Ah the chicken run. At the bar back home I used to play this one ALL THE TIME: . Don't mind me, when I saw 'chicken run' I had to rock out to one of my faves. :)

Maryann, I really wished I had been able to 'tag' you when I mentioned the chicken run! Are you on Facebook? I am usually so patient but it has been a bit of a struggle! He is settling.........a little..........xoxoC

Mr Vee- I can't open the youtube link for some strange reason. Whatever it is, feel sure that I would not be offended. I have a very strange sense of humour & I am sure that if it is rocking out then I would probably like it. I am an old rocker & will always be!

Hey Cate, great job on the 4 hour golf - OMG!! You are becoming a pro and getting fit at the same time.

Sorry to hear about your son. HAve you tried asking him what's up? As Maryann says you are so positive, hard to understand why he is a tad bit negative??

Hi Mands, he's getting better as he settles down, but will be gone again on Tuesday. Our game of golf was good in the end but it was difficult at first. It is so hard to even try to explain how our son is & I love him a lot & I don't feel like trying to explain it right now, to be honest. He'll be OK, we'll be OK. He needs to find his way in life & he hasn't yet. I hope he does. If he decides to return here & he decides to settle down & be happy then he will be. He is a good person. He loves us, he loves his brother, he loves his nephews & niece.....He just seems to forget once he is away from us.
I had better go eat as I have not eaten much today & it is after 7pm.
I went to the podiatrist today & he advised me to cut down on golf a little especially before we go away. I have had lots of pain under my right foot & apparently it is because the 2nd toe, next to my big toe, on my right foot has turned into a hammer toe & the bone underneath is jarring. I have not mentioned it in here but it has been really painful for about a month. He suggested golf only once a week, rather than 2-3 times. :(
He cut a hole in my orthotics & it feels better already. He said it should settle as it is probably inflammation as well. He seemed to feel confident so I will be too.
Had a nice day with my LH (lovely husband) today. I do hope that our younger son will find someone to love, who will love him, as much as we do. Whether they live here or in some other part of the world I really hope he finds it!
xoxo Love to all, Cate

Hey Cate - sorry - I don't get to facebook - ... but I have a lovely image in my mind of chickens's running with golf-clubs...too funny...

- for MrVee's link - your web-browser might screen links- try going to YouTube directly..then search "the milkshakes" and "run chicken run" ... I think U will like it ( made me smile) :)

... I am hoping for good things for your son... my brother was a bit of a rebel in his youth too , but he did meet a really nice gal - and he's turned out pretty good ( although he too still has his moments... ;)

..sorry to hear about your foot - at least it is nearing end of the golf-season there...so you will be able to give it a rest... ah...the joy's of middle-age...our bodies just need a little more TLC than they used to...

hope you have a nice weekend,
cheers ,maryann

Hi Maryann, It's funny though that you never feel any older mentally! I don't anyway. My foot is a little less sore today but I am about to play in a tournament with my LH. I may take some pain killers before I start I think. Wish me luck! No frozen chickens as prizes today, but some lovely things that we bought from a home decor place that we like. It is all good stuff, that we could happily use :D It should be a good day. There is so much organisation for days like this & it would be good just to play & have someone else organise everything, for a change.
Our son is with friends & we may see him this afternoon. He is staying with his brother tomorrow & they are walking up to the Walls of Jerusalem tomorrow, which will be really good for them both. He flies out Tuesday.
My husband has to go for a scan tomorrow as his prostrate reading was elevated. Fingers & toes crossed!
Love to all xoxo Cate

Hey ya Cate,
Wow, you are going through some stuff right now...toes, husband's prostate, son's situation...and you are doing great through it all! May be a smily face on the outside and a grimmace on the inside (would be for me!). My foot is still sore (arch)...I think I may have messed mine up when I was trying a "run barefoot" phase and trying to run striking the ball of my foot first...problem is my flat foot doesn't want to strike that way normally and when I forced it, I may have strained something out of place and it's hurt ever since :-( I got flat feet from my father...genetics...sounds like your toe could be being your genetic too...hope you are feeling some relief soon! Do take care of it...you don't want to be feeling bad walking or riding the subway around Rome and Paris!
Will keep my fingers crossed on your husband's tests...been there...not easy, you can message me privately if you want on that subject!
Have a great Sunday down in Tasmania Cate. We see our vacation pictures of Hobart (we were there during the wooden boat festival) and Richmond and just smile every time!
Sarah

Hi Sarah, My foot is really hurting after the game today & I will take it easy from now on. I think I'll stick to once a week until after our trip. My husband & I won division 2 today & we had a great time. I had to take 2 lots of pain killers though, to get me around, so that's not something I want to repeat. I am getting excited about our trip now, especially as it's now next month! Thank you sweetie for saying I can pm you about the scan. I am a very positive person & I am not expecting bad news. Some say that's stupidity but I'll stick to being positive, until you hear otherwise. I'm really glad you loved Tasmania. It's a beautiful place to live. I hope you'll come back another day & stay with us. You would be more than welcome. xoxo Cate

Scan- My husband's prostrate scan was A OK!!! My foot is not hurting as much as it was yesterday, so hopefully it will settle down. Had a tiring day today really & am pleased to be back home, with my feet up. Cheers, Cate

Good news on the hubby's prostate exam. Probably something I need done in the near future myself.

