Byebye Big Bum!

You're certainly well back on form Jay. I hope to be too in a couple of weeks. Off to gym with my hubby and nephew tomorrow but don't hold out much hope for how far I'll manage to run. The fact that our nephew is there might spur me on to push myself as I'll want to show off :)

Yeah, it felt GREAT! I am still pretty darn slow, but hey, there are some killer hills where i live.

I have to say Eycky, I was dreading it after such a long break, but its not taken that much to get into it again to be honest. I am slower than before but I can still do it. I wonder if (once you get beyond the "can't run for a couple of minutes without dying" stage) the thing stopping people from running for any distance is the belief that they can't do it? I very nearly just carried on running for another 20/30 mins yesterday when I rounded the final corner into town - I didn't feel that I had to stop but it was getting dark and I had to pick my daughter up. Although I did think I'd gone further than 5 miles so was a bit disappointed when I mapped my route at home.

Definitely feeling the pain more this morning though!! So I did push myself.

Ok, quick update on today.

Walked 4 km, most of which I was pushing an extremely heavy supermarket trolley for!! Feel those core muscles work!!! hehe. Mega stock up!

Then I have done hours and hours of chores...carrying laundry, sweeping, cleaning, cooking, hefting things around the house. I literally have not stopped all day!! But no idea how many calories!

Food unfortunately has not been great:
Breakfast: ww meal - 320 cals
strawberries - 78 cals
chocolate - 260 cals
Lunch - low cal enchilladas meal - 330 cals
sweets - 50 cals
homemade, all measured out chicken breast stirfry - 310 cals
toasted tea cake - 180 cals
chocolate - 80 cals
tea - 40 cals
glass of pomegranate juice - 125 cals

Total - 1773

Still under my maintenance cals per day (going to go and recalculate these now I think as they have probably gone down) but personally, I feel like I am letting myself down with the stupid snacking on chocolate. Might have to go cold turkey for a while again.

Gone slightly spotty on the face due to the bloody hormones again at this time of the month, but HECK, so much better than a few months ago before I started my magical skincare regime - the difference is such a relief! Never ever going back there again!

Going to be so hard at work in the next week...sigh...just got to knuckle down and do it! Get things out the door!! Hopefully will get the chance to do at least one 5km run in lunch break and I want to pick my road bike up from my friend who borrowed it months ago...can't wait to have it back!

Jay, I saw in piggy's diary that you're interested in being a vegetarian for a fortnight? I think it's an awesome idea and would be very keen to do it with you, so to speak, if you were serious about trying it.

Hope you're well :)

Hey Sunflower - yes I am thinking about it! I just think it would shake up all the regular old foods I rely on, force me to be a bit more inventive with veg etc... Let me think on it for a few more days...Its only a fortnight I know but if I'm going to do it, I'd want to commit to it completely!

Food today:
toasted bagel - 210 cals
glass of pomegranite juice - 125 cals
tea - 30 cals
pack of squares - 97 cals
aero - 223 cals
strawberries - 60 cals
grapes - 50 cals
tuna, pea and potato salad - 257 cals
skinny latte - 75 cals
pack of beef jerky - 75 cals
enchiladas low cal meal - 380 cals ( i got this wrong yesterday!)
toasted tea cake - 180 cals

Total - 1762 (pah)

Bit of a stressful day today so reached for the chocolate...sigh...

Walked a bit though to meet a friend at lunch time...no idea how far - probably 20 mins all in all. Should be running 5k tomorrow at lunch time as long as it isn't raining (if it is, I'll try and get to the gym instead) and planning to pick my bike up on Weds hopefully...

Sorry I never got back. I thank you for the Cliff notes. He sounds like there is definitely something there, but he's not entirely sure how to proceed and not be feeling like, or being looked upon as someone who could be taking advantage of a situation. Still... interest appears to be high...

Being married for 23 years kind skews my perspective some though. I haven't exactly been in the dating scene much lately, yanno?:leaving:

I'm just trying to catch up on a few journals, but I wanted to pop in and say that you are doing great! Keep it up!

Hey guys...time for my daily report!

Thanks for the posts - Cabbie, I think you are right. There's a whole complex thing about position and not abusing it...for both of us...guess that's part of the frisson and fun!

Nice to see you Mizzie - was wondering where on earth you'd got to!! Stick around!!

Food today:
Toasted bagel with low cal pate spread - 220 + 70 cals
Tea - 40 cals
Packet of pom bears potato snacks - 97 cals
Low cal chicken sandwich no mayo - 310 cals
Low cal crisps - 92 cals
Isotonic low cal drink - 50 cals
Roast turkey & veg - 800 cals
2 tea spoons of my daughters icecream - 40 cals
Small bit of chocolate as a treat - 130 cals

Total - 1849

However...I went canal-side running with my work friend again today (despite it being VERY muddy and rainy) and we ran 6km in 52 mins! Far faster than I usually run on my own. Approx 377 cals burnt. Felt great afterwards - tired but really envigorated!

