~ I felt "liberated" by good weigh-in week too- had pancakes/bacon this morning ( guess we kind-of see it as a "reward" for our good behavior & some weight-loss achieved...)-

BUT sounds like U' n Me' also kept our "reward" reasonable - and we're both doing exercise to balance the Calorie reward - so I figure we are being

Smart Crazy ...?

~ at any rate - thanks for sharing how tempting & yummy those scones are ( & the recipe source) - I will make some - but I have NO resistance to baking - so it's good to know how tempting they are - I will have 1 & freeze the rest - then will only take out 1 at a time - that will protect me from a scone-party ! .... lol

Happy weekend MR, Happy sweating at the gym !

cheers,

Maryann C.

Thanks.

I don't feel quite as bad as I think about how many calories I had yesterday. I thought I had gone 2000 over my normal calories which would put me at 3500 calories, but I forgot I hadn't eaten supper before my cheat. So I actually only ate 2500 calories in total so I was only 1000 over. Still bad but not as bad as I thought.

Had a good day calorie wise. RIght now sitting at about 1340. Might have a cup of grapes to finish off at 1400 for the day. I also ran on the treadmill for an hour. I usually do 30 mins treadmill, 30 mins bike of elliptical, but today I did 60 mins treadmill. Partly cause I was watching Spiderman 2 on the TV and all the other TV's for other machines were being used, haha. My longest run before this was 2.63 miles, I did 4.94 miles today!! Was proud that I could run for an hour (with 5 or 6 min run intervals) and really not be too tired!

Tonight will be tough. Going to a friend's house for a party and she will be having chips and pop and such. I debated upon leaving myself a TON of calories so I could partake in the party food, but I already had such a bad day yesterday and once I start eating bad food I have problems stopping so instead I ate my calories in a normal way and am not going to have anything at the party. Gonna bring a big water bottle with Mio mix and just have fun without crap food!

Well done on the run!!

Haha I'm totally opposite with weigh ins... A good one will make me behave extra well, and a bad one usually ends up with one or two bad food days. Weird!!! You'd really think it should spur me on but it so doesn't!

Have fun at the party, good luck avoiding the naughty food. Hehe maybe even bring a plate of chopped carrot and celery with hummus, I'm sure you aren't the only person trying to eat healthy!

AThanks. So I did well! I didn't have the grapes. Instead I had 4 large pretzels at the party for a total calorie count of 58! I could have something at the party and use the same calories as my grapes would have been!

Good work Mystic on controlling the treats at the party to just the 4 preztels -

good choice!

& great on the 1hr - 4.94 miles on Treadmill - Spidey kept ya going !

- maybe a hot-man in your view is the secret to exercise??....hee hee .....

Probably the biggest issue I've had with dieting is balancing the wanting to be social with the need to not over consume calories. Whether it's drinking beer with the buddies at the bar, or going to parties with lots of drinks and snacks, it's hard to track calories and otherwise be good, when truth be told all you really want to do is have a good time with friends and not have to worry about it.

About all I've managed to do so far on this score is switch to light beers sometimes and try not to drink to excess (which is probably a good idea regardless of my size). I suppose unless you're partying every day of the week and/or really overdoing it when you do, it just qualifies as a day off and not to worry too much.

Thanks guys!!

The good new is that I don't drink so I save myself a lot of calories that way. Normally, if I hadn't already had a cheat meal this week I would have just had a good time and not been too concerned, but after my really bad day on friday I had to be very careful.

Already been to the gym today. Did 2.66 miles on the treadmill in 30 mins (5.5 speed, 6 min run intervals) then did 30 mins on the elliptical. Eating well today yet!

Looking great, MR! Keep up the good work!

As for drinking, I tend to be a bit of a beer snob, so if there isn't something I want, it's easy to skip, or I'll get one beer and call it an evening when I'm out for dinner. Then again, my life involves very little socializing right now, so it's easy to keep the drinks away!

Not a bad thing at all. It's a social crutch for me more than anything. An ice cold Miller High Life does go awfully well with a nice hot ribeye steak on a July evening though. :)

You seem to be doing a great job of exercising and paying some attention to what you eat (doing neither leads to where I found myself, and that started roughly around the age you're currently at). You'll be in the 130s before you know it, and from there it should be mostly fine tuning. Exciting stuff.

Thanks guys!! Today is going well. I am making more scones. I did actual calculations on what I was putting into the scones and instead of being 200 like the recipe says mine are about 115! Yay. Still gonna count them as closer to 200 just in case. Gonna try and make my soup too though may not have time today. Should have time tomorrow though!

Haha. Today went well. Ate well, was maybe 50 calories over 1500 but ok. Exercised hard!! 2.67 miles on the treadmill, then really pushed it on the elliptical, which is always my highest calorie burning/heart rate workout that I do. Phew! THen practised my burlesque choreography for a bit.

Came back home and made Peanut Butter Muffins!! Each muffin is about 200 calories and for low fat, pretty good!

I had my home made soup for supper. Need to make a new batch of it as this was my last frozen container of it. Was gonna make it both yesterday and today but have run out of time both days!! Tomorrow and thursday probably won't be good for it either as I have to both ride and go to the gym/fitness class. Maybe friday but for sure on the weekend.

Hey Mystic - great work on the TM & Eliptical - major calorie burn ! U go Girl !

Thanks, ya the recipe is from skinny taste but it was supposed to be banana peanut butter muffins but I don't like nor have bananas so it was just PB muffins.

Good day today though I felt a bit tired/lazy so didn't go to the barn and ride. I ate well though, made myself soup for the next several days. About to get ready and head off to my dance fitness class.

So today didn't finish as well as I thought. I had a couple moments at work where when I stood up my vision got a bit blotchy but that happens sometimes and I wasn't too worried or anything by it, but when I was at my Dance Fitness class I just completely zoned out and had a very hard time working out. So I came home and had tuna and a smoothie. I am gonna try to go bed as early as I can too.

I might think about upping my calories by 100-200. It will depend a bit on my weigh in. If I lose far too much I will up my calories as a lot of the time I am netting below 1200 calories on workout days (5-6 days a week) and sometimes as low as 700. If I am losing at a normal rate is probably just cause I am not sleeping enough and maybe I am over estimating some of my food. Or I could have just had one of those days today!!

How long had it been between the last time you ate and your workout? I have low blood pressure which also makes me more susceptible to low blood sugar- Make sure you eat an hour (or two-max!) before your workout so your sugar levels don't drop too much. Another possiblity is you could have low iron. Hope you feel better, I know how bla it can feel especially if it hangs around several days!

And of course if you are having days where you eat less than 1000 cals, that would definitely be a contributor!

I had a brief light headed thing at the baseball game last week. Big enough that my friend noticed it. But it went away quickly and didn't come back.

It can be hard to tell what to do about it if anything, particularly when dieting. You could start taking a daily multivitamin just to be on the safe side, but the benefits of those have been shown to be a little underwhelming in the average case. But there's no saying you're the "average case." Or you may just need a little more food. Hard to say. If you really feel like you're doing a ton of exercise, you could probably bump up your calories to 1600 without too much worry.