Thought you'd like to know that I played golf yesterday and did so quite badly.

Hi Mr Vee, glad you had a game of golf, even if you think you played badly. Golf is such great exercise & if you really did play badly you probably had more exercise than if you played well! Funny that! There are not many sports that the worse you are at it, the better the exercise!
We thought the scan was OK, but when we got home today there was a message from our doctor & she wants to see my husband about it, so that's a slight concern. You can laugh at me because I am such a positive person that I had typed worry, but changed it to concern! There is just NO point worrying about things you have no control over. Yes, you probably should have your prostrate checked. A simple blood test will show any abnormalities, without the other test (that is often joked about) being necessary ;) I think this is my version of 'drunk posting' although I am only a little tipsy! :D
Have seen off our younger son, back to Canada, via Ireland & the visit ended on a lovely note. His plane was delayed & we spent that time chatting over coffee at the airport. It was the 1st time he REALLY relaxed while he was home & I was very grateful for it. He did make the mistake of not logging off Facebook on my laptop so I was able to type "is missing his Mum already <3" He spotted it already, but not before some of his friends saw it. He has also left it there. :D
Cheers xo Cate

Hi Cate, catching up a bit on diaries today as I was MIA for a few days. Well done on your and hubby's fab golf game. How's your leg doing? And I think your hubby will be fine. i'm also very positive and just keep the faith that all will be ok. Crossing toes and thumbs and everything!
Sneaky sneaky on the FB - but ingenius!! :)

Hi Mands, unfortunately our YS is stranded in Sydney as his passport was rejected at the airport! I am over, totally over him being so dis-organised. Over, over, over!
Today was SO hot! It was such a struggle playing golf. I had my best ever score on the 1st nine & then added 12 to my next 9! Narrowly missed winning my division & only lost on a count back. I DO know that I capable of playing much better but need to put the shots together. I am VERY hard on myself. I think "crap shot" because it is not perfect, & I hear "great shot!" Hmmmm......hard to change your core personality....
So tired tonight so will head off. Love to all xoxo Cate

Was actually feeling quite down yesterday & stressed so am relieved that today I'm feeling brighter. Not full of beans or fighting fit, just much better. It is very hot again. This Summer was our hottest on record! Eating well today & may have a day off wine I think. Love to all xo Cate

Hey Cate - glad U are feeling better gal.
Good work on better eats today- healthy eating always make me feel better.
I am glad to hear you had a nice visit with your y.s.- but amusing that he got stranded in Sydney - .... I can think of far-worse places to be "stuck".... hope things go ok for him.

Getting excited on your vacation preparation ?.... I love the final few weeks before a big-trip... so much anticipation...so exciting.......make sure U do some of your bike- so your legs are nice & strong & fit for all that sight-seeing walking ! ;)

I'm glad someone is amused by it-lol! I am getting excited about our trip now. I got our bags down today & am going to sew a couple of Tasmanian cloth badges on them- 1 with a devil, the other a Tassie tiger. Feeling pretty good tonight, after a few naps in my chair! xoxo Cate

Hey Cate,
Glad you are feeling better tonight...a good nap does wonders doesn't it?!
I heard about the Tassie tiger when we were there...so do you think they still exist? It was really dry when we where there...have you had rain lately?
I'm getting excited about your trip too! I know you'll have a grand time!
Sarah

Hi Sarah, I don't think Tassie Tigers still exist, but I once did. Some old timers that we knew when we ran a country pub told us that they had seen them & I am sure that they were telling the truth. It is so sad that species are vanishing. It's a disgrace. I hope that we do everything we can to save the Tasmanian Devil, which is being threatened with a nasty, contagious, facial tumour disease.
We had a day's soft rain about a week ago, but we need a lot more. It is SO dry!
I have brought our bags out & am going to start making lists. Excited, excited, excited.....& just a little bit nervous.
xo Cate

OK. Kate is back & all revved up, so I will take on some of that energy & re-focus. Thank you Kate! Love you xoxo Cate
