Cate's Diary

We see wildlife EVERY day where we live Lucy. I never take it for granted. Bliss!

I'm in neutral today. It's fast day but I'm not hungry yet. I'm moderately tired, but had about 8 &1/2 hours sleep, the sun is shining.......just reporting in really xoC

We're having a bit of a lazy day today, just pottering about the house, doing the odd chore, some reading. I don't feel quite as odd as I did when I first woke up. I think I was still asleep when I posted this morning. I guess you can't feel on top of the world every day!

Hm, the closest the world comes to an official top is probably the north pole and while (as you southerners know only too well) that´s a pretty firm historically Europe-centric convention I wouldn´t want to spend every day there. So... potter away love :)

I think I once heard someone refer to the platypus as "God's practical joke." Odd little creatures, really cool you got to see one.

Hope your fast day goes smoothly and goes by...quickly.

I've been soooooo tired the last couple of days, thought I was getting a cold. I think I'm just still trying to catch up on missed sleep! Definitely relate to not feeling on top of the world every day... making me feel a bit bla really! Want today to end so I can have a good day tomorrow :D

Thanks guys. My day wasn't a total loss & we got a bit done. G is having a white wine & I've polished off a BIG soda water with the juice if a lemon & ice. I know diet drinks are really bad for you, but I really feel like buying some, just for the 2 fast days each week, especially with the warmer weather coming up.
Lucy- you may have hay fever. Mine is BAD!
I'm looking forward to tomorrow too, but for a different reason- more food!!
I won't pretend that fast days are easy. I try to leave eating many calories until my evening meal so am hungry for almost the whole day!
I'm sure it won't kill me, being hungry. I know that I really appreciate every single morsel!

Wow that is SO groovy Cate!!! You must see some amazing wildlife where you are, how blessed! We seem to have more people seeing Echidna's around here, my sister had one walk into her house when she was living with her ex!! I haven't seen one, feeling a bit left out. What other wild life do you have around you? Are you getting lots of sunshine there too?

Good work on your fast day, hopefully it sails through easily for you. I can totally relate to not feeling on top of the world every day, but it's good to take a break and ground yourself too. Keep up the awesome work Cate. You're doing amazingly!

Thanks BB- you're a sweetie. We live on 50 acres & over half of it is bush. On our land we have seen- Bennet's Wallabies(lots), Pademelons, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Ring-tailed Possums, Brush-tailed Possums, Echidnas, Eastern Quolls, Wombats, Tasmanian Devils, Eastern- barred Bandicoots, little Forrest bats & numerous birds, including Wedge-tailed Eagles, Hawks incl. grey goshawks, an occasional sea Eagle & a gazillion small birds, especially wrens & honeyeaters.
I have ended up having a good day & still have yoghurt & fruit to eat [emoji2][emoji106]
Looking forward to hopping on those new scales tomorrow!!

Bad news- Weighed myself on my old scales & I gained .5kg.
Worse news- Weighed myself on the new scales & they said I was 1.3kg more than my old scales said.
Grrrrrrr!
I feel like taking them back, but that would be shooting the messenger.

Thanks Q. It sure has made me grumpy though. I'll try not to let it get to me, but I might just stick them in the cupboard! Scales :smash: <Me :(

Scales suck. For some reason it's really hard to not let those silly little numbers bother us.

Kind of surprising when there are so many better ways to measure progress (looser clothing, higher energy levels, better moods etc) but for some reason we all seem to trained to be caught up on how much positive or negative movement there is on the scale.

What the new scales say the first time is completely irrelevant. 1.3kg more than the other one just means your goal weight goes up by 1.3 kg, doesn´t it? Numberphile brains still suck sometimes (although I looove Dr Grime if you´ll excuse the obscure reference). Hope you´re having a better day now!

Now I feel a little like a sooky child.....I know it shouldn't matter &, once upon a time it didn't.........
I'm over it!

I will weigh myself on my old scales until we go away in October & then put them away & use the new ones when we get back 2 weeks later.

That will work for me.
There is a weight I want to be & logic will not get in my way. :D

Forgot to mention- further to my Platypus experience earlier in the week...
saw one of these on the way home today(not on the road thank goodness!

When you're grumpy over something really insignificant, you should remember & take joy in the beauty of nature.

Yep. We live on 50 acres & are 11km from a town. There is a lot of wildlife in Tassie [emoji2]
