I love Mexican food but always end up looking like I'm about to give birth to a Mexican food baby :ack2: Bet after eating so well for so long that your tummy was bad! And go for 210!

210...hmmmmmm...Callenge accepted!

If I was Popeye I would open up a can of spinach. (sorry for obscure cartoon reference)

I don't think splurging once in a while is that bad. I think I would give up if I couldn't do that now and again. Now I wouldn't do it often of course, but if you're eating great most of the time, it won't kill you. As long as it doesn't become a habit. A better option may be that once a week, eat something that you really like, just eat it in a proper portion. That way you still get the taste of it, but don't over do it because you know that once a week you can get it.

Yeah Risty, I think if you absolutely deny yourself, you are setting yourself up for a fall.
Mileage total for July to date-171
Will probably do alternate exercise tomorrow, but is better but mild irritation in my 48 year old hip. Don't want an injury.

Totally agree It's always good to let oneself go once in a while.
Also did that this weekend myself, so we both are gonna get back on track now, right?

Thanks friends. My bike goal is complete but I am worried about my 12 lbs in July goal. I got on the scale this morning after two good days back on track since my Mexican fiesta meal. I was up a pound to 279. In order to hit my 12 lb goal I need to see 274 by the end of July. May not happen the way my body seems to be only giving me begrudging progress.
This has been my pattern.
1. Brawny is a good boy, exercises and eats 1500-2000 calories a day
2. Brawny loses 3-4lb.
3. For no apparent reason, Brawny gains 2 back
4. Brawny stays with it.
5. Brawny re-loses the 2lb
6. Start process over.
If thats how its gonna be then so be it but I may need to be going for 8-10 lb per month goals and not 12.
Sigh

And now friends and virtual neighbors it is time for "Deep THoughts From Brawny" Pay attention, this doesnt happen often:

Its the little things.
As I enter my second twenty pounds of loss I have pondered a bit on little but pleasant changes that just twenty pounds off have made.
1. I realized I was actually enjoying getting dressed in the morning. I wasnt avoiding half the clothes in my closet because they were too tight or would not fit at all.
2. I sweat less. I used to sweat like a ...well...like a fat boy. Now I sweat like a not as fat boy. There is a real difference
3. I dropped my keys...bent over to get them...no big deal...used to be a big deal.
4. Not avoiding going upstairs at home anymore
5. Mrs Brawny likes the weight off (wink wink)
6. I have more energy. Not as much as I want but still, I do see improvement.
7. My 17 year old son said I look taller. (I think that means less round)

Now I gotta make the next 20 lbs happen!

Awesome!
Love to hear "success stories" (pardon the corny term) like these. Motivation in buckets for the rest of us to keep going, and most of all motivation for you to attack the next 20 lbs!

Well done on the weight loss,
loving all your points, number five made me giggle like a teenager.
Number two I totally get. That was one of my favorite things that changed on my first huge weight loss. I hate sweating

So good to read your list and it only gets better for each 5 lbs you work off.
I've got stuff in my closets I cannot wait to wear, you just reminded me!
