Cannon's Journal

A bit of a sad day for me. I am having a heavy day for some reason -- I'm up since yesterday when I didn't have that many calories and as a result I'm going to have to finally get around to moving my ticker in the wrong direction. On the bright side, it actually helps me lose more for the challenge, but I really wanted the ticker to be on the other side of 444.8. After today, I'm definitely back on the FSD. I have also figured a reasonable goal for me to have by Labor Day is 35 pounds so I'm making that change as well. Good luck to everybody in the challenge.

It seems like a lot of people are saying that their weight is up today (mine included)- I guess it's better to have your weight be up a little bit at the start of a challenge rather than at the end, right? Good luck! :)

That is the one up side of weighing frequently .... atleast you know that your weight did go back down again, and that this is just a fluctuation. If you hadn't have weighed, you would have thought that you had put it all back again. I am sure that it will go back down in the next day or so, and like you say, you should get a really good result in the challenge! Good luck ;)

Hey there cannon...sorry about the ticker moving the wrong way. My weight was up by six tenths of a pound today but I am NOT MOVING MY TICKER!! LOL!!!!

I'm so glad your team picked one of my throw out names from the last challenge!!!! How cool is that!!!! You guys are gonna do great.

Hope you have a great weekend!!!!

Hey cannon sorry about the ticker moving the wrong way. Try not to let it get you down. It doesn't go down every week like we like. Just try and forget about it the best you can and keep moving forward....

I've found that weighing myself every day just causes undue stress, and try to limit myself to once a week (though sometimes I peek midweek anyways). Don't sweat a tiny slip back, it could be any number of things that aren't your fault or don't affect you for that long. Pull up you boot straps and keep on going, you're still making good progress :)

I am going to do the same thing and switch to once a week. I have been compulsively weighing myself this week because of the weight from last week and then because of the vitamins. I will go back to just doing Fridays now

Cannon - you have to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable when it comes to weighing yourself. I'm glad you're making the switch if the daily weigh-in's were making you anxious.

Hey Cannon,
You are so right about looking at what you left behind at the restaraunt & theater! It is a great reminder that this is a life style change we're doing.

As for going away and coming back with a huge amount of pounds, well, I'm right there too...I just got back from camping and was up 9 pounds - since Monday!

As Scarlett pointed out for you, the math just doesn't support that kind of increase, I know if I had actually consumed over 10, THOUSAND calories in a day, I would not have been able to leave the ahem...facilities (what there were of them) ;) I did eat a lot of salty things.

Glad to hear you're back on track, you and I should just not go away any time soon, ok?

;)

LOL, I am going away in a week and a half--last time this year I swear. Welcome back M2M. To everybody who has visited recently, thanks it means a lot. I will be getting caught up in everybody else's diaries hopefully tomorrow. I've been a busy busy boy and having a power failure knock out all my alarm clocks so I slept until 9:00 today didn't help

Hey Canon I see from your entry on my own diary you bought a new GBS CD! Which one did you buy and are you enjoying it so far? I was listening to "Something Beautiful" today and have to admit at having a wee chuckle at the song "Beat the Drum", you probably know this but it's actually a cover of a Runrig song called "Pride of the summer". I had a wee laugh when theysay "we walk the black rock and we stopped by the loch", Alan says "lock" instead of "loch" hehehe some people seem to have real difficulty using some Scottish words!

Hope your phantom pounds drop off soon! It's annoying when you gain for no reason isn't it.:(

The GBS Cd I bought was I believe the only one I didn't own--the first one. Wow it's a lot folkier than their other stuff--kinda interesting. Something Beautiful is the opposite extreme I thought and not one I really cared for as much. I did like the hockey player song off that one, but the title escapes me.

Hey Cannon2006

Just read through your diary, keep up the good work. You sound like a musiclover like me... I don't know abput you but I use music and my favourite songs on the bad days, to get me out of the slump. Just a thought. Well, have a nice day (humming away)....

Wow, you are a holiday-aholic!!! But life is there to enjoy, right? ;) And atleast now you know that you can go away, and either maintain or go up slightly and get right back on track when you return. Keep up all your hard work ;)

Hey Cannon, hope your weekend is going well so far. Are you finding it easy to get back into the groove now that you've returned from vacation?

Mahatt--Thanks so much for stopping by. I love music for every mood. I even have a special "heartache" cd to be used only when some woman done me wrong :). I just need to stop going to Itunes so much :)

Scarlett--I'm having a really good weekend. I'm going over to my sister's for dinner, but since it's tilapia and they're watching their weight I'm not even worried about the calories. I give this forum credit. I've gone off my diet several times, but I started posting here like I ever "cheated". I've had no food guilt and I think that's much healthier in the long run.

Mrs. Bear - I think part of it is teaching. We only work 10 months (and only get paid for 10 months), but we don't have much ability to take a week off any other time of year so I've sort of had to condense all my trips to this two month period. I'm also terrified that they may switch us to this ridiculous multi-track year round thing where my next time off may be October of 2007 so I'm enjoying myself while I can.

Do they average your pay over the twelve months, or do they actually only pay you 10 months out of twelve!! I suppose if they do, they expect you to put money aside, but still it seems a bit odd!!

Yeah I thought that song was quite good too (think it was called Helmethead?). I also liked "When I am King" and "Let it go" but that was all from that album I think. My favourite oftheir albums so far has to be Road Rage I think and that's just the songs! The little pictures of the wee old granny on the tiny wee motor bike were very funny too! :D

I noticed you travel alot Cannon. Is it part of your profession or do you just get great benefits and long vacation days? If so... Where do you work and are they hiring? :D ;) :D

Mrs Bear - They don't give us our full salary for ten months and then spread it into equal payments every two week. They started doing that about 20 years ago. I think it's a good idea except it gets people saying--you only work for part of the year and get paid all year.

Crunchie - Road Rage is my absolute favorite, but Rant and Roar, Turn, and Sea of No Cares are all up there. The last one was kind of cool, but the best track was only available on ITunes. I liked that picture too. I remember in London I saw some "old" ladies on motorbykes. When their knees went they got a motorbike to replace their bicycle.

C - Its all in summer. I'm a teacher. The 2 months off are a great perk, but I don't think I should be around adolescents 12 months out of the year. I'm already too immature to spend all that time with 7th graders.