All going fine until my parents decided we should go out to dinner!! It was a carvery so although not too unhealthy stuff...like veg and roast turkey, portion control is a big issue..and the roast potatos were sooo tempting. Turkey and veg itself no big deal calorie-wise - probably 400 cals all in all, but add the roast potatos and a small yorkshire pudding...sigh...

However, 1849 - 377 = 1472 so overall, miles below my newly calculated maintenance of 2150 cals and 1700 or so for weight loss.

Am a bit narked because I have gone spotty due to ToM, but nothing that shouldn't clear up in a day or two...pah...

Hey jjjay, I've seen you around so I thought I would come check out your journal - you seemed like a lovely up beat person and I like that :D

I only read a couple of pages back though because it's supposed to be my bed time soon (I'm such an old lady!).

I love the Mr X saga - or what I've read of it. I guess it might get frustrating for you to not really know where it stands (? I'm just presuming here, correct me if I'm wrong!) but I think it must also be so fun and exciting to have that whole chemistry/what's going to happen next thing going with someone. I'm very happy with my bf of 18 months but I already miss that stuff, haha - hopeless romantic/flirt I guess.

Also - I so sympathise with you on the whole being spotty around ToM. It's the bane of my life!

Anyhoo - have a great day tomorrow - muchos love x

Hey there Holly88!! Nice to see you pop in! And thank you for your lovely post. I see you are another UK northerner!! Sorry if my diary kept you up too late! Must get your beauty sleep LOL! I too am a bit of an old lady like that - went to bed at 9.30 last night...but then again, I am up at 6am!

I'm glad the Mr X saga is amusing reading as opposed to getting boring!! Part of the chase is the not knowing of course...but its all good motivation to lose weight - which I guess wouldn't be the case if I could just see him whenever I wanted to...I am definitely a lost cause - I love a good "flirtship"!!

On that note, unprompted email from him yesterday but I'm not going to reply for a day or two...two can play at that game!

Tig - a "carvery" is a restaurant where you go up with your plate and have a choice of carved meats (in this place - roast beef, roast turkey and roast ham) and the chef carves you some slices (this bit is usually one "visit" only), then you can help yourself to vegetables, roast potatos and yorkshire puddings...as many visits as you like. Good old fashioned British roast dinner!! Problem is, usually the plates end up piled high! So I tried to fill mine with peas and carrots and cauliflower rather than too many potatoes etc...

Have a good day everyone!!

I actually figured that was what a carvery was, but it isn't a common term here in the states.

I'm enjoying the mr X saga too, I can live vicariously through your adventures...

ok, today was an alright day! Lots of stress at work, very busy but that meant NO time for snacking...not even the usual vending machine chocolate raid!

Food today:
Toasted bagel with low cal pate spread - 220 + 70 cals
Glass of pomegranite juice - 125 cals
Tea - 30 cals
Packet of pom bears potato snacks - 97 cals
Tuna melt ciabatta - 420 cals
Skinny latte - 75 cals
Small apple - 60 cals
Low cal beef enchillada meal - 380 cals
Taste of spaghetti bolognaise as I was cooking it - 50 cals

Total - 1527

LOL. The world becomes a madder place. Mr X has gone from SUPER-formal emails "Dear X,work stuff, Regards Mr X" to..."Er...blah blah work stuff. X", I cannot keep up with this man! Spoke to him today for about half an hour and he said he'd ring me next week. Put a smile on my face! Should be meeting up soon....ooooh!

Plus, down to 183 (at teh end of the day when I am usually a few lbs heavier due to dinner etc... AND at the ToM when I usually go up by 3-4lbs)...so I have high hopes for a bit of weight loss coming up. I would LOVE to break the 180 barrier. Considering that I was 187lbs last time I met X, to be half a stone lighter would be a noticeable difference I think.

I've been drinking a glass of pomegranite juice nearly every day as there's been some research recently that says this helps particuarly with abdominal fat cells...worth a try...for a while! My latest work suit trousers are startnig to get baggy around the waist...this is always the first to go, then the thighs go clown like too...so I think I am starting to move from a UK 16 to a 14 (WOOOOHOOOOO!)

Will try and catch up with journals tomorrow - off to bed now YAWN!

39 pages - awesome! I don't have much time to read through the whole thing right now but want to say that you are an inspiration for me in that you have managed to keep your journal for so long and you have done a fantastic job on your weight loss. Congrats on your success so far!

hehe morning guys!

*jay does the 182.6lbs dance this morning, shakin' her ass, shakin' her ass*

I think you are right....I ALWAYS go up by at least 3lbs and I am pretty darn clockwork...so we'll see....w00h000. Those lunchtime 5-6k runs make a huge difference though - its like 400 cals burnt so even though I've not been fantastically strict on my cals, I'm below my maintenance calories on the eating front and back to running 3-4 times a week.

Thanks for stopping by MysticBlue - I still think of myself as a bit of a newbie here and only just at the start of my journey!! LOL!! I have to stop and pinch myself and go "uhuh! Look! 39 pages. 55lbs. its happening!"

Got yet another stressful day at work - I'm negotiating a deal at the moment that if I dont pull off, up to a thousand people could be out of their jobs by christmas :( Just me. Talk about responsibility! Eek! :leaving:

So have a gooooooooooooood day everyone!!
