Cannon's Journal

cannon its hard when your on a trip. Yea those are some really high carb foods. The thing is that you know it was the wrong kind of foods but a few were better choices than others. The sugar things were probably the worst choices. The thing is when your on a vacation some of the fun is eating things from other places. Kicking yourself in the butt is only going to make you feel worse so don't do it. You made bad choices and you will pay for them in a small increased weight. Now just do what you were doing before when you started to lose weight. If we didn't have a problem making bad choices none of us would be here. Its a long fight and you know that.......
Tomorrow is a brand new day.......

ooooohhhhh, rolos. I can't have those, I won't stop.

I really wouldn't be surprised if 2/3's of it is water weight, you did have french fries a few times and there's always tons of salt on those. Not to mention the sodium in the chili and gravy, more than you'd think.

Just remember that's all behind you and move forward. You can do it!! :D

I'll second that!! You had a lot of salt and sugar, and that can make you hold onto a hell of a lot of water. Eat a wholefood, healthy diet for a few days and I am sure that most of that extra weight will drop off. Keep us posted ;)

you had fun.. it's not like you eat like that on a regular basis anymore.. so what's done is done... it'll come back off pretty easily - just get yourself back motivated again... and the numbers will fall back off...

I am feeling a bit better. I am still down 15 pounds even after the trip and I can make the ticket honest again by Friday if I work at it. I was worried that I had lost 3 weeks of work with 5 days of fun. I think I really lost 5 days to a week of work and that's a fair tradeoff.

yea, we have all been there. you think in a few days you can kill a month of hard work. Sometimes you feel so bloated that you swear you gained 40 pounds and its more like 2 or 5. For vacations we like to go to a Little German town here in Texas. It's called Fredericksburg and they have some great German restaurants there. When I go I know I'm going to gain some weight. All we can do is look at our averages and as long as we lose more than we gain we are doing fine.

A bit of good news (hopefully not too graphic). In the first Austin Powers movie, there is a scene where he gets unfrozen for the first time since the 60s. He immediately has to pee and it lasts about 3 minutes of real time. I just had a pee like that. I think with the ammount of diet soda, beer, salt, and sugar I did have a ton of water weight. I didn't get to eat until just now and the scale basically said I lost 2.2 pounds between 8AM and Noon. I wanted to be in that 2-4 pounds gained range on the trip and I think I reality I am. This is important to me because while I didn't make all good choices, I don't think I went nuts or on any kind of binge. Weight gain is fine with me--the return of 3 weeks of weight loss in 5 days is not.

Hey Cannon, don't worry about being too graphic about bodily functions, you should see when Sday and I get talking about our IBS .... or maybe you shouldn't  :D

I know what you mean though. When I have had a bit of a splurge of salt and/or sugar then have a day or two of healthy diet I have exactly the same problem. I deliver mail for about 3 hours each morning and one day I was back home literally every half and hour needing to pee!!!! But it is sooooo good because you know that it is some of the water weight shifting ;) Happy peeing :D

cannon, don't worry one bit about it !!!! It's all water weight. And it will be gone by the end of the week. I know when you weighed when you came home you thought you put on 11 pounds. But to put it in perspective in order to gain that much back in fat you would have had to eat 38,500 calories extra in five days in addition to what your BMR is. Based on the fact that one pound equals 3500. Say your BMR is 3000, that would mean you would have had to eat something like 10,000 calories a day. And even with the extras and treats you had there is no way that happened.

It's all water baby....just keep drinking your water and it will go.

Thanks Scarlett--I know I gained something, but I think a good portion is most definitely water. Thanks for all the support everybody. I really need it. I am definitely doing much better today.

i agree with Scarlett. You *may* have gained a pound. Maybe two. but I think it's water weight. probably cause you had too much salt. I wouldn't worry about it. i am glad you're happier now though. it's a new week and a brand new start. :)

Time to put away the scale. I've been weighing myself very regularly because I've wanted to see if the weight would drop off now that I'm back to eating right. I weight in at 446.6 today which is only 1.8 pounds from my last ticker update. It looks like I hit a bump in the road and bumps are not fun. On the bright side, I thought I hit a brick wall. I can lose the pounds in 2-4 extra days of eating right and all in all my trip was definitely work this.

Less that two pounds in the end .... fantastic!! :) When I weighed this morning after a splurge yesterday I was 7lbs up from yesterdays weight  When I came home before going on delivery that was down to 5lbs more, after work it was only 3lbs more, and I am hoping in the next couple of days that I will be back down to 12st 2lbs ..... here's hoping ;)

Okay, so your vacay cost you 1.8 pounds. But you're home now, you're back in your routine and back on track. And we want to see that ticker move just as much as you do!!!!

We've got the challenge starting on Friday which I see your joining...yay!!! If you get a good couple days under your belt I bet you can start the challenge at your current ticker mark. You can do it!!!!!

Are you drinking tons of what and peeing 30 times a day? That really helps. I just realized that's a little weird for me to ask about your peeing schedule huh?

Hope you have a great evening, sweetie pie!!!! :D :D

Hey Scarlett, I'm going to join the challenge though I'll be out of town for the last three days. I'm drinking plenty of water--I have 4 more 5 gallon jugs coming Tuesday and I've only made it through 2 1/4 so I have some serious drinking to do.
