Very good day today! Relaxing and lazy, but still managed to stay healthy. If I can keep this up I know I'll get where I want to be.

thank you very much!!! :)

Last night's 3 miler was okay. My stomach was cramping a lot of the time. It was probably the soy chicken from earlier in the day...it's yummy and has lots of protein but it doesn't sit on my stomach right.

Tonight my mom is making me my own vegan pizza---tomato sauce, lots of veggies, and soy mozarella! I haven't had pizza since November so I am really looking forward to this. I keep reminding myself that I still need to watch my intake, even if it's made with vegan ingredients. I used to be able to take out a whole medium pizza by myself (I'm so embarassed to admit that) so I need to pay attention to what my body is telling me as I'm eating. I have always been a bottomless pit when it comes to pizza and Chinese.

1.5 cups Kashi Healthy heart
0.5 cups chocolate soymilk

2 slices vegan pizza- pizza crust, sauce, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, soy burger, and soy mozzarrella
1 apple

30 mins tae-bo Cardio Circuit

Another great day. It's so nice to be at home. I have to get started on one of the 2 English papers I have to write tonight, so I'm definitely not looking forward to that. I am wearing a pair of pants that I could not wear comfortably a year ago WITH A BELT. I am so proud of myself.

Hello

Thanks for visiting my diary thread--you see really interesting. I was vegan for 3 and 1/2 years  Good luck on your weight loss and I'll be poking around..and reading....:D

Thank you Kelly, Curvie Girlie, and Steve....I appreciate the encouragement so much! Sometimes I look in the mirror and can only see how far I have to go...it's great to come here and realize how far I've come. Unfortunately, I will be in class all summer, and broke, so there will be no bikini for me (except the 2 piece speedo swimsuit i wear to the pool). Otherwise I'd be showing off the bod.

I'm thinking about modifying my goal to 145...that's 8 lbs less than I weigh now. 140 was just a random number that I picked. I've been 145 before and fit easily into a size 8 and felt pretty good about my body...of course that's when i was fifteen, and a lot has changed about my body since then. But why not shoot for 140? I'd probably look pretty good. 140 seems so far away at this point. I look in the mirror and see vast improvements in my stomach and hips but the thighs still look the same to me. I know they're an inch smaller. I know they will never be perfect but I just want them to look firm and athletic (and still womanly, of course).

Just wanted to say congrats. I've been lurking..bad bad me.

I know how you feel about the number. But if you want to get nice athletic legs, weight training is the way to go! That's what I've learned in this forum. Good luck!

Thank you mn! My legs have a lot of muscle from running, swimming, etc...there's just a thick layer of fat on top! :) My boyfriend has been trying to get me into weight training, so I might give it a shot. It just looks so boring...says the girl who stares off into space for thirty minutes while running on the treadmill...

hehehe too funny! I enjoy the strength training. It's a challenge for me and maybe you'll enjoy it too. Just have some music jamming and go for it!

Yep I totally agree with Photocrazed! Years ago I was a runner, training for marathons and races and i never saw the muscles underneath. But now, I love weight training. It can be a little intimidating with some of the men that are in the weight room, but I go in and think, who cares. they probably don't mind seeing a female in there once in awhile doing deadlifts in front of them...:p

Why NOT shoot for 140? I was the same way--I'm 5'7" and originally was shooting for 135, then said, what the hell? and am now aiming for 130. Right now, as of this morning, I am 142.0 lbs, and I tell you, I'm really pleased and looking forward to getting to my goal. When I was 158, the goal seemed so far off. But now, a little over 3 months later, I'm only 12 lbs off!

Firm and athletic is the way to go! Best of wishes to you! Keep up the hard work, and BY ALL MEANS, WEIGHT TRAIN! Trust me--only 2 hours a week and you'll see results very soon ;)

Thanks to photo, mn, and Curvie! I'm thinking about giving it a try after Spring Break. I won't build up new muscle if I'm in a caloric deficit everyday, will I? So is weight training just another way to burn calories? This is what confuses me.

I agree. My original goal was 150. I had never been lower than 170 since high school, and 150 sounded so skinny to me. LOL! Now I"m 150 and my new goal was 135. But according to all charts, I could be between 118 and 132, so who knows?

Congratulations on getting to where you are...I'm glad to see you're proud of yourself. :)
