Hi Sarah, It is tiring, but yesterday I took time out & stayed at home for most of the day. I did the 5k, then helped my LH get wood & then in the afternoon my sister & I went for a big walk around our block. It was quite exhausting. By the time we got back to the house we were tuckered out. So much so that my sister who was walking in front of me, walked within 1 metre of a snake & didn't see it! It was fairly big &
went under our house!! Later on I was out on the decking, telling my LH & showing him where it had been & I commented on how some of our tomatoes are almost touching the ground. I pointed towards where & there was the snake! We yelled out for my sister to come look but it disappeared again behind a garden bed! She came out & we moved around, trying to get it out in the open. It stayed behind the bed. We went around the house & watched from outside the yard & saw it curled up in the sun. I was happy that my sister got to see a snake but not so happy that it was in our yard where the dogs go!
When our OGS arrived off the bus it was inside our yard again & he & my LH got a good look. They frightened it off into the paddock.
I rang our son, who has done a snake handling course & he rang back later to say it will most probably be a male who is travelling & will move on. We'll keep an eye out & let him know if it doesn't. We looked it up & feel sure that it's a Copperhead Snake. It was over a metre long.
Today- We are taking our Mum out for lunch somewhere & a bit of a drive around the countryside & then may just do a wander around the op shops & our local town.
Sunday I'm driving up Cradle Mountain & also taking our YS & his gf, who are both staying the night & then bussing it back.
I'm eating very well & have been very active. I may have to put a rocket up that little driving man in my signature as it would be nice to get down to 78. It might take a week or 2 off wine to do it, but do it I must.
Lots of love to all, xoxo Cate
