thanks for setting up the thread. I am gonna check it out now...poof

Ha oh good i thought you would be uptight maybe that i went ahead and did it:)But i like challenge threads more incentive i find and easier to see your progress:)!!!

Hey Brawny77! Thanks for stopping by the Diary and yes, I am an infielder. Although, I can play anywhere and know what to do, so I don't really care! As long as I'm playing and making a contribution, it's all good in the neighborhood! And by Mel, I'm assuming you mean Chef? I don't know his real name but that's my guess... By the way, I read your diary and KEEP it going dude! I know exactly how you feel on stopping then starting to lose weight, it's a vicious, vicious cycle! Also, I love this site and I'm at work with a computer in front of me, so any chance I get, I'm here! Have a good day!

Okay heres my idea for a bike challenge. I call it Brawnys April race yourself challenge. I am gonna post the total miles I want to ride in the month of April and whenever I ride I will post it and keep a running total on my thread. Who wants a peice of the action? I think it could be done with walking or (gasp) running also
Here my bid....I am gonna beat 200 miles of total bike mileage in April.
Who's in? You dont have to match me. You might be at a different level. Just pick a number that is challenging yet attainable.
Lets get pedaling!
I think I can do 200 miles on the bike.. I"m in homie!!! woooooooooooohoooooooooooooo!!!  I did 6 miles on tuesday.. :)

Gone all day to a track meet yesterday but rode bike before I left! 10.o3 miles. My discus lessons to my 13 year old paid off he did really well (chip off the ol block) Unfortunately he is also a chip off the old block in running. Coach put him in the 800....lets just say he finnished and he wasnt last.

hmmm.... I wonder how many miles I get in SPinning class....does that count?

....I could commit to that ONCE a week..:blush5:....:driving:

Thats the beauty of my challenge Alta anything you want to count counts...Just make your bid about how far you want to go and race yourelf!

You know Ive been thinkin again (wow thats like twice this week)
This weight loss is hard and slow but it really is so worth it. The benefits are soooo many I mean health wise, self esteem wise, energy wise.......
Why is all that good stuff so easily forgotten when we stray or on those other times when I lost 20 or so than gained it all back plus more? I guess I let my brain sleep and listen to my primitive eating urges. But now that I have been pretty much on plan since halloween I do find myself listening to that bad side much less. I have definitely formed positive eating habits.
By the way I have had no fast food (none) for 95 days now!

Wow, now that thinking stuff has to hurt!!!j/k Good work on the fast food efforts mate!! AWESOME!!

I know what you mean about losing some weight then gaining it all back plus more, that was last years story for me. I was determined to lose weight before my wedding and lost 22lbs only to gain it all back plus more three months after the wedding. Now that I look back on it, I can see what I did wrong, I was in it for the wrong reasons. I was only worried about how I would look in my wedding pics not looking at it as a lifestyle change.Thats whats different this time!!

I had the opportunity to read through your journal, and I'm impressed! You're definately an inspiration. Your work ethic demonstrated in your workouts deserves serious respect.

Keep up the good work, man! You've accomplished a lot already, but I know this is only the beginning for you; you'll see your goals soon enough.

I really dig all of the lyric quotes. Music is helping me through this, too. When I hit the treadmill, I always throw on a good rock CD. Metallica really gets me in the mood to sweat.

Thanks again for stopping by my journal! I'm gonna be keepin my eye on your journal to keep track of your progress and search for inspiration to workout.

GREAT WORK!:hurray:

Thanks for positive input friends.
Slipped up on my eating on Sunday (homemade enchiladas need I say more?) but I was back on the bike this morning and have been perfect so far today. Man is it ever Monday...People and their problems..thats what I do.

Rough week
Lots and lots of putting out fires. But it is leveling off I think. Springtime in the school business is crazy. Whew! Oh well the perfect job aint open. Im just whinin, people and their problems are just job security for me. Makes me crave my exercise time. Boy do I feel better after a workout! Amazing to see myself saying that. I havent felt that way about exercise since my college football days. (he gets a nostalgic misty look on his face) aaaahhh 1987 was such a good year...Yall should have seen me all buff and sportin my mini mullet....Damn I was cool!

Im Back
Tough dose of real world in the past few days. To begin with on god friday I go to have this little suspect mole removed from my stomach. (I was a life guard for several summers in my early twenties so I keep an eye on such things) Well......HE CUT A HELL OF A HUNK OUTTA ME!!...6 stitches...couldnt exercise for 4 days. Dang Getting back to normal now..I get the stitchs out tomorrow. Also dealing with personell issues at work (thats a nice way of saying that I had to fire a couple of people) I hate that part of my job but I must put whats best for the kids first. Leaves ya kinda feelin down. But I believe I should be better soon. Gotta get back in the groove of Ill be gaining

Time to renew
1.I am gonna get on here more often...you guys have been a very big part of my success so far and I have not been on here for the focus that this site helps bring near enough for the past few weeks....
2. I will meet my 200 mile bike goal for April (I got 79 miles to go)
3. I will be at 279 by my Dr Appointment on Friday. (281 this morning)
4. I will hit my friends threads more on here and try to help them (and some new folks) the way that they have helped me.

There is is...REFOCUS BABY
I have been complacent for like 6 weeks. amazing how I seem surprised when returning to the same behavioral traits that put me in the shape I was in begin to return me there. When will I learn?

Knocked out 12 miles on the bike this morning. Thats 3 days in a row. getting a bit of momentum again.
I have a Drs appointment on Friday and I am hoping for some good numbers then.
Life is gonna happen whether I stay on plan or not. Each day will go by so why not do what is right on each of those days?. I feel soooo much better when I am exercising and eating right that I need to just resolve to make the right decission at those critical moments when that fat guy who lurks in my brain is trying to talk me out of it. The critical moment came this morning at 5:10 a.m. when my alarm went off to get up and exercise. It had been a long day yesterday with work and then coaching my sons baseball team and that fat guy in my head wanted to sleep an extra hour instead of getting up....Well I almost listened to him but instead I rolled out and I feel So much better for it.
