Cate's Diary

Cate!

How exciting to read about a new adventure with a new client! I love working with young people! i am sure you will be the perfect person for the job... just remember it will take time to settle into this one too! look forward to hearing all about it! When do you actually start? Will she be coming to your house for that day?

I too would love to hear about what your consultants said... any help for the "after Cohens" life the better!

Hi Cate

Just wanted to pop in and say hello, I have not dropped a line for a while but I have been reading.

Good on you for getting into your bathers, I can't wait for that.

I hope your legs are feeling better.

Keep up the cohens you have done so well, you are an inspiration to have come as far as you have. I just love you before and after photos, to look as good, trim and terrific as you is a motivation to me.

Goodluck with you new client, it sounds like a challenge, but I bet it will be very rewarding even if it get hard at time. I wish you all the best.

Hi Sam, I put that email advice in your new post re after Cohen's. I finished at 2 today & have had a bit of a lazy afternoon. I came home with a headache & relaxed in my chair & even had a cat nap. Speaking of b..... cats my client's mum has another one. Ooohhhh I think that's why I got the headache as I was asked to hold it for a while. Ouch.
Hi Kannadew, I am looking forward to the challenge & I also love working with new people. I see it as a genuine need to have the right person for her & I hope I can do the job well. It will be good to have a contrast as well. It must be very hard for her grandmother. She must be special.
Lauren & I did not end up meeting after all but will make sure we catch up next time as they are determined to come back to Tassie within a year.
My LH had a very busy day at home & transformed our driveway. It looks really good. It was a hot day too. I came home with such a headache. These cats are not good for my sinuses or asthma. There's not much I can do about it either because the new feline family member is only 4 weeks old & can't go outside yet. It's a bummer really.
I am going to try something new tomorrow at work. I am taking my beading box with earring bits & pieces & attempt to interest my client in making/repairing some jewellry. She loves beads & has a lovely necklace with a missing clip so I'm using that as a lead-in. I said we'll try to fix it.
I can sleep tonight without the compression stocking & was able to take the extra padding off this morning & shower without it. Phew! I am glad that I am having the treatment now even though it is hot as in Winter it would be worse as you cannot help getting the stocking & bandaging wet & it would take forever to dry & would be cold.
I will go have a look about & might pop back, cheers, Cate
PS-Sal- Hi!! We must have been typing at the same time. My legs are getting better all the time. I didn't have much trouble with them really. It's just the veins were ugly & made me too self-conscious to wear skirts or shorts. After my long bush-walks they ached a bit. They are looking very bruised of course as they are injected to break them up & disperse the blood but I can see a big improvement already. Thank you re the photos. You can tell from the look on my face in the afters how good I felt. It was nice to buy something more colourful, instead of hiding behind black, black & black all the time. I still feel better in black but will get more adventurous next summer. I can't wait to have the confidence to wear a summer dress with bare legs! Next summer! Cheers, Cate

missed this post.

Hi Sam, No I haven't lost 4 kgs in the week but I am back in the zone & feel confident it will be gone soon. I won't weigh until next Monday. I wish!! I had only just got the email from the clinic but will check it out & do some cutting & pasting.
I'm just having a quick look now & will be back later. Lauren is in Tassie!! They arrived today. Will catch up Saturday. Cheers, cate

Hi Cate sorry I missed this post. Thanks for putting that info in the strategies thread. And glad to see you are back in the zone. I hope those legs of yours or getting less painful and are clearing up as well.

Take care for now.

Sam:)

Hi Cate

Thanks for you words or wisdom in my diary, you support is wonderful it really help me get my head back in the right space.

I too will be looking forward to wearing a short skirt next summer. The main clothing item in my wardrobe at the moment is very long black skirt down to the ground to hide the legs, and also draps well over the gut.

Anyway gotta go, my daughter has just arrived home from her visit with her aunty for the night, better go give her a kiss. Yes the pic is of my daughter, my little miracle. Thanks for the lovely comments, yes she is beautiful, but I am a little bias with being her mum.

