Cannon's Journal

Cannon, it seems like you're making excellent progress these days! And that's great you're getting used to your exercise routine. Congratulations!

Thanks for stopping by everybody. I'm going to return the favor this afternoon. I'm working out with the trainer 2 days a week, though today should be one of those days and she's out of town. I am going to see if I can up the gym to 4 days a week and walk on 2 other days. Last week I only did 3 days at the gym, but that is because I was in no condition to work out after that first Thursday workout until Sunday.l

Looks like a good workout. The incline really seems much harder on you than the speed setting. The holding on can help you cheat a bit. Without holding on, If you get too far behind it will shoot you back 15 ft. without holding on it's either keep up or tuck and roll lol...... sounds like a good workout keep it up........

I never cheated with the hand rails, but I always felt safer. I think the act of balancing myself does make it a better work out and I do move my arms as well.

This is why my treadmill end is facing a wall - I havent fallen off yet but i knwo the day will come soon and then I will just kinda bounce off the wall...

i think its great you're working out the way you do :) the results will come fast :) just hang in there

a big hug to you
Lena

Yes they sure will and I cant wait to see them Cannon:)

I'm loving that enthusiasm! You're gonna start melting away on us. Just promise you'll be good to yourself and won't overdo it. :) Very much looking forward to hearing about some more serious weight loss. :D

Well today was a good workout and a difficult workout. I wore a gray shirt and I have a sweat stain down to my belly button. My heart rate got up to 161 which it never does. Its kind of weird because its the same routine that I've done three times now with 3 different results. The first time was ache, the second time was easy, this time was sweat. I saw the trainer that I didn't like and some of what she did with her client looked good, but I saw her using an awful lot of isolating machines. I want to sick Steve, Tom, and Trusylver on her now :).

Thanks for your concern Sunny :). I won't overdo it for 2 reasons:

1. At my exercise peak I was walking 6 days a week so I don't think working out 4 and walking 2 would be too much different.

2. If I set myself up to work out 5 days a week I'll wind up working out 4 an awful lot of the time when something comes up, so I set a goal of 6 and if I don't meet it, I still get 5.

This working out at the gym has officially inspired me. My attitude has changed. I have a feeling that I am going to progress and trying to decide what to do as I get lighter and lighter (I'd love to do martial arts again for one thing). I really do believe this is going to be a key ingredient in me getting what I want.

Thanks for the poem! I've been giggling over the possibilities of having a "quirky" mother-in-law some day.

I'm glad the gym experience is really inspiring you. I've been inspired as well and I'm trying to make it to the gym at least 3 times a week. Steve slipped in a golden nugget of wisdom in one of his posts when he said something along the lines of him 'seeing so many people get really excited about exercising and they burn out quick, as if all the damage of the last 15 years of inactivity can be fixed in a week.'

Sorry Steve, I know I butchered your quote.

Anyhow, just take it slow and consistent (thats what I'm trying to do) and you won't burn out!

I'm excited for you, 'cause I know being pumped about weight-loss is a wonderful feeling.

- Sunny

We need a shaking fist smiley, a Devil smiley, and panting smiley.

We also need a kissy icon - hee hee hee

So they're coming back to work tomorrow. I haven't cleaned up from last time they were here. Oh boy. Not going to worry about it now.

Oh well there is obviously no reason too if they keep comin back:D:rotflmao: :D
