So whenever you are able to....send away. If you get one to me in the next couple of hours...I will...I repeat...I will start tonite! lol

Thanks you! Keep rawkin!

Morning guys! Have pm'd you Flume!! Now get busy!!

Ooooh I had a great nights sleep last night! 9.30pm - 5am so 7.5hours!! Fantastic!

1/2 chicken breast for breakfast again with 110 cals of brown bread - so probably 250 cals

190lbs still this morning. I'm actually quite pleased given I've only gone up by a lb or so rather than the normal 3lbs so logically, this means my base weight must have gone down to 187 or 188.

I'm oscilating between feelign crappy and bloated and spotty and feeling good because I'm losing weight and looking better overall!! Like yesterday, trying on dresses - I usually would have been SO chuffed to be trying on size 16UK and even 14UK which wouldn't have even gone over my hips before but I didn't put any of them on and feel great - which I'm sure is a product of feeling bloated etc...right now. I'm goign to go back in a weeks time and see how different I feel!!! Certainly NOT arranging lunch for this exact time next month (will pick my dates carefull!!) given I'm such a "feeling great!" or "feeling rubbish!" sort of girl!!

I'm going to try and go for another long run when I get back from work today - maybe not quite 5km - I might just run to the 2nd bridge on my running trail and back which I think is around 3.5 - 4km. I've only had one rest day since doing that big run and I think my legs will protest!! Its so hot here too that I'm going to have to run with a water bottle in my hand - which I dont like to do. I want to go and play tennis really as the best members session is on Thurs but membership renewal at my club was due at the end of may and I haven't got the spare cash until either the end of this month or end of July (when hopefully I'll get a payrise and bonus! fingers crossed!).

I booked my sailing course yesterday - a refresher weekend not this weekend but the next which I'm really looking forward to. Last time I went kayaking down at our local lake, I was a "M" in spray jacket and a M/L in bouyancy jacket (rather than L or XL in both!) so I felt confident that finding a wetsuit that fitted at the sailing centre was going to be doable and not embarissing. It sounds like such a little thing, but funny what stops you for doing stuff!

your progression is great! you can and are doing it! man i so wish i could run like you. i try and run and it feels like i got cement boots on

aww thanks size32someday - I'm really feelign motivated now that the weight is shifting and I can actually do some exercise without feeling like a wobbly jellyfish!! I was definitely a cement boot runner - only a few months ago but it changes so quickly if you persevere!

Food today - alright but some unhealthy stuff in there...

The remainder of yesterdays chicken breast grilled no oil with two 55 cal brown bread slices for breakfast - 250 cals
1 skinny latte - 135 cals
1 pear - 50 cals
1 mini brownie square - 50 cals
1/2 white chocolate cookie - usually around 300 cals per cookie so saying 150 cals
Lettice, tomatoes, cucumber, 1 boiled egg and a slice of ham - 140 cals (the packet says 167 cals including the large sachet of salad cream which I just throw away!!)
Potato snacks - 97 cals
1 pear - 50 cals
Low fat/low cal beef and mashed potato meal - 310 cals
1 slice of seseme snap - 54 cals
4 cups of tea - 40 cals
1 55 cal slice of bread and 125 cals of cheese on top - 180 cals

Total = 1456

Much much less hungry since I upped my protein intake (DrFlumes, you are a genius nutritionist!). I calculate that my run burns around 400-500 cals so looking good!

Just got back from another 5k run - I made it to the lake and back even though it was an hour or so earlier and very very hot!! The countryside was absolutely stunning in the sunlight though and I feel so relaxed having had a lovely 45mins to look around and think to myself - really helps me churn through all the events of the day. I didn't take a hand-held water bottle in the end - a really toss up between the annoyance of carrying one v the desperate need for water! It took me 47 mins again there and back but I sprinted the last 2 mins up the hill to my house. I bought a snazy new pair of half leggings today and some running vests as its just too hot otherwise - much nice to run in and I was pleased that the size 16 was fine and the 14 just a little tight...nice to see some progression there!! I haven't found a size 16 that hasn't fitted recently!!

Stood on the scales when I got back before my shower and was suprised to see 189.6lbs - even after dinner and chugging back 1/2 pint of water....even given the normal weight gain this week...YAY!! Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow morning to see where all this hard work is getting me - must be at least down to 188!!:hurray:

Dr. Flumes! lolol. You kill me. Im glad that the extra protein is holdin ya over. (Termites everywhere rejoice for lack of competition!)

