Cannon's Journal

I was going to take today as my rest day, but I'm feeling guilty so if I can get this file uploaded in the next 15 minutes, out I'm going.

I was gonna give you rep too saying that they are all true words and to thank you for supporting me as well...but appearantly I need to spread more rep first - LOL...

I did good. I walked the 2 miles in 37 minutes tonight and managed to get back for the phone call I needed to take at 7:00. I'm proud of myself :). Thanks for stopping by everybody.

2 miles in 37 minutes - that's a pretty good clip. Before long, you'll be doing 3 miles in 45, and then 4 in 60. Impressive progress there, Cannon.

Thanks Tom, but I don't think that I'll ever be able to walk for 60 minutes consistently without boredom kicking in. My goal is to cut myself off at 45 minutes and try and go faster and faster. Unfortunately, today is going to wind up being my rest day. We are working from 11-6 today because of report card pickup night. I set me alarm for 7:30, but wound up sleeping til 9 so I didn't get to walk today. I was also going to hit diaries this morning so that's going to wait til tonight. If we don't go out afterwards I'll get my walk in, otherwise today is my rest day.

Good for you Cannon! And I agree with increasing speed, rather than length of your walks. I've read that it's the speed and intensity (also, walking uphill, etc.) rather than walking all day. LOL!

Glad im not the only one who sleeps late occasionally by accident :)

I forgot my alarm yesterday and got up 30 mins after work started lol

yeppers...I try to utilize my 30 minutes on the treadmill to the max I can, between speed, incline and a combo of both...I only have so much time at "0dark 30" in the morning. I try to change it up from day to day....so I don't get locked into workout pattern.

I learned that from a trainer who first told me about IT and I began implementing it rather than trying to add another 15 minutes to my treadmill time (which was already at 45 minutes!!!)

Way to go Cannon! When I was walking in my neighborhood, I would time myself and try to set small goals to complete my route in less time....it was a fun way to compete.

That makes me feel good to know I'm on the right track. One of my colleagues is throwing up so we may not go out tonight. If that happens I may just get my walk in anyway.

So today's my rest day. I can live with that. I love how antsy it makes me. I never got this antsy about ditching school or even work. I take that as a good sign. I'll get the walk in tomorrow. I had a lot of Ohing and Ahing today when I was all dressed up. I also did a nice job of staying in my calories. They ordered Mexican food for our dinner and I partook, but I avoided the deserts and I avoided the sour cream. I also didn't overdue it. I'm going to do some quick diary reading now for the next 37 minutes. Its going to be an early night.

OK I need to definitely squeeze my walk in this afternoon a long with a dozen other errands. I'm sure I will. Been very in control of my diet lately. If I can keep my diet where I want it and kick up the calories burnt by doing those 2 mile walks I'm going to have my weight where I want it too. Hope everybody has a great day.

Yes you will cannon , yes youw ill that is the attitude my friend :):):)

When I walk I like to just walk - I walk at a pretty fast pace but it upsets me when I am fast than I was before b/c then it is less time however Im gettin pretty good at cranking out the miles...

I do however utilize my other work out times...
