and then.....
I got another call from a friend of his I didn't know and then
I got another call from his GF & we had a good laugh and
so I rang the tour company at 11pm our time & 8am yesterday Peru time and he said someone would check the arrival time and pick him up so then....
I went to bed.
Only to be woken at 1am by our son saying....
The flight that he had managed to get a seat on that had been delayed was then cancelled so....
"I'm in Santiago, Chile as they offered me this flight instead. Could you ring the guy in Peru & tell him what flight I'll be on. They have only given me 3 minutes to ring & it's almost up. They have put me up in an hotel for 3 hrs with lunch provided & a 3 minute call. It's up Mum, gotta go, love you"
So I tried to ring the guy in Peru but our home phone had no dial tone. Ten minutes later still no dial tone so I bit the bullet & rang on my mobile. Ouch!
I was as quick as I could be. I feel I'm starting to get to know this bloke. He knew who I was straight away so this time it was very quick.
So then, wide awake, I put a quick msg on FB & went back to bed, but smiling this time. He really must get this Telstra phone card that I have sitting here for him. It was promised in 5 days but did not arrive until the Mon after he left. I want him to ask at the hotel in Lima if it is ok to post it there or to the tour company so that he has it from Peru on.
Overnight of course the phone was out of action.
I got 3 messages on my mobile from friends of his. How nice is that!
Today is a relaxation day.
I'm still feeling pretty yucky and my eyes sting so have confined myself to home. I haven't been anywhere since Wed am so am starting to get a bit stir crazy. Oh well. Too bad. I've been to Rio, Santiago & Peru this week it feels. No wonder I'm tired.
Weight- Perfectly stable at GW +1.5kg, despite eating potatoes, pumpkin, green beans and a little dark chocolate 3 days in a row.
I'm following maintenance guidelines to the letter as to when I eat what or drink wine etc. They work.
I ate some garlic bread night before last which made me feel bloated but was delicious. It's just going to be an occasional thing, not an every day thing.
I never have a glass of wine without having some protein beforehand.
It feels so good to be a bit more relaxed about food, instead of scared.
I will never let myself go up more than 3 kgs.
Starting tomorrow our son will be on a tour of Peru. It will be a hard slog but he is very fit. It's a very basic, cheap tour and he will love it. I think he may end up shortening his time in Miami & lengthening his time in Ecuador. I think he is much more interested in seeing different cultures & experiences, rather than a touristy, luxury, party place, which I imagine Miami to be. I may be wrong.
OK- I have probably exhausted you all as well so will give you some peace.
Cheers for now, Cate.
Now I can say cheers!!
