Cate's Diary

About to head for another haircut. I didn't have enough taken off last time & hair is hot, especially playing golf. My hair has been curling up at the ends when I get really hot & it is annoying & I want it GONE! I would love it really short & spiky. I hope the local hairdresser can cut it how I like it. Worth a try, rather than a 120km return trip to the Launceston hairdresser. Wish me luck! I do love having my hair cut.
Our younger son will be home on Wednesday!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!!
Lots of love to all, xoxo Cate

Got a really short haircut yesterday! The hairdresser called it funky. It feels good!! So excited that our son is arriving tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! xoxoxo Cate

Hiya Cate, a new hairdo always makes one feel like a new woman ready to take on the world! I love it when I get my hair done but mine is long, only had short hair once in my life when I was 15. Just doesn't suit me at all.

Excitement's in the air!!! Wooooot wooooot!! You must be so looking fwd seeing your son. Shame man.

Have a fab day hun x

Hiya Cate, a new hairdo always makes one feel like a new woman ready to take on the world!
Getting my haircut today and wondering if that's the feeling I'll get. Should be interesting.

Have a good time with your son, Cate.

Hi Mands Thanks sweetie. I am really looking forward to seeing our son & am excited. I wish he was coming back for good but I will just have to hope that he does soon. I want him to be happy, but being happy closer to home would be good!

Hi Mr Vee- Maybe getting a haircut will make you feel so good that you WILL feel like a new woman. Finding one that is.....you never know......;) I always feel great after a haircut! I am SOOO looking forward to seeing our son. He & I are similar in so many ways. Instead of trying to get him to change his ways & not make the same mistakes I have made I now enjoy his company a lot more. He feels things intensely, as I do & it hurts me when he suffers but I'm getting better at dealing with it. The love you have for your sons is so strong that you have to step back most of the time. It's a fine balance being there when they need you, but not taking over. Whoops. I'm going on a bit. Sometimes I start typing & the fingers start flying. I'm going to have fun while he's home & make the most of it. I did take today off golf as I realised I had done NOTHING to prepare for his visit. Just because he's family shouldn't mean that I don't even tidy up his room!!

I had better scoot & actually do some housework, instead of just talking about it.
Bye for now, xoxo Cate

Hey Cate -
... enjoy your visit with your son home ... so great ! ....

... really like your new avatar picture... haircut is cute !

... - and don't forget to keep up your healthy eats... your paris trip is sooo close !

...and a question - ... I believe your weight-loss was on Cohen's program?... was it hard to stick to??... I am finding my 1 month now fairly slow loss- starting to think about some options...

cheers, Maryann .

Hi Maryann, I didn't find Cohen's that difficult to stick to, as it is so black and white & also I can be bloody stubborn. I was so determined to lose weight that I actually stuck to it religiously for 28 weeks, without one solitary deviation from the program. It is very strict though & requires lots of planning & preparation. You only eat the listed foods & nothing is unlimited, even lettuce. Everything has to be weighed. It sounds tough but it suited me, as if it wasn't on my program, I couldn't have it. I lost 36kgs in 6 months. Their maintenance guidelines are very sound & I do follow them, except that I shouldn't have to count calories, but do these days. Better scoot xoxo Cate

Agree with you Cate, the Cohen's is actually so easy as its straight forward and the rewards are HUGE if you stick to it.

You are my Cohen's hero Cate :D, hopefully in a few months I can sit back and say I've lost 36kgs!!

Hey Cate,
Hope your visits are going well! So when is the trip to Paris again? I think it's coming up soon?!
I think I'm finally readjusted to being back in China...well, almost...miss that NZ and AUS fresh air!
I love the new avatar picture, and gotta say, me too on the feeling better after a haircut! I even paid the high price on the boat to get a haircut! Amazing how a small thing like that impacts our self image!
Take care and tHanks again for all your support...not only to me, but so many others on here!
Xox
Sarah

Hi Sarah, We fly to Rome on the 22nd of April, so it's countdown time! I have been trying to wait until there was less than 2 months to go before I started planning what I'm taking etc. I bought a wind jacket yesterday to take with me. I have been looking for a similar one to my LH's for a couple of years & couldn't believe I found one. It is as light as a feather, rolls up to nothing & is very comfortable- black, of course! I am going to travel LIGHT. 2 pairs of shoes only, incl. the ones in this main picture-

& a pair of Rockport runners, similar to these, but mine are all grey & black-

I reckon I can manage, just with these 2, but i'll give it some more thought.
I had better get moving as we have an 8-ball tournament to get to. Our son is in Hobart for a few days so we get a breather from him. His visit so far as been a little bit stressful as he has not settled down at all. Hopefully he will as it has been REALLY exhausting.
Love to all xoxo Cate

Rome.....OMG photo paradise. I would go mad with photos there. Our next holiday I would like to go to Venice, Rome & Florence - just for the architecture and scenery - I would probably take 1000s of pix. Cate you gonna have to take some pix and maybe put in on your FB so I can see.

Im sure your son will settle down soo - good luck hun x

Mands, I know.... Rome....Italy......SOOOO exciting!! I think that this time I won't be taking so many pics.....just enjoying the experiences. Pics I rarely look at. Living and experiencing are so much better! I don't think we'll be getting to Venice unfortunately. If we can manage it I will, as I really love Donna Leon's books, set in Venice.
I hope our son settles down before he leaves again. I really do!
Thanks for your visit sweets, xoxo Cate

Cate, your Rome vacation sounds so nice...I have been there once (and wouldn't you know it, the weekend I was there, the electricity went out all over Italy and everything was closed...even the Sistine chapel (which I really wanted to see!). I've also been to Venice...very romantic with all the water taxis and old buildings...I really liked it...and Florence...a city that is best explored on the inside with all the museums...just down the road from Tuscany...a lovely part of Italy...can you tell I like Italy? I can't speak the language, but the scenery is beautiful! I agree with you on living the experience...the pics never do it justice.
As for the shoes...travel light my dear! Travel light!

Keep up the good work!
Sarah

We will be travelling light Sarah :) I look at people with massive suitcases & feel so sorry for them. What a pain that must be!
Off to golf today even though there's pea soup fog, as I missed last week. Back to logging food & exercise today. I NEED to!
xoxo Cate

Played golf quite badly, but it was still 4 hours of exercise! Our ys was back home when I got home. He is quite negative this trip &, as much as I love him, I am finding it fairly difficult. Hopefully it will get better! It's actually chilly here today on the last day of Summer. What a Summer we have had! We are going out to play 9 holes of golf in the Chicken run today with our 2 sons, which will be lovely. I hope it warms up a bit though!! Brrr xoxo Cate
