Cate's Diary

Let's try, Liza xo

I agree with LaMa Cate . It is a good assumption. It's sort of similar in the uk . They have let so much go ahead. I feel we are screwed abit here in Ireland as thousands of folk return from a 4 day racing festival where I believe hygiene was non existent. The uk should have said no to the festival and the idiots that went from Ireland should be in self isolation on their return. It won't happen. For what it's worth the cases in Australia are low. Let's hope it stays so.

At least you are all prepared to cosy up in your lovely safe environment now for a month if you need too .

Hi, Petal. I just wish the government would make firm decisions. I really get anxious about uncertainty.
I'm fasting today & going to go for a walk in the bush (it has been a while) & do some house cleaning!

I agree it’s unfair . The uk is not being clear either . It’s worrying . I’m happy Ireland are being quite forceful . Try not to get anxious . There is nothing you can do but go with flow

Thanks, Petal & Liza. I got outside & gardened for ages, after doing housework & that was really good for me.
I just got a call cancelling our dentist appointments on Thursday. I was expecting that.
I sure am looking forward to dinner! Salmon & veg coming up :D

Thanks, Amy. I'll get outside again today as I am really feeling anxious.
I know that it would be best for us to stay at home & not go on this trip. I want to stay at home & stay as safe as I can. I wish our government would make firm decisions, that would take away so much ambiguity & uncertainty. Our trip is so tangled up with other people & responsibilities.
I feel really sick with worry. I'm not so worried about getting C19. It's always difficult for me to travel with my allergies/fragrance sensitivities. Imagine what everything will be like with antiseptic handwashing/spraying.
Our friends who we're sharing the house with are already over there slowly winding their way up by car. I would have felt better if we had gone with them I think.
The more you worry, the more you worry.

I think you should feel free to cancel if that's what you want to do Cate. It's an uncertain time and I think people would be understanding if you decided not to go especially as you say, you have bad allergies and sensitivities. Have you proposed the idea of you not going to people it would affect? I'm doing much more social distancing than a lot of people around me are. It's sometimes hard but everyone seems to understand.

For what it's worth, my Qantas-employed contact says she doesn't think travelling by plane is high-risk - but I am myself not keen. If everyone on the plane hasn't been to a hot-spot, it should be all right?

Golf is at least a good distancing sport - you can play all day and not get within two metres of another player! (Or so I think, but I'm not a golfer.)

You may not worry (and I´m glad you don´t) but you are at higher risk of being in real trouble if you do get it. And G may be as well? So please be careful. Make good use of the wonderful sanctuary the two of you have created.

Cate I totally understand your concerns . And it's not just the plane it's the airports . Although I suspect it's very clean and just wear gloves and a mask you would be ok . When are you supposed to travel ? How would it affect the people you are meeting ? I am pretty certain the only thing stopping you cancelling right now is not wanting to let other people down.

The more you worry, the more you worry.
Yep, that's how it works with me as well. I don't know enough to advise you as to what to do, but not worrying would be great. If you can figure out how.

I am sure you will make good decisions, whatever they are, you are a smart lady. Enjoy yourself as best you can!