And your lake jog sounds wonderful. Have a fantastic nite and I hope to see a 187 let alone 188 soon from ya!

Keep up the great work!!

Da doctor is out! ;)

Hey jjjay :) I've been talking to you in my journal but just now realized you had one of your own. I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes, lol. Awesome that you live near a lake...I used to live near the Sacramento River in cali and loved the walking trail. Nothing much great to see around here and any small bodies of water, like at the park near me is also surrounded by pooping ducks. In fact every dang park around here has pooping ducks....and/or geese...just hanging out on the walking trails. Of course I guess with the geese I'd get extra exercise dodging the aggressive ones, lol. Wow am I rambling today. But anyway, have you considered getting a small canteen with a shoulder or neck strap? I used to have one of those little purse back packs and I'd toss my bottle of water and whatever else in it. Anyway I just wanted to stop by and say hi :)

Thanks for the messages guys :D

I am very lucky - I live in SUCH a stunningly beautiful place. I keep meaning to take some photographs - I was just awestruck during my run yesterday at HOW beautiful the Peak District looked! I actually live in between 2 reservoirs but this one is the easiest to run to as there is a disused Victorian railway track that runs straight to it.

It is literally this kind of luminous green at the moment as we had nothing but rain up until may...and now the sun is out the fields have exploded in growth!

So I sit here...munching my 2 slices of brown toast and 85g of griddled chicken breast and drinking my cup of yorkshire waiting for the day to start!!

Hope you all have a great day and see you later!!

ah gorgeous photos....and no duck poop! Funny you're just starting your day though and its long past when I should be in bed. Gnite :)

Those photos are beautiful. They make me feel nostalgic. My kids laugh at me when we go to England because I spend the whole time commenting on how beautiful the trees are. I have beautiful views of the mediterranean sea from my house which I love but still miss the green of England.

Lovely photos. I have missed reading your updates, but I'm back after my couple of weeks of travelling and time away with the hunnie. Gonna catch up on your journal. Have a really good weekend Jjjay.

Urgh. Kind of a bad food day yesterday. Dress down day at work, plus some promotions announced and someone leaving - so LOTS of cakes and nice things to eat. I was not good. I was hungry and I ate. I'm gonna write it all down here so at least I know what the damage was. It was also a big England match in the world cup so drinks and dinner whilst watching that (I avoided any beer or wine though so saved cals there).

Food:

Breakfast:
85g chicken breast grilled no oil with two 55 cal brown bread slices for breakfast - 250 cals

Naughty things at work:
sausage roll at work (someone brough them in and I LOVE them) - 220 cals
2 x mini millionaires shortcake squares - 100 cals
1 slice of cake - 300 cals

Lunch:
1 chicken and bacon salad (label said 170 cals but I threw the blue cheese dressing sachet out! so I guess...140 cals?) - 140 cals
1 side pack of raw carrots - 28 cals
potato snacks - 97 cals

Dinner:
chicken shish kebab (plain pitta, no sauce, sliced tomatoes and grilled meat) - 400 cals
1 shot of archers and diet soda - 50 cals
1 small serving of ice cream - 93 cals

Other stuff:
5 cups of tea - 50 cals
85g of grilled chicken breast left over from this morning - 97 cals

Total: 1825 cals....
ok so not DREADFUL. But boy did I feel guilty about it all. Just skipped cals on the good stuff and gobbled cals of bad stuff.

No exercise yesterday apart from running up and down the stairs rather than use the lifts at work (one of my "change little things to change the bit things" ideas). Going to try and go for a run today but I am feeling very sluggish and bloated.

Instruction to any male readers - you may just want to skip this bit as its a moan about womens things....:
Got to try and think of ways to be NOT SO GOVERNED BY HORMONES this past week - it happens every darn month, surely there's a suppliment or somethign I can take? I just feel so...unbalanced and up in the air. Its not even the actual 3 days when I have my period - once that comes I feel on the up again and fine...it doesn't last that long and isn't painful.... but the run up to it - I feel ABSOLUTELY CRAPPY for the whole 7 days or so. Does anyone have any ideas about how to tackle this? I just feel at the mercy of my hormones!
Anyhows, rant over.

