunshine brings out the best in me.
We are heading into town today to see the opening ceremony for the Australian 8-ball Championships & to watch our son compete in the Tasmanian team's event tonight. We will most probably go in a few times. I will have the GK's on Friday night & will be doing lots of driving in the next couple of weeks. It's 60km from here to where they live now & 60km in the opposite direction to where the 8-ball Nats are. We'll pick them up Friday & have them here for the night & then Sat. I will take them in to see their Dad, bring them back & return them to their Mum's again on the Sunday. G has to organise a golf championship all day Sat & Sunday. The next weekend I have them again, but there will be a little less driving.
On Monday G is playing in the Australian Masters singles so that's another trip in. If he wins his 1st match, we'll go back in Tues(otherwise we will be running the vets golf), Wed I hope to play golf, but he is going in to watch some 8-ball matches, taking a couple of older guys in, Thursday we will try to have a home day, Friday kids again(off the bus this time), Sat G golf comp, me with kids, Sun I think D will arrive & take the kids back to their Mum's. It's going to be a bit full on.
We love catching up with our interstate 8-ball friends so that will be fun. It will be difficult doing fast days for the next 2 weeks, but I'll try getting one in per week. It's become overcast again & it looks like it's about to rain again! EEK. I need to buy a good raincoat & a small backpack & get out there walking, regardless of the weather!
