Cate's Diary

Congratulations on winning! A reason for a trip is a nice kind of prize I think, making memories and all that. Take care of your knees though, you´ll be needing them for a good long while!

I think it's a good prize too & am looking forward to it. We are going with our president & a youngish girl who I am trying to get out playing with the women. She's a lot of fun.

We ended up doing some gardening as well as getting a couple of loads of wood. I rang R yesterday & had a reasonably good talk to him. We are helping him out a little financially, to get him out of the poo he's in. He seems to think what I offered should get him out of the deep poo & we discussed a repayment plan that he thinks he can manage. He is still paying rent on the property :(

It's G's Vet's golf day today & we are heading soon. I always do the bar beforehand & afterwards & fill in the day visiting Mum, shopping, going to the library etc. It's a chilly Autumn morning & looks like raining.

Love to all, xoxo Cate

Hi Cate!

Congrats on your victory! The prize is nice, but the feeling of triumph is also quite nice.

I played last Tuesday and did reasonably well. Had a great front 9 and drove the ball well, and then fell apart long about the 13th hole. Remained frustration free the entire round even after bad shots.

Hope you enjoy visiting Mum.

Mystic- I hope so too. He is working long & hard hours to get nowhere at the moment.

Hi Vee- Winning is always fun & an added bonus. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself at golf. I must admit I felt like a hack golfer as we played in a group with a woman who is an awesome golfer, who has played off 1. She could drive as well as anyone I have ever seen. Her golfing partner had a great short game, so they were a good combo. I wish I had more time to talk to him as he mentioned that his wife is bipolar & has been admitted to hospital twice for treatment. I felt that he wanted to talk about it, but didn't get much of a chance.
Glad you got out there for a game & didn't get frustrated. The more I relax at golf, the better I play.

Mandy- Thanks. My knees are stiff, rather than painful, touch wood. They make a heck of a racket sometimes!

dudeitstime Thank you. I don't know when we'll get to play the game we won as we'll have to fit in with when the other 2 can play. E has a full-time job, delivering mail & female E runs the family's dairy farm. We may play on a Sunday & will try to do so soon as I'm trying to get her out to play on Wednesday's with the women.

Women's golf day today- & it's raining. G headed off in the other direction to play golf in a Vet's comp & wishes he hadn't entered. He may be home early. I'm going to polish off a book, but also get stuck into some exercise.

As of today-
30 minutes minimum proper exercise, not incidental! This will exclude gardening & getting wood. I am going to try to stave off the Winter blues! Daylight Savings ends in 2 & 1/2 weeks & I usually feel a bit gloomy, so it's "Operation Think Spring". Autumn is not pre-Winter, it's pre-pre-Spring! :D

I can't explain it, but I'm fascinated about the whole opposite season thing. LOL You're heading into fall, we're heading into spring. I can totally relate to your gloomy feeling when daylight savings ends. Hits me every year too.

Pre-pre-spring is a lovely season (to me at least) with the clean moist air, the wonderful smell of early morning all the plant/animal activity that go with major changes. 30 minutes a day are hardly enough to feel all of it!

My 30 minutes is exercise, exercise....proper exercise, not incidental. I spend heaps of time outside walking, gardening etc. Specifically I mean work up a sweat riding my exercise bike, doing my weights exercise. My allergies & Asthma get worse now & have already. Smoke creeps back into our house somehow & so does fog :( Our wood heater is a really good one, but I would feel better if I could find a way to make sure the air in our house is clean & smoke free. The smell coming off it right now is making my skin itch. I think it still emits a chemical smell from the paint used on the metal. I'll do some homework to see if it's possible to find some way of stopping that.
I had a good day today & rode my bike, did some weights & also some Tai Chi & some dancing around the kitchen. It felt good!

Meh on the asthma and itching but yay on all that exercise and fresh air! Some things we can´t avoid but you´re at least doing what you can to keep healthy.

Great work on your exercising. Bike riding sounds so fun, but I live in an area where that's not really a great idea. :( I hope the smoke settles for you.

Hey I did some dancing around the kitchen yesterday too, while I was putting dishes away. Kind of felt silly, but oh well. haha! Great job on the exercise! :)

Thanks gals :grouphug: It feels better to be back into it. My arms ached yesterday from the weights the day before. I forgot how good doing weights makes me feel. It's hard to not do them each day, once you start. Dancing while you do housework feels silly, for sure, but it also makes housework less of a chore & turns it into something totally different. Mandy- my bike is stationary :blush5: , but I do have a great view!

Instead of hiding I will tell you that I had a bad day yesterday. I didn't eat badly or too much. I just felt really out of sorts- anxious, down, grumpy, clumsy.......

I have been reacting a lot to things lately(itching etc) & my Asthma is playing up. I have been worrying about R again & not sleeping very well. I took 2 phenergans(sedating anti-histamines) last night & slept well & feel a little better today. I am forcing myself out today, firstly to the market & then I am going to listen to some live music. Our local town has a string festival on & a musician(blues/folk?) who played in Hobart recently (indeed also did a gig at R's house) is playing at noon. I thought I would go see him & also introduce myself if I get the chance.
Sometimes you just have to force yourself to get out!

Sorry to hear you´re unwell Cate :( Hope you´re having fun today and will be feeling better very soon! I know you will, because you do all the things your body needs you to and that has to pay off. Hugs.
