Used My Fitness Pal today. Only major dietary mistake I made was have 3/4 cup of macadamia nuts (772 calories and 76 grams of fat). If I had skipped the macadamia nuts I would have been under my calorie goal. I didn't know they were that high, I will certainly eat less from now on. Actually significantly under on carbs today, which I guess is good? I'll just have to watch my blood sugar due having less carbs. Had too much fat, sodium, and sugar and not quite enough protein but more protein than I usually eat. At least the fats were healthier fats, I didn't have any fried food or anything. And most of the sugars were from fruit. Danced for 22 minutes this evening. Not the best day but not the worst either. I'm still learning but I think I'm doing better.
 
I think that's the main advantage to me in using MFP. I rarely complete the day on it now, but I often look things up. It's a very useful tool. I love nuts, but know that I have to limit them.

Thank you Cate! I am doing better, now 296.1 lbs, a 0.9 lb loss. Used MFP again. Had less fat and more carbs today, about normal amounts of both. A little low on protein and still too high on sodium. I made 2 mistake today. First, I had 18 rice cakes in one sitting, which equaled 900 calories and a stomach ache. Lesson learned. Then throughout the day I also had an entire small jar of jelly. Otherwise ate very healthy. Exercised for 47 minutes today. Did a variety of things, 13 minutes of strength training, 12 minutes of yoga, 4 minutes of stretching, 6 minutes of walking, and 12 minutes of dancing. With the calories burned taken off the calories I ate, only 174 calories over so not too bad all things considered. Should be better but I'll get there. And need to drink more water, been tracking that too and not been having enough.
 
18 rice cakes and not enough water? I wouldn´t even have been able to get them down without several large glasses of water! But at least they´re a lot better for you than the calorie-equivalent in chocolate. That´s what I´m trying to do: if I AM going to go over I try to do it in real food...
 
I don't know why but tracking water intake feels like too much for me personally to worry about. I'm already looking at calories and exercise, there's just something about having to worry about water that feels like too much to bother with. But I hope that doing so helps you. :D
 
Had a good food day yesterday and got a little exercise.

This morning's weigh-in was 295.2 lbs (-0.9 lbs).

I must be doing something right.

cookies and cream protein shake with cashew milk

lunch-
tofu scramble burrito

dinner-
gluten free dairy free tuna melt

snacks-
1/4 cup almonds
4 date and cashew nut truffles (no sugar)
5 caramel rice cakes
unsweetened cashew milk
1 slice cinnamon raisin millet bread with margarine

Estimated calories- 1,608
exercise- none
 
Feeling like you're going to pass out is no good :eek: Do you have blood sugar problems? (If you do, simple-carby snacks may be a bad idea, but I'm definitely in no position to criticize.)
Could you tell me what's in your tuna melt? I think I like the sound of that!
 
Yes, I do have blood sugar problems. I have insulin resistance from Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. Yes, my blood sugar has been low sometimes. It rarely gets high so that's good. My endocrinologist recommended combing a protein and a healthy carb for snacks. So I'll try to do that more.

My tuna melt consists of light wild skipjack tuna, light mayonnaise, dairy-free soy-based cheese and a gluten free roll.

Great news. I lost another 3.3 lbs, making a total loss of 5.1 lbs in 8 days!!!! The weight is finally starting to come off!!!!
 
Thank you everyone! The good news is I lost another 0.9 lbs. The bad news is I had about 4,000 calories yesterday. Had 5 servings of chocolate covered seeds, 10 servings of fruit snacks, and the rest was pretty healthy but just too much food. I'll get back on track today.