Hi Sam, You're welcome! You sound much more relaxed these days. It's good that the unmentionable problem has been solved & you can relax in your own home. I'm not mentioning repping again, either, by the way. :svengo:!
Hi Sal- We offer one another mutual support. I get as much as I give, believe me! Your cute little daughter will be proud of her slim mum next summer!
My day- I worked an 8hr day today but quite enjoyed it. Each day in my job is so very different. It depends a lot on the rest of the family, my client's mood, the weather..... Today was good. I have to be so very careful & it feels like I am walking on egg shells sometimes. I am often asked about other workers & am determined not to be negative about any of them even though I know one is trying to undermine the others, including me.
Karma....
I am a bit embarrassed about the repping thread. I wish I had typed nothing.
I'm also a bit tired, but quite relaxed & will say goodnight for now, Cate.

Hi Cate

Don't worry about the repp thread. I genuinely believe that the info you and Lauren left was deserving of some acknowledgement. But please don't lose sleep over it.
I read through all the other posts and it appears that this repping thing has many grey areas.
Cate you sound very busy with work, I hope you are managing some timeout for you on your days off and are treating yourself now and again.....someone had mentioned this to me recently and I realised I have been so busy with the kids, school and trying to lose the weight....that I had forgotten to do anything for me.

"So please [remember] take care of you".

Sam:)

Weight down to 72.5-what a relief!
I had been feeling a little down about my weight recently. I am not certain what I have been doing wrong but put it down maybe to too much fruit.
Sam- What I meant about the repping was the attention it drew from others. I appreciate being repped for genuinely helpful posts. You are right about not taking time for myself. You may not remember but ages ago I was encouraged to treat myself to a massage or manicure or something similar & I confess I never did anything!
I have had a reasonably relaxing day just pottering about doing some housework. I enjoy it when I'm not feeling pressured to do anything in particular. I am going out with my husband to his golf club as he has organised a tournament & I have offered to help with the catering. I also want to catch up with an old friend who I haven't seen for over a year. He hasn't seen me since I lost weight although we msg one another occasionally.
It's a beautiful, sunny day in Tassie. It's not too hot. I am able to take my stocking off tonight until after the next treatment. I'm getting used to it but will be pleased when I no longer need it (until my next O/S trip anyway)
Does anyone have any good exercises for me specifically for my legs. My thighs & knees need some serious attention if I'm to wear a dress or shorts next year. I'll have to start looking at the exercise posts I think.
I had better not spend too much time in here today or I won't go to golf. I have to attend a compulsory work meeting(don't know if I get paid for it- I'll email & ask) in the next week or so(have 4 choices of dates) & may go tomorrow & do some clothes shopping. I don't have many clothes yet. I will need some warm clothes as I froze last year. Fat keeps you warm. I def. prefer thermals!
Cheers for now, Cate

Well I put my 2 hours down on my timesheet & faxed it. It would have been crazy not to have been paid for it so I didn't email & ask.
I didn't buy any winter clothes or boots as it's too early but...
I did buy a pair of black Birkenstock sandals(25% off); beautiful soft leather black shoes(also 25% off-different store); a black & white striped top(70% off); & a black light-weight smart black jacket, zip-front(also 70% off- same store, same brand- nice
I'm very pleased with my purchases so am glad I went to today's meeting because it was in a town I only rarely go to.
The meeting was ok & gave me an opportunity to have a quiet word with my boss which should sort a few things out. She was surprised to see me there & actually thanked me twice for going. That was because it was a fair way from home. I wanted to get it over & done with.
I am really enjoying restricting my eating again & following my consultant's recommendations & eating Cohens during the day, no Carb's except for Saladas during the day & then a "normal" meal at night with one serve of Carb's, perhaps a glass of wine, perhaps not. It feels good being in control.
I might not be back tomorrow as I'm working all day & then out to 8-ball at night.
Cheers, Cate.

Hi Cate.

Feeling in control that is what I wrote about in the strategy thread. I now know if I am not following some type of eating plan I just go awol and my slight deviation turns into days - week and well you get my gest.
I am glad to see you had a day of indulging yourself aswell. With regards to your exercise question I have done aqua aerboics in the past and found this a great form of low impact and great allover toner especially the leg and arm department. I think kanndew is doing this as well. The other thing you can get to use at home is a resistance tube. Hope this helps???? Have a great night.

Sam:)

Sam- Resistance tube? I have no idea of these things. I would love to go to aquarobics but there is no local pool. The nearest aquarobics is 40km away. I wish!!
I had just said to my husband tonight that if we suddenly became wealthy I would love an indoor, solar-heated pool, built off our decking. It would be so nice. I love swimming & being in water. I used to go to a private pool once a week on my own & dance to the music-did my own aqua-aerobics. The pool hasn't been available for years.
I have 5 whole days off- yay!!
I'll be back tomorrow. It's yoghurt time. Cheers, Cate.

