Byebye Big Bum Phase 2!

Nice car J!

We can't get them here in Canada. It looks like yours is four wheel drive?

Now I just got to learn how to pronouce it lol

Have a great day and congrats on the loss!

Urgh what a horrible start to the day! Left here at 6.30am to drive in early for a personal training session...one of the country roads was closed due to an accident so there was a big detour and by the time i got to the city, I got stuck in traffic until 8.15. Needless to say I missed my 7.30 - 8.30 training slot (but still had to pay for it..fair enough). Was massively frustrated and given how the last couple of days have been, I was really looking forward to pounding the heck out of my trainer with a pair of boxing gloves!!

However, I soon cheered up when I got an email full of the nicest grovelling apology from Mr X for being gruff the day before. Looks like I was on his mind afterwards :)

Food today (GOOD!):

porridge for breakfast - 220 cals

tea - 30 cals

pomegranite - 150 cals

apple - 60 cals

boots shaper greek salad wrap - 247 cals

boots shaper prawn cocktail crisps - 76 cals

3 slices of lean beef - 159 cals

Weightwaters chicken and mushroom pie - 334 cals I think from memory

2 chewy sweets at work - 40 cals???

Total = 1316

Looking forward to hopping on the scales tomorrow.

Hey Flumes - thanks, really pleased with the car - its black with chrome rails and stuff. Not 4 wheel drive - I went for the 2 wheel drive version as the petrol economy is much better due to the weight difference and its about £100 per month cheaper on my company car scheme. Our weather isn't quite as extreme as yours!! Its pronounced CashKai.

AHeya sweetie.

Yeah, crappy start to the day, i always struggle to get my mood back on track when i have crappy morning, My grumpy 12 yr old boy usually starts mine for me but to be honest, since i have been on my 'new me' lifestyle i cope with him and stuff way way better. Hope you didn't stay stressed for too long. And well done for not eating badly to make yourself feel better.
Great news that X was thinking about you after all. :)
Well done on the loss, you are going great guns, reaching your little targets!! You rock!!!

You are gonna look so hot when you see X and you will blow him away :)

oooh oooh ooh I'm so excited (as opposed to morphing into a human-monkey thing)! Its finally happening - the weight is STARTING TO SHIFT! I have a delayed body-reaction time of 2-3 weeks so spend the first 2-3 weeks of a diet/exercise plan without much motivation because I am still seeing the weight effects of whatever I did beforehand!! Can be very offputting to be eating well and exercising and putting on weight to start with! However, the worm has turned!

My scales showed 190 and 188 this morning - so I'm going for 189 in the middle! Woot!! Out of the 190s, despite being nearly the time of the month where I put on 2-3lbs due to water retention and separate to whatever I'm doing in terms of loosing or putting on weight normally. This usually then wooshes off in a week or so's time.

So I'm sitting here, fed up to the back teeth of YET ANOTHER bowl of porridge but slowly chomping through it with the thought that it does actually stop me eating for most of the morning so worth it!

So here's the goals:

5 Oct - 195lbs (starting point)

12 Oct - 193lbs (ACHIEVED!)

19 Oct - 191lbs (ACHIEVED!)

26 Oct - 189lbs (ACHIEVED EARLY ON 20th Oct!)

2 Nov - 186lbs

9 Nov - 184lbs

16 Nov - 181lbs (1st important meeting)

23 Nov - 179lbs (2nd important meeting)

Half a stone in 3 weeks - pretty pleased with that :) I feel I might be getting into my "obsessivehead" mode of thought (where I just DO THINGS like a sport...or exercising/eating very strictly to whatever I've decided is the right plan). Its like...I get into a mindset that is focused and a lot less likely to mess things up :D

Anyone know what's wrong with my ticker? I've pasted the BB code like before but its just showing up as code rather than the image :(

Thanks Kate - I get very frustrated when traffic makes the difference between a 50 min drive to work and a 2 hour drive - it just seems such a waste of time (and money if I've already paid for a training session - they are not cheap! eek!). Most of all though, I was just geared up to do some hard exercise and disappointed not to. The rest of the day was ok though - I manage quite a large team of juniors at work and a couple of them had real issues so lots of meetings and listening and trying to sort stuff out - and that's before I even got round to any client work!!

So, hi ho, its off to work I go! Cheerio!

How you making and what are you eating your porridge with Jjjay?

