Cate's Diary

I needed that laugh, thank you!
You're welcome :D
Petal- It was very exciting. I think if I waited for my mojo I was going to be waiting forever, so I am just going to get out there. I am in my neck to toe working outside gear & G & I are going to get a load of wood. The chainsaw should frighten off any snakes, but I'll be covered, just in case. I think we should always have a pressure bandage in the ute, just in case, so I'll go get one.
I like that it is a bit cooler today. Exercise is a lot harder in hot weather(for me anyway).

I just read out the snake bite treatment to G& had to read it twice. Then I said that you don't apply a tourniquet & why not. I'm glad I read it to him & he then got it.
Our neighbour above just rang to tell us that she has put in a complaint about the neighbour below us as his long grass is putting us all at risk. She has also contacted the fire chief in town asking him to come up & have a look at putting an exit track through her back fence. She complained that no-one came last time she asked, & I said that almost all the volunteers work full-time & when they knock off work they are out helping put out fires at the moment. I said I was going to wait until things died down a bit before I rang the local fire brigade to see what we could all do to provide some escape routes. Meanwhile, I said we were going to keep trying to clear our property of fire hazards. I also told her about the snake.

All those fires do make me feel less guilty to be feeling excited about our upcoming spring bringing on your autumn. Let it rain!

Thanks, Petal, LaMa & Em.
It has rained for most of the night, which will be great for damping down most of the fires. I hope the rain was widespread. I haven't got time to catch up properly as we are about to head for Hobart for a couple of days. We're catching up with an old friend & his new GF. I had better skedaddle xoxo

Hi Cate! Glad you figured out your snake bite kit! I have trouble exercising when it is very hot, too, and usually go swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking. I wonder if there are local dance things you could join, too? Like here there is a free swing dancing group that meets down by the docks to play music and dance together. Actually my friend and her husband met there.

Hope you have a wonderful time in Hobart and that the rains gave everything a good soak on your beautiful island!

Marsia I read that as swinging first off lol . Sounds like fun .
I’m always embarrassed getting in the pool so I don’t go . Terrible isn’t it . Hopefully the weekend is going well Cate xo

Hi Petal! No, sorry, not encouraging Cate to swing!

I wear surfer's rash guard tops and bottoms when I feel self conscious. And I have bathing suits that have built in skirts. Even when I get skinny I am going to wear these types of swimwear, because I do not like tight fitting clothes - don't like the attention when skinny or when non skinny!

Have fun!
We did, LaMa:)

Marsia- I think we had better be prepared at all times as we saw another one this morning. This time it was a Tiger snake! It is much cooler & was raining lightly as well so they are very active at the moment.
We had a lovely time in Hobart, thank you :)

Petal- I'm the same, even though I bought myself a swim dress, with swim tights to go under it. The w/e was excellent, thank you :)
Hope you're having an enjoyable visit with your friends.
Thanks, Em :)

LOL- I should hope not :D

Had a great time in Hobart. I am very tired though. Did lots of walking, ate well & need more sleep. Our friends GF is lovely too. They seem really happy.
Oh, & when we got home there was a Tigersnake near our letterbox. He wasn't as big as the Copperhead though. We haven't seen a snake for a couple of years & then we see 2 within a week. Ouch.

OK- I'm on day 12 of IF (16:8) & I am wondering how long it will be before-
a) I stop being SO hungry in the morning
b) Will actually lose some weight.
It is so much easier to stick to any plan once you start seeing & feeling results so I am hoping it will be soon.
I have decided to keep doing what I am doing until the end of February (not counting calories & still having a glass or 2 of wine if I feel like it in the evening, but mostly consuming <1500 cals per day) but in March I am going to be much stricter &
a) Count calories &
b) drink no alcohol at all.
I really want to lose some weight before our trip at the end of April. I feel fine about myself, but miss feeling slim. Carrying these extra kilos, especially around my middle, does change how I feel about myself & I don't like how I am feeling self-conscious & less confident.

I know it is easy for most people in here to cut out alcohol altogether, but wine, in particular, has always played a large part in our lives. We have both always been connected to the industry in one way or another. It's hard to explain to people who have not lived their lives in hospitality. Our meal in Hobart with friends at the weekend was a wine-matched degustation for example. Luckily our income or lack of it precludes us from partaking of events like this on a regular basis. It was a one-off but was sensational.

Now I think of it, I am lucky not to have gained weight after our weekend away. I still stuck to the 16:8. Actually, I think my eating window was reduced.
OK- enough talk about eating & drinking. I'm going to hop on my bike & also drink some water!

I usually don't lose weight with an 8 hour eating window. I usually maintain it with 8, and lose with around a 6 hour window. Lately I have been worn out, so have just been doing the 8 hour and maintaining, but will start up on the 6 again soon. Have you tried having lemon in hot water when you wake up? I do that with a couple shakes of salt, and it seems to help with hunger. I also increase my healthy fat intake if I am waking up hungry and don't worry about losing weight on those days. After a few days with no cravings, I naturally don't eat as much and then lose weight usually from eating in a smaller fasting window. Hope it gets easier soon!!!

Really glad you had such a wonderful weekend!!!