Hi Cate

The resistance tubes/bands are used to increase muscle tone. They sell them at chemists and all the major stores like bigw, target....I bought mine at the chemist.
Cate I am so getting into the swimming - I have to admit i am not a natural at it but I think once we have our pool in I will be much comfortable in my own surroundings.
I have always found public swimming pools daunting and do not like showing my body either (another phobia to add to the list).
Cate have a wonderful 5 days off...ENJOY!!!!!!!

Sam:)

Yes, enjoy your time off darls! Well done on getting to your desired weight again. Maybe it was just water or something holding it up? Speaking of which... I better go find my bottle! lol! ;) Jen

Hi Sam & Jen, I typed a long reply to your posts & lost it.I'm having trouble with my connectivity tonight. It must be all the Tassie school kids on the Internet, after their first week back.
I will check out the resistance bands. I would like to get a really good exercise bike but have to do some sweet talking as I have had 2 & sold them.
I haven't the energy to re-type I'm afraid. I have spent most of today summer-cleaning our home. It looks schmicko!! 'Night, Cate

My day-
I am having a lovely, calm, relaxing day. I wish you could bottle that laid-back feeling. It may be because I am having 5 days off & today is only day 2 but I think I just woke up this way.
I had a nightmare in the middle of last night in which I was back plating up meals in the hotel we used to have for 18 years. I woke up & it was such a relief that it was only a dream. Phew! My LH woke as well when I got up & I told him. We are both so relieved that we don't have to work 7 days a week in that place ever again. It was a hard slog.
I am really enjoying pottering about my home tidying & cleaning. I have done my wardrobe & sorted out clothes. I still need to buy some winter clothes. I like the comfort of travel clothes & they are so practical. I might start looking online for some.
I do so like feeling back in control of my weight & diet. By following the advice of my Cohen's consultants it will give my eating more structure. Like Sam I prefer to have guidelines re eating. Reaching goal weight can be very daunting as you then have so many choices & it is very easy to make bad ones & then feel that you have lost the plot.
I am keeping control of what I eat.
I might go have a look around the outdoor store web-sites & see what they are offering in the way of new winter gear. Cheers for now, Cate.
Gee, it's wild & woolly today-very windy & stormy. I hope Lauren & her LB have finished the Overland walk. I would hate to think what it would be like up in the mountains!

Hi Cate,

I'm glad to hear that your day is nice and relaxed. That's definitely the way to spend a weekend. Isn't it just an amazing feeling to be in control of what you eat?? That's the one thing I absolutely looooove about Cohens. :) Enjoy you clean house and the rest of your off days!

Cheers Esthee

Hi Esthee- I hope you have a lovely birthday!
My day-
Had a sleep-in & then another lovely, relaxing, but more sociable day. We visited my MIL (briefly) & caught up with my lovely SIL & then to an 8-ball comp for the afternoon, with a small lunch in the middle. I just had an entree size of satay chicken. It was nice.
Still 2 more days off....nice!!
Nothing much to say today. Just came into the forum today to wish esthee a happy birthday, cheers, cate.

Newbie: Just Started Cohens

Hi Cate

Just joined Cohens (Sunday), feeling excited too.....

Before joining yours and everyone's view helped me to make choice.

Thanks

Hi Macentrap, Great decision. It is exciting!! Starting(& finishing!) Cohens was one of the best decisions of my life. It makes me feel really good to think that I might influence others in a positive way. I look forward to following your progress! Cheers, Cate.
My day-
Pretty much like the last few really. More pottering about the house (one of my favourite pastimes!), another Cohen's day, a bit of reading etc. Lovely. I feel like I'm on holidays. My chicken & stir-fried vegie dinner is almost cooked & I am hungry so will be brief today. Also the Internet connection has been painful lately. So many errors! "Internet Explorer cannot" blah, blah, blah......
Tomorrow's walk is classified as a "hard" one & it's a comparitively long drive to get there unfortunately. Mmm. Not sure if I'll go. I would love to get an exercise bike so I could do some exercise every day. I'm checking them out... difference between recumbent, elliptical, etc etc.
Dinners ready- I'm off, cheers, Cate
