Cannon's Journal

I am back in the routine again which is good. My sister was very impressed because yesterday when we went out to Jimmy Johns I got a smallish turkey on wheat and baked potato chips. On Friday when I reset the ticker, I'll revise my summer goal. I love the idea of using this summer break so constructively. Now, the trick is to keep it going when the stress level rises in the fall.

cannon it feels good to make little changes like that sometimes. You get this instead of the full version you would have gotten before. Its what I try to do. Anything you save off your total for the day seems to help. keep it up...

woot for you! I'm still terribly afraid to go to restaurants. I have a fear of losing control. I'm glad to see you're watching what u eat at restaruants. I always find that soo hard.

Hey Cannon,

This is my first trip into your diary. I just wanted to say that you'll get that water weight off soon.

We're also on the same team for the next challange....Thought of any names???

I must say, I do believe that sometimes the calories you don't eat are as important as the ones that you do eat. For example, I went out to the movies with a friend this afternoon and I had been craving movie popcorn for awhile. I did wind up getting the smallest size they had which I calculated at about 650 calories. Not great, but there were about 1,000 more in the large size which I normally would have gotten. He wanted to go out to lunch afterwards and I know I should probably not have gone after the movie popcorn, but we really hadn't had a chance to talk. The place we went to was Portillo's a hot dog chain which was right next to the theatre. My first choice would have been their double cheeseburger. Secound would have been a couple of cheesedogs---both with onion rings. I wound up getting a chicken caesar and only using half the dressing. I probably shouldn't have had all the croutons, but that was another 1,000 calories I left at the restaurant. I may not lose today--though I still think I'm under 2K, but I left 2,000 calories I would have normally eaten this afternoon behind at the theatre and restaurant. I think I'll just look at this as a victory and be proud of what I didn't eat. Its only by making choices like this that I can see surviving work. I started on a mult-vitamin today too. I think it'll help.

Oooohhhh, Portillos, I went there on my trip to Chicago. That place smelled soooo good.

Good job on your food choices!!

Yay! I had new visitors very cool. I am looking forward to the challenge. My weight should be where it was before the trip if not lower Friday and I'm ready to lose some more :)

Well, I have a trip in 2 weeks to think about, but it doesn't frighten me like the last one. So far, I think I've been really doing a nice job of making choices. I found some delicious whole grain sour dough bread which will make for a great lunch with some turkey and mayo and maybe tomato and some sprouts. Gosh, I seem to have lost a lot of regular diary readers from here since I got back from the trip--I must have a really boring diary--I think I'll have to find a way to spice it up. Maybe I'll eat while doing extreme sports. Hmmm

where ya going next?

Have ya tried your turkey sammich with mustard? Dijon or honey mustard is wonderful with turkey - perks it up a ton... or even wasabi mustard if you canfind it :D that'll add some spice to your diary :)

I'm going up to Indianapolis next and then I'm travelled out. Hey, I just had that turkey sandwich on some extreme sour dough bread--whole grain and 130 for a big slice. I got 18% of my carbs from it, but talk about a satisfying tukey sandwich. I snuck a peak at the scale today because the multi-vitamins have me going to the bathroom a lot and I wanted to see if it was having any effect on my weight--I am now under my ticker weight. Tomorrow, I will be updating my ticker and summer goal.

You are so right about the calories we don't eat. I think that sometimes when we are trying to cut right back on our eating, we can be really hard on ourselves for any little extras, but we have to remember how far we have come. Also, the average man should be eating 2500 calories a day to maintain, so under 2000 cals is still fab ;)

And look at you, losing all that water weight and then some :) I can't wait to see your ticker change tomorrow!!

Hey thanks for visiting Mrs. Bear. I must say I know the average man should have 2500 and I have lost weight at 2800 a few years back (and kept it off). However, one nice thing about going under is if I blow it--I had an extra serving of pudding today, I still know I can lose for the day. I am going to get back on the exercise bandwagon next week--kind of a long story why I couldn't do it this week, but I know that'll help a lot.

and cannon you were worried. To be at our weight its really alot of calories, so the fact that your thinking about what you eat and how much will help alot.

Well--Indianapolis is the ultimate geek fest known as Gen Con. Its great for people watching and I not only won't be the fattest person there--some of those heavier people will be in spandex, bustiers, or other revealing material. Its great people watching and it's really not about food for me so I can make some excellent choices there.

LOL, I'd like to hear a little more about this....

(BTW *YAY* for losing your water weight...goodluck with the weigh in tomorrow morning....go team )

Gen Con is a convention for all things nerdy--from roleplaying games, to science fiction, to anime, to fantasy. Think 40,000 of the most eccentric people on the planet descend on a small midwestern city like Indianapolis for 5 days.
