Cate's Diary

Ahhhh that would be good incentive! But seriously I think making that list of 'rules' is a great idea. Without a plan...I know I can kind of veer off track, especially with my eating. You have not gotten that far of track...congratulate yourself for taking control before anything really got out of hand. That in and of itself is something to be proud of!

Thanks JL & Mystic! I have had a great day. I feel really proud of myself actually. It has been a while since I had such a good day of eating well & exercising so much.
I rode my bike 3 times today (in total 16km at about 30kph) & then did my strength training(with barbie weights :blush5: ). I did my 12 exercises x5x2, so 120 reps in all. By the time I finished I was in a lather, but I feel GREAT!!I had a salad for lunch & just had a second apple.
I have been home on my own all day & have not eaten anything I shouldn't.
VICTORY!!

Ooo yes, let´s have a race! I´m starting out at 84.2kg (ugh!) and seeing you got off to such a good start I´m going to have to make this day really count!

That's it then! I was just eyeing off the bottle of wine, thinking I might just have the glass G said he didn't want!!!
OK. I can do this!!

Has it really been three days since I checked your diary? How? Anyways, boy have you buckled down, its inspiring, makes me want to do the same. I really do need to quit with all the wine, I had four glasses last night while out to dinner. Thats like a meal in it self. Barbie Weights, lol!! Is that Australian for out door grilling weights or Barbie as in the doll?? Lol!!

Ha ha KP. Barbie, as in the doll! They are only 2kg each as that has what I have been told I should use by an exercise physio plus now by my cardio. I do them after I have done a fair bit of other stuff usually so am knackered by the time I finish. I'm going to build up to doing more.
I'm a bit like that re the buckling down. It's like the light switch is now back on. It's a pity it just wouldn't just stay on really.
One thing I noticed after my energetic day- I did the crossword in about 5 minutes. That has never happened before! Exercise is good for you on SO many levels!

Yay, more oxygen to the brain! I prefer the Barbie-weight-ticker, the other one looks like the packaging of some kind of artificial diet food.

Ok then. I'll get rid of the other one then. Barbie weight loss ticker it is [emoji2]

:) I forgot to save my data so I´ll probably have a new ticker next time I weigh in. Are we going to weigh at specified times, every morning or just any way it happens to work out?

It doesn't matter much really. I'll probably weigh a few times a week & change my ticker when it drops (hopefully!!)

Didn't weigh this morning as I had jumped into the shower & had to wash my hair & wasn't going to risk it with wet hair. Tragic I know. If I had weighed more I would have been despondent, so din't want to risk it. Instead I feel positive & energetic.
I rode my bike twice yesterday, still had Sunday night's treats of small piece of chocolate cake & ice-cream, kept within my cals (just) &, did I say I feel really good?
I have to go into town to do some grocery shopping, but will change when I get home & get on my bike. Maybe weights again? I have to cook though. G is at work & D, our older son, is coming up for an early dinner.

Thanks Mystic. Me too! Have been on my feet all day & have only just sat down(at 2.55pm). Visited Mum, shopped, walked around town, came home & cooked etc. Haven't ridden my bike yet- I might have to have a nap first! I'm tired & I'm hungry so a nap may be in order.
It would have been my older sister, Jenny's, birthday today. She died of Lung Cancer in August 2005. RIP Jen :beating:

Isn't it funny how there is like, a ritual to weighing oneself. I have to do it first thing in the morning, the earlier and more sleep drunk I am the better, after I pee, butt neked and the scale has to be in the exact spot on the bathroom floor. And then I weigh myself three times in a row even though I know my digital scale is very accurate and the type that gives you the same reading all three times. If I don't do this, if I skip a step, I'm not weighing myself that day. It's bad juju.

There sure is a ritual! I have never heard the expression butt neked & looked it up. Google hasn't either! I usually don't weigh unless I have "emptied my bowels", am still half asleep & feel brave :blush5:
Weighed this morning, expecting a small loss &
still the same!
Soup for breakfast,
Probably soup for lunch at the deli &
Salmon patties & veg for dinner tonight.

Oh this really is funny...we all have these scale rituals. I was literally thinking of putting a piece of tape on the bathroom floor to make sure that I always weigh in the same spot. The scale is tucked in a corner, so I have to pull it out to use it. If I forget to weigh before I eat breakfast..then I really really don't want to. Usually it is right out of the shower, no clothes on and yes I do take the heavy towel off of my wet hair! lol

Glad you are feeling good Cate, I think that the right 'mental' frame of mind really helps with motivation. You are doing great!!
