Ok people, to start with I can assure you Spaghetti Bolognese is not a baloney sandwich with spaghetti sauce. Bolognese is a type of pasta sauce perhaps what you all refer to as spaghetti sauce. I have included an example of a recipe for you Brawny, though you seem to have slipped off radar for a little while. Hope you are doing okay playing Mr Mum!!

Spaghetti Bolognese (Not my recipe but your basic bolognese sauce)
2 carrots, peeled & diced
1 medium onion, diced
3 sticks of celery, diced
3 gloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 pounds Lean ground beef
3 6-ounce cans tomato paste
2 cups hearty red wine
3 bay leaves
3 sprigs of thyme
1 teaspoon sugar
Water

1.In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium high heat. Add the diced vegetables and season generously with salt. Stirring frequently, cook until all the water has evaporated and brown bits start forming on the bottom of the pan, about 15-20 minutes.
2.Add the ground beef and season again generously with salt. Stirring frequently, brown the beef for another 15-20 minutes.
3.Stir in the tomato paste and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes
4.Add the red wine and turn up the heat to medium-high. Reduce the wine by half, another 5 minutes.
5.Add approx. 2 cups of water Toss in the bay leaves and bundle of thyme and stir to combine everything. Sprinkle in the sugar and bring the sauce to a boil and reduce to a simmer, stirring occasionally.Simmer until sauce is well reduced.
6. Serve over hot spaghetti pasta and garnish with parmesan cheese.

It has been months since I was on here....Where does the time go?

I wish I could tell yall that Im totally skinny but unfortunately thats not why I am here.
I am back from the doctor and I am up like 9 lbs from where I was this summer. I am here cause if I don't get back in the groove, I will have all 60 that I lost back.

So time to begin again. I will be posting more regularly. This forum was such a help to me before I hope to gain momentum again.

Mostly Turkey and no pie for me Thursday!
 
Okay starting again (sigh)

Heres me plan mateys (how do you spell mateys?, you know like in pirate talk?)
1800 calories a day
Exercise like hell. (well actually gradually build till I can once again exercise like hell)
Got up this morning and rode mt bike for 21 minutes...its a start.
So far today I am at about 700 calories. I am only gonna eat about 1200 today to save up a few hundred extra for tomorrow. Kinda stupid starting a diet two days before Thanksgiving but thats the way my wake up slap in the face from my doctor happened.
Momentum!.....I need momentum....
 
HEY BUDDY! good to see you back as well! i was totally in your boat --i was doing so well and then i actually went to the doctors at the end of this summer and i was up about 10 pounds from my lowest and my doctor was like "whats up?" but ive been just eatin gbetter (not even wroking out) since sept and ive managed to lose it all plus some more. so anyway pointtt isss you're going to be finee! :) and good start with the bike. let's totally do thisss and get that b-o-d we all want.

Nice to hear from ya again.
Well I did something today that I havent done in 6 months...I exercised twice. Just did 20 minutes on the bike.
Also had the day off and cut some firewood........feelin pretty manly right now.
 
Turkey day report:
Ate one big meal...thats it...didnt go crazy and dint do it all again after 3 or 4 hours.

Just rode the ol bike 31 minutes.

Tryin to get back in the saddle but the horse is complainin a bit.
I am gonna weigh in tomorrow morning and see where I am.
 
Exercised twice today as well
Just did another 20 minutes on the bike

Didnt want to get on but whatdaya know...I feel better now than before I got on....amazing how sometimes I let the dread of exercise or a bit of tiredness let me forget how good I feel after a workout....gonna dwell on that a while...maybe it will sink in.

Worked in the yard and biked for 35 minutes.
One bad thing
When I weighed in on my home scale I was up 9 from my lowest instead of the six that my Drs scale said. I knew his scale was kinder than mine....dang...9 lbs...and thats after 4 days on plan. I bet I was up 11 or 12...I hate relosing weight...I absolutely hate it. But at least I got slapped in the face before I gained it all back

Well I had a disappointing weigh in this morning....
Lost 1 pound.
After 4 good days only 1 pound.
All I can do is turn my frustration into determination.
I will stay on plan and something is bound to bust loose (hope its not my belt)
Rode my bike 21 minutes this morning I sat around the fire drinking coffee too long but I will get back on the bike for a double dip this evening.
Gotta stay focused....
 
Back on the bike this morning...after sitting by the fire and drinking 3 cups of hot black coffee....Fireplaces and coffee are two of my favorite non-caloric things.

Gonna weigh in in the morning....I am still on plan...sooner or later I gotta see some downward movement on the scale. Ive been good for 6 days now.
 
Rode my bike TWICE yesterday!
And the last time I went for 45 minutes.
Snuck on the scale this morning and I was down 3lbs since Monday!