I would make mine from scratch with steel cut oats. And I added fruit to dress it up a bit. And I ate it with milk.

So one cup of oatmeal wasn't exactly free of calories, but it was filling and healthy.

Have a great day!

I make mine by opening the sachet, measuring out the semi-skimmed milk and putting in the microwave! hehe They are already flavoured so no issues about dumping a load of sugar or honey in and a portion is a portion! Its quick and easy and filling :D

Food today:

porridge for brekky - 220 cals

tea - 30 cals

carrot sticks - 60 cals

apple - 60 cals

2 small sandwich roll things at a client's for lunch - plain meat and salad - guessing 400 cals at the absolute max

3 slices of lean beef - 159 cals

2 x ferrero rocher = 150(eek)

Dinner? not eaten yet! (probably got a good 400-500 cals I can use and still be happy with the day)

Total so far - 1079

urgh. Just typed a big message and hit back by mistake...BAH!

Ok, so here's the short version!! Been away for a few days for half term - did better than expected, avoided hotel fry ups and had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs instead. But the evenings at restaurants were difficult, as was staying away from boiled sweets during the car journey (failed.). Damage mitigation though. Did lots of walking around so not totally lazy! Back at 191 lbs at the moment.

Been to the gym for training sessions on Tuesday and Weds and got another planned for Friday am. An hour at a time so killing it pretty hard and my trainer does not let up! He's great. Not sure how long I'm going to be able to keep finding the cash for 3 sessions a week but will try until at least christmas. I've only been doing it for 2 1/2 weeks so its going to be at least another couple of weeks until I start to see toning/definitive changes I think.

Food yesterday:

cereal - 220

tea - 30

boots shaper lunch - 247+36+75

apple - 50

pack of squares (oops) - 75

4 mini mars bar chocolates (not good) = 4x41 = 164

Tesco's mini tomato/garlic swirl = 200

4 roasted chicken thighs, no skin = 4x109 = 436

1/2 pack of wheat snacks = 47

Total - 1580

1 hour in the gym

20 mins walking

Been flicking emails back and forth with Mr X all week. He's suddenly loosened up a great deal since last week. I spoke to him at the end of the week and he was still really dwelling on the whole "not calling me when he promised he would" thing and feeling bad about it. We sorted it out and since then he's being much more...personal rather than work. Not that I'm complaining though! Just got authorsiation through to attend a conference that he is going to as well - a whole day! eek! ok! Less than a month to get my booty shaking!

Must dash to work now. Going to have a bit more free time over the next couple of days to hang out a bit more so see you all soon! Thanks for the posts!

Hate it when that happens to me too,,,,,,,,,,:reddevil:

you have a month ahead to do your stuff!!!!

You are really working out with the trainer thats great!!!YOu WILL get toned for sure if you keep it up.If you dont have the cash cant you just go to the gym abd do weights?

Hey guys.....anyone still out there>>?!??

Ok. Here we go. I have hit the awful brick wall of putting weight back on again. I am now back to 208 (from my lowest of 179). Sigh. I fractured a bone in my foot at the end of last year and haven't been able to run, or even barely walk in the last 5 months. Very painful and frustrating and I reverted to doing what I shouldn't have done...eating my way through my frustration. Work was also uber-stressful.

However, I am now on secondment to the big city, so have started cycling into work and back each day (10 miles each trip - so 20 miles a day, 2 hours cycling) which is making me feel GREAT and not much foot pain as a result. I just need to get my eating under control now and the weight should tumble off.

For the record - am seconded to Mr X's organisation for 6 months...eek! Yes the saga continues...he upset me at a conference at the end of last year but I've let it go now and we chat on the phone every few weeks. Hopefully going to a meeting with him and his boss in a couple of weeks time hence hoping that the major exercise and healthy eating will have a bit of an impact, even if only to make me feel better. I'm being realistic about it - I'll be lucky to lose 4-6 lbs but at least it will be a start.

So today's food:

2 slices of wholemeal toast, baked beans and a grilled tomato

1 apple

1 banana

jacket potato with grated cheese and large side salad (no dressing or mayo or anything)

1 chocolate bar

carrot soup and half a slice of bread for dinner

2 biscuits

Today's exercise:

20 miles bike ride (2 hours 20 mins overall)

2.5 miles walk

Aims:

7 June - lose 3lbs (205lbs)

14 June - lose 3lbs (202lbs) (meet X)

21 June - lose 3lbs (199lbs)

5 July - lose 6lbs (193lbs)

19 July - lose 6lbs (187lbs) (HOLIDAY!)

2 Aug - stay same (187lbs)

30 Aug - lose 10lbs (177lbs)

30 September - lose 8lbs (169lbs)

30 October - lose 8lbs (161lbs) (end of secondment)

Welcome back JamJar!

