I saw Rocky Balboa tonight. I sometimes think of this weight loss journey I'm on as being akin to a boxing match. I won't pretend that the movie was the greatest movie of all time, but it was good...surprisingly good. The first and last Rocky movie were so much better than the ones in between. This movie clearly had a message and that message was that its not how hard you hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. That's a great piece of advice if you don't care too much about your nose. However, I think its a great piece of advice for those of us on diets. If you really want to change your lifestyle you're going to make mistakes, slip ups, and get knocked off course. Success means that those screwups don't deter you from your goal. In some ways you have to be naieve or have a great deal of blind faith to believe that in the face of all the adversity we encounter, we can just keep on going and plugging away to a healthier lifestyle. However, that's just what we're doing and its something I think we can all keep doing. I left the movie and got a salad for dinner. I did have a small popcorn at the theatre, but you know it wasn't a bad day.
