hey guys, thanks for the posts. I know you are all right and jeez I didn't exactly go overboard with two chocolate biscuits but it made the rest of my day REALLy difficult to get through without going to the vending machine or stuffing my face and I haven't felt that compulsive about eating for quite a while - that was the interesting thing. I'm not sure whether its hormones at this time of the month (I'm 2lb heavier this morning again as expected...) or the sugar rush from the chocolate but I struggled to keep eating under control for the whole day afterwards...and only just avoided a major binge!
Tigpuppy, thanks for your post hon, I really admire YOU for reading through my diary!! What an achievement...its so long now!!! hehehehe. Seriously, thanks its a real boost to know that I've actually come so far - you tend to forget when you are in the middle of it all!
I've never been a runny person - I've been sporty my whole life but useless at the running bit - lacrosse goalie...cycling...sailing...rowing...judo...tennis...things that don't directly involve running you note!!
Ok. Here's what I did / do... very well fitted underwired bra - real industrial support but that STILL wasn't enough so I put on a normal sports bra top (lycra tank top sort of style with an inner section) in a size too small which seems to provide the "anti-bounce" effect. Its a bit weird - you feel really strapped up, but its stops any black eyes
Running outside is the best - honestly! I started off on a treadmill at the gym and really really tried hard to think of a way that I could fit a treadmill into my house, but in the end bit the bullet and started running outside and now I prefer it!! Get yourself a digital watch with a stopclock/timer - I followed the first three weeks of the Couch to 5k program (and repeated several of the weeks several times then went off on my own pattern) - it looks something like:
Week 1 - Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
3 x a week (I actually couldn't wait and did it 4 or 5 times a week)
At the start, 60 secs of jogging kills you - you are so out of breath but after a week or two you get used to it and can do 90 secs etc... I just built up this way until I was running 5 mins...8 mins...at a stretch - I couldn't BELIEVE IT. Then it was 11 mins...12 mins...and then one day 20 mins... It's completely doable outside as well because its all by timing rather than distance. Once you are getting there, you can check how far you are running but I wouldn't get hung up on it - some days I jogged little more than walking pace...but I told myself that I was still jogging...
I went for a 45 min run the other day - OMG. That is mad. I never would have though it. So now, I run for 20 mins in gym at a faster pace, or do a longer run outside at a slower pace. It really gets me sweating and I'm not caught up on how many calories is burns because a) I'm eating 1200-1400 a day anyhow and b) some calories is better than none!! plus I can feel the changes in my buttocks, my calves and interestingly my arms and stomach (core muscles I guess from keeping upright).
191lbs this morning

But then again, this happens at this time every month so not sure why I always get suprised or hope that it doesn't. At least now its getting to be a lower number each month!! I'll stick at the healthy eating and exercise and I should whooosh down by 3-4lbs in a weeks time to 188 or so. I just want to hit my 50lbs mark!!!
Hope you all have a great day and see you later!