On a positive note, I just got an invite out for the end of July for a night of drinking and dancing with a bunch of ex-work colleagues - we go out every six months or so. I haven't seen them all for so long, including one guy that I'm always a bit flirty with (harmlessly so, but its fun), and I've lost quite a lot of weight since our xmas outing so I'm really looking forward to it!! I'm gonna STRUT MA STUFF in the night club and SHAKE MA ASS to the beat! heehee - so yet another motivational aim for July!!! I want to be below 185bs by the time it comes around - ideally 182 as that will be exact 13 stone!!!! And I cannot remember the last time I was 13 stone.

That made me drool just reading it. Thank god I don't live in England now. My absolute downfall are sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs, egg and cress rolls etc etc but we don't get them in the shops here.
My sister in law made millionaires shortbread for me last time I was in England and it was to die for. I'd never heard of it before but have always been a shortbread fan. It was like eating a big home made Twix.
Your day didn't end up too bad in the end. Definitely not enough to put on any weight and in my opinion well worth the extra calories.:)

heheh puff pastry (sweet and savory) has always been my favourite thing - I could just bake a tray of it and eat it with nothign else added!! You are right though, looking back objectively, although I was disappointed that I didn't resist the temptation, actually the overall calories were bad at all - still below my maintenance count for the day.

I think its that I desperately want to ramp up from losing 4-5lbs a month to 7-8lbs - 2lbs a week would be ideal and I'm not sure how to properly get to this point. I'm doing a fair amount of exercise per week - running around 4-5km every other day (so 3 to 4 times a week) plus some sit ups/static exercises at home (I could ramp this up and also go back to using hand weights and my exercise bike). I'm eating 1200-1400 calories per day and have recently upped my protein within this. I guess I should give it another couple of weeks to see the full effect of this (I think I upped the pace around a couple of weeks ago).

Ok, 190lbs on the scales this morning which I'm pleased with.

Food so far today:

brekkie - 1x 55cal brown bread, 80 cals of baked beans, 30 cals of low fat cheese - 165 cals
2 cups of tea - 20 cals
Lunch - chicken and bacon salad, no dressing - 250 cals
A few of my daughter's chips - 100 cals at a guess
5 sticks of of red liquorice - 100 cals
A taster sample of walnut cupcake in the marketplace - 50 cals
1 mini chocolate bar halfway through my run - 110 cals
Dinner - dry roasted jacket potato, venison grill steak and a small hunk of bread - 550 cals
Handful of cherries - 50 cals

Total - 1395 cals

:willy_nilly: MOG! ! W00T!! :willy_nilly:

I just got back from a run.....and did 7km!!! (4.375 miles) in 1hour and 5 mins. Jeepers that's nearly 5 miles. I wouldn't have thought that possible a few months ago...heck, a few weeks ago!! I ran all the way to the lake boating house, stopped for 3 mins and bought a bottle of water and then ran back home without stopping. Again, the last hill for the last 4 mins nearly killed me!! BUT I DID IT!!

:hurray:

Yikes. That's a really long way. I think if I entered a 10k race I could probably run it (as long as it was flat!! hahaha)...I'd be darn slow...but I'd do it!

So I am wallowing in my super runny achievement today! Plus my tracksuit bottoms are a bit big now and I kept on having to hoik em up! (is that even a word?!?! I'm sure it is but have no idea how to spell it).

Ourdoor running seriously is the best - especially if you run TO SOMEWHERE and THEN BACK...cos you can't give up or opt out or jump off the treadmill...or cut out the last circuit. You just got to pound the ground and keep going. :D

Yours, chuffed and unable to do anything but crawl, JJJay

Well look at that, you may have eaten things you don't normally eat yesterday, but then today you hauled butt with the exercise :) We're all going to have days we go over our calories once in a while, I really think we should all accept that and allow it without beating ourselves up, as long as one day doesn't turn into the norm. And you weren't even that far over. Plus you know I don't believe in bad food days :) So I think you should get a pat on the back, especially right now cuz if you're like me with the hormone issue, you prolly get cravings too.

Speaking of, if you find a solution at all let me know, lol. I guarantee that happy time is upon me soon because I've been pissed off at the world or 3 days, lmao. And all the stuff my hubby does that I normally hold my tongue over...well yea not so last two days, lol. Poor DH.

