Personally I think it is okay. 2,200 or so is the average amount of calories a person needs per day (dependent on gender, activity level etc). For weight loss one needs to have less than that. It's just a basic input vs. output .. to lose 1 lbs per week you need to eat 300 calories less per day (for example 2,200 - 300 = 1,900 cals). If you want to lose more .. then modify some more but don't go too low.
If say you think you overdid it for today .. then just put some activity at the end of the day. Even if you did a stationary walk in your living room for 10 - 20 minutes .. it'll help burn a few calories off of that.
