I am 80% or so better today. I am gonna start back with a little exercise tomorrow. Do yall realize I have not skipped 3 days in a row of exercise since Dec?

I havent exercised all week, Ive bene pretty beaten down emotinally and hten Im sick agina been sick for 2 weeks and my lil one is sicker than ever now, going onto 3 weeks:(

How often do you ride your bike? Do you wanna do like a bike competition or companionship thingy, LOL...

I really do think this site has been a large part of keeping me on the wagon for this long. In the past some little thing like my small injury would have been the thing that got me off track and before I knew it, i would have gained it all back. But not this time!

I'm back baby!!! Execised this morning for 26 minutes (a little test run on my bike to see if my back would hurt) No Problemo!
I was gonna do like 20 minutes or so to be sure not to overdo it and prolong my recovery but right at about 20 minutes "Back in the Saddle" by Aerosmith came randomly on my ipod. How perfect was that? So I rode a bit more...No side effects, no back pain. Now if I can just remeber to respect the fact that my back is 44 years old and not listen to the 14 year old who resides in my brain and tells me to throw discuses, I will be good.

Also, A bit of news, (whispers) Can yall keep a secret? My wife turns forty tomorrow. I have been planning a surprise for her for a while now. She thinks she is getting some new patio furniture for our back porch. Well she is getting this but...I have rat holed about a thousand bucks (20 bucks out of every mileage reimbursement for about 3 tears) and I have my mom set up to watch the kids and I am gonna take her on a shopping spree and I am gonna act like I enjoy watching her shop for clothes or whatever (too bad she doesnt want a bass boat). I will actually be taking her like on Sunday or Monday which should add to the surprise.

Had to put off the surprise trip till tuesday and wed. thats where Ive been. We had a lot of fun. At first i had to insist on her buying some things for herself but she got warmed up. She bought 3 pairs of shoes some perfume, a couple of workout shorts/tops combos 2 new rugs for the house, some big decorative pillows, 3 or 4 new shirts a swim suit and a couple of things for the kids. We also went to a 100 dollar dinner at a very nice seafood restaurant in Dallas She had swordfish and I had tuna steak with a honey soy sauce (mmmmmm)
All is back to normal today. Worked out. I should erase any effects that the rich eating took on my diet I didnt go nuts but Im sure I went over a little. She was very surprised and did not expect it. I was glad to force her to spend a little on herself since she always puts us first.
 
Okay time to refocus
Spring Break is over and I only stayed kinda on plan. Broke even on my weight. I realized something last night. I have been hovering at the same weight for 3 weeks now. I had this great push to hit 50lb loss then when I got it I kinda went into neutral for a while. The only thing that saved me was my new found (refound) love of exercise.
Also I was plenty busy (no excuse but it did cost me some off plan eating but still havent had any fast food)
New things I have done to reset myself and get me reducing again:
1.Made a menu and exercise plan for the next week. I am gonna bust my tail to be perfect. I planned 3 meals and 2 snacks per day so it is very doable. Already rode my bike this morning. Breakfast, snak and lunch already perfect so far today.
2. Set a new fitness goal. I want to run 1 mile without stopping. I know that is really pretty pitiful to you fit people out there with only 20 lb to lose but realize that back in the summer (50 lbs ago) I couldnt even have imagined running more than a few steps. This is also sad because back in my athlete days a 2 mile run was a warm up before a workout. But right now running 1 mile has just entered my mind as a possibility. I also use the term "running" very losely. Maybe I should say I want to chug along and not walk for 1 mile. Anyway I think I can do it in a month or so. I am gonna start tonight with a 2 minute jog! Whooohoo! ....Baby steps!
Time to quit messin around and make some more progress!

Ive been the same weigh tfor the last 3 weeks...but hey at least it isnt a gain right!

And Ive been on the fence too much lately,Ive been dealign with alot but time to get back into a routine/schedule...

Great day yesterday! Exercised TWICE! Thats right sports fans...TWICE! Got up early drank a couple of cup of high octane black coffee (I love coffee) Then put on my new ipod and jumped on my stationary bike for a 10 mile ride....Then followed my eating plan all day ...then while my son was at baseball practice i walked and jogged around the field.....That was the first time I have jogged in like maybe 8 years! Even though it was pitiful (walked 5 minutes, ran 2 minutes, walked 5, ran 2, walked 5, ran 1 then walked 5) It was a start. I am really sore today ...just from that! it was also pitifully slow running. The players (third and forth graders) were talking to me as I would pass home plate. They know me because they are my son's friends and because I am superintendent of ther school. As I came around one time the catcher aske "are you just runnin around the field?" I answer..."yep (pant pant) I'm working out" Then on my next lap he says "You aint going very fast are ya?"....Out of the mouths of babes...sad but true

HAHAHAHAHA!! Cheeky lil buggers!! You really just wanted smack them across the head, didnt ya!!j/k Good on ya mate! Exercising twice and jogging!! Way to get back into your exercise regime.

Hey Brawny!!!! :hurray::hurray: Good job on the running and starting back up on your plan again!!!:hurray::hurray: Just to read that has motivated me... I'm so glad.. I know I wanted to hit 170 so bad that when I got right around I just stayed there.. But my real goal is 125 but since I was in the 196's I was like shit I just need to get away from that point.. I feel you in January I would have done anything to be in 170's but reality is 125 is where I need to be... Thanks for stopping by.. I love reading your diary it makes so much damn sense.. I joined ballys gym today and made a promise to go 3 times a week at night.. They even have a kids corner where they watch my kid for me... No excuses:iagree:Good Job!!!! you are truly doing amazing.. and I guess the truth is catching yourself when you are about to slipp... Okay got that pic posted. Still too fat but getting better.
Exercised 2 times again yesterday and was up early this morning and did 40 minutes and 11 miles on the bike. Jammin with my iod. Music is sooooo key to keeping me going in a workout.
I am beginning to feel like I am back on my game. I feel a positive roll comin on! I need to knock off 10 lbs I have been at this point too long. Aint nuthin but a thang!