Sorry to hear bout your footsie. I hope its all better now. You start runnin again and I know you'll be back in onederland in no time....and thats just the start.

I hit 202 and spun out of control. Back up to 219ish after two weeks at an all inclusive in Cuba. <But it was sooo worth it lol (for the time being)>

Now I'm back down to 213ish....Its summer here and am hoping to take my shirt off without puking up a twinkie.

Great to here the X-Factor lives strong! Looking forward to some juicy gossip!

Sending positive vibes your way buddy!!!

Hugs from this side of the ponds :)

Hey hey hey Flumes!! Big hugs from over the pond right back atcha!!

So, just got back from town - cycled there and back again today - 20 miles, 2 hours of exercise. Its getting marginally easier! I shaved 7 mins off of my time home from yesterday's time. Surely doing this level of intensive exercise per day I must lose SOME weight?! I reakon its close to 600 cals burnt off.

Food today:

1 slice of wholemeal toast, baked beans and a grilled tomato

very small slice of cake

spaghetti bolg for lunch

skinny latte

1 bottle of light beer

salmon sashimi, goyoza dumpling, aubergine, squid and green tea at Yo Sushi

Note - no mid afternoon chocolate bar! Progress!!

Off on hols for next 4 days but am back posting and am getting MY MOJO RATTLIN' to lose this weight!!!

AThanks guys!! Away for a couple of days for mid term break so trying not to eat too badly. Looking forward to getting back to work and cycling. Feel a bit down that I'm not going to be any much lighter before I see mr x in a couple of weeks time but hey, it's my own big fat fault!! Should have eaten less and started earlier.

Does anyone else feel really disappointed with themselves for going backwards?! I feel that I achieved so much getting down to 178lbs and now thought stupidity have gone back up to 208. Partly because I injured my foot and had to stop running which has been very frustrating to say the least, but not an excuse for 30lbs. God, no wonder none of my clothes fit at the moment. I think I actually feel worse at this weight now than I did before (because before I was 30lbs less then than I started at).

Hmm, need to translate these negative feelings into motivation...

Ok, back from a brief break in the country and back in the saddle again.

27km / 17 miles cycled today in 2 hours and 2 mins (although I keep forgetting to turn mapmyride off until I've locked up my bike and am staggering inside...definitely getting faster though)

Mapmyride reakons that's 582 cals burned today but it seems to think I am 20lbs lighter no matter how much I change my profile.

Gone from cycling 11 miles in week 1 to doing 58 miles in week 2.

Food today:

2 slices of wholemeal toast, 1 grilled tomato and baked beans - approx 300

1 30g back of pretzel snacks - 113 cals

1 jacket potato and small portion of cheese - approx 500 cals

1 apple - 50 cals

dinner at Yo Sushi (oh I love it that they've put the cal content on the menu!) - 560 cals

2 cheese biscuits - 44 cals

3 cups of tea - 60 cals

Total = 1627

Exercise = -584

Total = 1043

Trousers feeling slightly less tight....too early to say for sure but the same pair were problematic a few weeks ago.

Did I mention that I'm staying at a relative's house...in the attic room...3 flights up...makes kitchen raiding for a snack so much less attractive! Plus I am up and down stairs at work all day too - 4 flights before I even get to my desk!

Today was a good day - I was tempted to have a chocolate bar after dinner but didn't (sounds a small thing eh? But seriously, its that kind of temptation that gets me every time).

Rainy old day today and I didn't sleep very well last night so I stayed in bed and did not cycle to work...

Walked 2 miles rather than getting the bus back - nothing like cycling but better than nothing!

Food:

Breakfast - bread roll and fruit smoothie (just plain old fruit) - 200 +250 = 450

Raw carrots - 95

Small portion of beef and plain broccoli, beans and carrots - 500?

2 cups of tea - 40

1 small latte - 150

Subway club wrap - 420

1/2 milkybar - 70

Total = 1725

Nice email from X though asking me if I had a good holiday. And a great meeting with my work boss re career future and next steps. So, in summary, today I feel fat and unattractive but valued and smart.
