:blush5: Kate I read your lovely post last night & then was lost for words! :blush5: Thank you sweetie! I guess I don't know.... I love you, too sweetie :beating:

Jess-I'm not actually going under my cals really as I input my exercise, which allows me to eat more, if I want. I am feeling really motivated again & that is because you & Kate are back. This sure works both ways! Reading is one of life's greatest pleasures. I read a great book yesterday! I picked it up from the library as it was a Kurt Wallender story & I love the T.V. series. Unfortunately, it was book no. 10 in the series but I will now start ordering the other 9, in order. The author is Henning Mankell. xoxo Cate
Benny- You are sweet!

Weight- Down half a kilo, so have lost 1.5kg in a week!!
Wine-Going into day 3 without wine. :D
I had better go update MFP right now!
Thanks lovely people. I woke up happy but am even happier now!
Lots of love, xoxo Cate

My bubble got burst today I'm afraid. I had a doctors appointment, which was a callback from a blood test a couple of weeks ago & the outcome is I now have a referral to a Cardiologist for a Stress E.C.G, rather than a resting ECG, which they can do at my local practice. :( My blood pressure was quite high (she took it 3 times & with me standing as well.) I admitted I had been having some mild chest pains lately. They have not been at all strong & I have not noticed that they follow exercise or anything. My dad died of a heart attach at 71 & I'm 61. I came away feeling very nervous I'm afraid!
Our OS just pulled up in his car, so I have to scoot. Will pop back later xoxo

Went to bed early last night & slept for 9 hours! Went to golf this morning, but quit after 9 holes as I felt very short of breath & knackered. Called in at the chemist on my way home & had my BP taken. It was high, but not as high as yesterday. Feel better after a good rest but worrying about it is probably making me worse. I forgot to tell my doctor that it sometimes feels like my heart gives a little skip, but I'll make sure I tell the Cardiologist, when I get my appointment. Bye for now xo Cate

Feeling quite a bit better today, after another 9 hours sleep. I may have had a reaction to the flu injection.....hopefully! Off to the blood bank today. If my BP is high they won't take blood(plasma) but we'll see. My LH can drive today. I usually do- always have.

Aww sweetie.
Sorry to hear you are going thru it, stress wise, big hugs. Hope everything sorts itself out. You're super fit and healthy so doubt it's anything to worry about.
I have one of those weird heat beats and it only happens when I'm super healthy (dr said that it's a 'variation on normal' ) quite a worry when it does it and ya don't know what it is though huh.
Sending you big hugs and tons of love. Xoxoxo

Thanks for all the positivity in my journal!! I've been trying to get in here (and other journals) and read but I've been busy and distracted this week, oops!!

Congrats on the awesome loss for the week, haha and the wine free days!!

Sorry about the BP, I hope everything is ok and comes back normal when you see the cardiologist! Do they make you wait a few months for an appt?

Thanks Kate. My BP was 170/90 & I then told her about my referral to the Cardiologist so they def. couldn't take any plasma. They won't be able to until I get a clearance from the specialist. We had a lovely day. We bought a new stove top kettle for our wood heater, lots of fresh salmon pieces, some frozen white fillets of fish & some frozen Marinara mix (only $9.50 a kilo!)& some cheese from Ashgrove Farm Cheeses, on the way home. We had a healthy lunch & then read for a while & then I suggested getting outside & getting some wood, but we ended up doing some gardening. We are now sitting down again & I am having my 1st wine since Saturday. I will have one more after this & then salmon & vegetables for dinner. I am glad I had 4 days off wine as it broke the daily habit. It is SOOOO much easier keeping to within your daily calorie allowance if you don't drink alcohol.
Anyhow, it's time to check around the diaries xoxo Cate

Kate i'm sorry you have this to deal with but you will overcome it.Fear brings stress and stress is very dangerous.Try to clear your mind about this.It is probably nothng to worry about.worrying about something you dont know yet will only make you feel worse,I didnt understand something. They told you to go see a carfdiologist because something in your blood test?or because of high blood presure.?the exam that you are going to have done heart stress test was it going to happen anyway for precausion?like a check up?

Lucy-sorry, but I missed your last post. I hope I don't have to wait too long. The Cardio she referred me to does not bulk bill, so I'm hoping it won't be too expensive. It would have taken too long in the public health system. I'll try not to worry about it, but it's not easy.
Jess-I know sweetie. Stress is the biggest killer! What happened is I had my regular blood test to check my cholesterol etc & it was a bit higher than last time. The doctor then took my blood pressure & it was high. She took it again, still high. She got me to stand & it was still high. Then I told her that I had been having mild chest pains & have been a bit short of breath, but had put it down to my Asthma. When she asked me about any family history of heart problems I told her my Dad had died from a heart attack, aged 71 years. She then thought that I should have an ECG to check & make sure that my heart is OK. They can only do a resting ECG, which wouldn't show anything & a stress ECG would give a much better picture. Thanks for being caring Jess, xoxo

Yesterday- I had 2 glasses of red wine & ended up going over my calories, mainly because I then also ate more! Mistake! I ate a handful of salty crackers late! :( Funny thing was I didn't even enjoy the wine that much, even though it is normally one of my favourites!
Today- is another day!
xoxo Cate

Just saw this-

I dont think going over your calories wll make any bad difference , since you have been under for a few days.Have a good day today!
Do you think you should exercse the same until you have your tests done?Did you ask your doctor>And when you having it done?sorry for all the questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still want to lose weight so want to keep under my calories, but I know that the odd day here & there, going over, won't make a huge difference. To me, it's all about being as healthy and as active as I can.Instead of stressing out today I have chilled & am having a glass of red wine right now. My letter from the specialist arrived today & my appointment is not for another month. I will try not to give it much thought & will exercise as much as I feel like. I'm going to play golf tomorrow. If I don't exercise surely that would be worse for my heart! You can ask me as many questions as you like Jess. I think you are sweet! xoxo Cate

Well I hope the blood pressure stuff is nothing major. It's gotta kinda suck having to wait to get it checked out, but then I suppose that means they're probably not overly concerned.

Sorry for not having been around in a while, but I've been feeling lousy physically. Starting to feel pretty good now.

Hi Vee. I thought you must have still been ill & it's good that you're now feeling better! I'll hold that thought that they must not be overly concerned. Unfortunately, our health system is being constantly undermined & waiting times are getting longer & longer. Living on an island State, with a population of only about half a million people, we do not have many specialists or doctors. We have had one of the best health systems in the world, but I don't know for how much longer, if this current government has it's way! :(
If something is really wrong we get treated for nothing fairly fast, even without private health insurance. If I got carted off to a hospital in an ambulance I would get treated quickly. I have settled down again & am not worrying about it. I feel pretty healthy. I rode my exercise bike yesterday for over 20 mins & rode fairly fast & checked my heart rate while I did it. It got up to 106 while riding & was straight back to 56-62 within minutes of finishing. Being scared of exercising sucked more than actually having the high BP!

I will cut out wine again after the week-end to see if I can get the scales moving down again. I know it's holding me back! It is Mothers Day today, here in Australia & we are about to go visit my Mum. I dreamt a lovely dream of my MIL last night. It was very vivid & I felt very close to her!

Had better get moving. Our OS is coming up for lunch, after he drops the GK's back at their mother's. We are having Venison curry, vegetable curry & rice for lunch. We bought a whole side of Venison for only $80 & it is delicious. We had some last night as golf was called off, because of the rain & we (my LH) dealt with the Venison. Our freezer is now well stocked with lots of fish, rabbits & venison!

Bye for now xoxo Cate