Anyway before I ramble any further, gratz again on your achievement today :) Sounds like you're going to have to get some new tracksuit bottoms soon or suffer baggy butt syndrome, lol. Welp, I'm off to finish tackling my exercise today....the jungle that is known as my lawn. Cya!

I am less impressed with myself this morning...I feel like an old woman!!! Everything hurts! No lasting injuries though, just general aching.

Food today so far:

1 plain toasted bagel with 10g of peanut butter = 280 cals
Peanuts and raisins - 50 cals worth
Low cal/low fat beef and potato meal - 318 cals
3 cups of tea - 30 cals

Total so far: 678 cals
I'll try and remember all I had...too much that's for sure!
BBQ - 1 4oz steak - 168 cals
1/2 sweetcorn
1 chicken breast squewer - 100 cals
1 small chicken thigh - 120 cals
1 small sausage - 88 cals
Bread and hummus - 150 cals
salad no dressing - 20 cals
Glass of wine - 180 cals
Crisps, olives and nibbles - 300 cals
1 ice cream cone with small amount of ice cream - 98 cals
Chocolates - 150

Total - 1884

Having my parents over for a BBQ this afternoon so going to have to try and be good!! Mostly really healthy stuff -salads, chicken and steak to grill (rather than burgers or anything) and fruit for pudding but as with everything...quantity is always difficult!! That's why I'm trying to save 800 cals for it by not snacking during today. Avoiding the wine will be the tough bit!

I'm going to list out today's measurements too as I want to keep a closer eye on what I measure and where I'm losing...

Starting measurements (at 238, then at 195, now):
Hips 51"...45....now-44 so 7" lost!
Waist 44"...35.5"....now-34.5 so 9.5" lost!
Bust 47"...41.5"....now-40.5 so 6.5" lost!
Thighs 31"...27"....now-26.5 so 4.5" lost!
Upper arms 17"...14"....now-13.8 so 3.2" lost

WOW!!! 5 miles!!!!! YOU ROCK! That is a LONG ways to run!

Isn't it great to see how far we've come in inches? I think that even when the scale doesn't move at all, the inches have always slowly been creeping down. It's kept me motivated anyways! While I step on that dang scale about half a dozen times a day (yes, I know, I'm obsessed) I only take my measurements every other week.

Keep up the great work!

Hiya guys!

Here's my daily update! No run tonight as I came home with a horrible headache, went to bed at 8pm and am now awake, feeling fine, like I've had a full nights sleep at 12am!! Can I go out for my run now?!?! hehehe.

Food for today:
1/2 bagel and 4oz BBQd steak from the day before - 278 cals
2 x jacobs crackers - 70 cals
200g cherries - 126 cals
200g strawberries - 54 cals
Chicken Pho soup for lunch - 400 cals
salad, no dressing, 150g of plain prawns and a cmall BBQ'd potato left over from yesterday - 302 cals
2 x tea (might be the source of my headache - lack of tea!) - 20 cals

Total - 1250 cals

I went to bed a bit hungry but nothing too bad. Again, i could go and eat something now but I don't HAVE to.

Big day tomorrow - its the UK emergency budget which really affects my job going forward - as in how we react to the changes that they bring in. So real buzz at work as to what will happen and which departments will be busy afterwards!

What else? Got to really step up this weight loss business - am up to 192-4lbs on the scales today - either temporary from the BBQ or water retention but either way I want to zoom back down to the 180s. Plus July is getting ever nearer - and got a work formal black tie do, lunch with Mr X and a night out dancing so no room for NOT losing weight!! I'd really really like to be down to 185lbs by the start of July. Not unrealistic from 189 but I've got to stop drifting up back towards the early 190s then!!

I am certain you will be 180 by July 1st!

This lil jump in weight doesnt mean much....I was 4 lbs up this morning too...and I know I didnt eat that bad! lol I wanna see 201 this Friday. July 1st better be 199.9 or less! lolol

So if I'm gonna make my goal...theres no reason for you not to! lol Besides...thats 10 days away right? Anything can happen. Just do your best.
Your on the right track and I'm right behind ya (well...not really right behind...maybe 4-5 kms behind but you know what I mean!) lol

Good luck on the budget results!

Have a good sleep!
