1/10/07 Day 1

Breakfast:
1 cup chocolate soy milk
1 bowl Frosted Mini Wheats

Lunch:
1 peanut butter/jelly sandwich on wheat
1 orange
1 serving mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans)

Dinner:
1 small can of bean dip
1 1/2 servings Multi-grain Tostito's chips

Exercise:
45 minutes of Pilates
lugging my laundry up and down 3 flights of stairs!

Goals:
More fruits and veggies!

Today was a pretty boring day. I didn't have to work much and my boyfriend is out of town. I had to get groceries at Wal-Mart (hate the place!). It amazes me how bombarded you get by unhealthy food as soon as you walk in! The deli is near the entrance (fried chicken!) and the pastries are out. Gross. Don't even get me started on the frozen food aisles! Being vegan there is nothing I can eat from those aisles (except the frozen potatoes and veggies). And all the candy bars by the registers? Who needs it?

Personally I love soy milk. The regular kind has a weird after-taste but you get used to it after a few days. The chocolate soy milk is delicious and tastes a lot like yoo-hoo. There are only about 90 cals per cup too!

Breakfast:
1 bowl GoLean Crunch
1 cup chocolate soy milk

Lunch:
1 bowl oatmeal
1 1/2 servings pretzels
1 orange

Snack:
1 granola bar

Dinner:
??? I'm going out with friends. I'm not expecting anything too healthy on this one. Hopefully we can go Mexican so I can get lots of veggies and rice! I'll update later.

Exercise:
30 mins on the elliptical on the "Fat Burn" setting, level 5 (Tough!)

I had a bowl of GoLean Crunch with a small amount of soy milk before bed last night. I tried to resist but I was starving!!! I should have had a snack around 8 or 9. I wanted to eat more, but after the small bowl of cereal I wasn't hungry anymore so I stopped. Sounds logical but I'm still proud of myself! I'm going to weigh myself on my boyfriend's scale Saturday morning....hopefully I can update my ticker!!!

4 vegetable fajitas (grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli)
chips with guacamole dip
small portions of rice and beans
 
woah... only 20 pounds to go! U can so do it!

Oh, I know what you mean!!! Wal-Mart is the worst store in the world for me! I found that if you enter through the "other door" (yes, there is another door that DOESN'T lead to food :D) and enter the grocery side from the back and work your way up just as far as you need to go, then sneak out quietly through the back like you snuck in, that it's harder for them to get you in their deli, sweets, mmmm donoughts trap! :D Although, you do tend to buy toys for the puppy more that way....:D hehe

Btw, thanks for stopping by my diary! It looks like you've done awesome on your weightloss thus far! Keep it up! :)
 
My parents always end up buying our dog at least one chew toy from Walmart a month. He's spoiled rotten!

I read once that one woman who successfully lost weight always stayed on the outside of the grocery store (meat, dairy, produce) and stayed away from the aisles because that's where most of the processed foods are. I think she was on Atkins or something, because I have to go to the aisles for cereal and wheat bread/pasta. And of course I stay away from the meat and dairy (except when buying soymilk). I thought it was a good idea though.
 
I woke up a little late today (noon-don't laugh!) so I won't be consuming as many calories as usual.

Breakfast:
1 cup chocolate soy milk
1 bowl GoLean Crunch

Snack:
1 small bowl pretzels
1 apple
1 orange

Dinner (what's planned, at least):
Wheat pasta
Spaghetti sauce
1 small slice wheat/oatmeal bread made by my boyfriend's mother

Exercise: Tae Bo Ab Bootcamp. 30 minutes of excruciating ab work! Also works the back, legs, and butt a little bit.

I will probably eat a lot of wheat pasta because it's delicious and I didn't consume many calories yet today. I feel like I'm eating a lot when I eat pasta (usually 1 1/2 plates), but I honestly stop when I am satisfied and not when I'm stuffed. We'll see how it goes.

4 pieces cantaloupe

Chinese- lots of lo mein, some rice, mushrooms, broccoli, fried zucchini, a sweet roll and a piece of garlic bread (2 plates total)

Exercise-took the day off. i exercised six days in a row so i think i deserve it.

I should have eaten less dinner. I HATE buffets! I think I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning. I'm sure it will be the same but it wouldn't hurt to look. I like losing weight, I just wish it weren't this hard....

Welcome to the Forum and it looks like you're doing well - and yes, 6 days of exercise warrents a day off!

Lunch:
Olive Garden- 2 bowls of salad, 1 order of Wheat Linguini w/Marinara sauce, half a breadstick (yay!)

Dinner:
1 bowl Go Lean Crunch
1 cup chocolate soymilk

Snack:
1 small bowl pretzels
1 saucer of apple slices

Exercise:
Running 5.5 mph for 20 minutes on the treadmill. Easier than I thought it would be!

I have eaten out way too much the past few days-I went home to see my parents and they took me out twice and my boyfriend took me out tonight. I am doing better eating out but I could definitely stand to improve. I need to cut out the pre-meal chips and salsa completely. I haven't exercised yet, but in a half hour I am planning to do some Tae Bo cardio circuit training (30 mins).

I lost a pound! It took awhile but I did it. And assuming that I may be retaining water (since it's that special time) I may have lost more than that. It's intimidating that i have nineteen more to go but I know others have had much more before them and been successful, so I can do it too.

Classes start tomorrow....I have an 8am art appreciation class which means I have to get up at 6:30 am! Yikes! There will definitely be some coffee on the menu tomorrow. Black and strong!

Looks like you're doing great with the diet. I love the pre-meal chips and salsa, too! yum! :D

whole wheat pasta with spaghetti sauce w/veggies
1 slice wheat/oat bread

Exercise:
Running 25 minutes on the treadmill

Yummy day! I actually had to go the store because I ran out of fruit! That was a nice feeling. Today was my first day of class. My Southern Lit class is going to be a doozy.... I still can't believe I got out of bed at 6:30am and didn't end up collapsed somewhere. I am so proud of myself--I've never kept up my eating this healthy for this long before! I just can't wait to see how I look in May.

1 apple, sliced
1 serving peanut butter

Rice and beans (2 servings- 150 to 200 cal per serving- can't remember)

Exercise:
Off day!

Pretty good day today. One of my friends asked if I was losing weight and told me my face looked thinner. What a great feeling! I felt thin today, which was nice. My jeans just didn't want to stay up at my waist! I probably won't weigh again for about a month. Classes are going to be tough this semester... I just hope I can handle everything on my plate. No pun intended, hahaha.

Hey Casey :) You seem to have a pretty great start at getting where ya wanna be. Keep up the hard work, you'll be there in no time :)
