BikiniBound's Diary

Oh ya, I think I dropped 20 right after birth, you will loose ALOT of it once that lil guy/gal gets tehhell outta there:)LOL

You have facebook too huh, I will have to look ya up:)

Kimberly, did the package arrive for the baby? It shipped weeks ago now..

You are totally bugging about your weight girl. You will look back and realize that at the end it is impossible to stop gaining cuz its ALL BABY. The baby just grows really fast and plumps up at the end. So DONT WORRY! No lie, I lost 32 lbs in 3 weeks after giving birth.

yes, it arrived last week--thank you! I have been meaning to get a thank you card out, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. *slaps hands*

How can it be all baby when baby only weighs a little over 7lbs?? I know there's the placenta, amniotic fluid, etc. But still, that only adds up to about 5lbs extra. Ugh...I still feel like I've let myself down. I hear all the time of women only gaining like 15lbs and I'm so damn jealous. :(I realize I set a high standard for myself, but I was just sure I could do it.

Dawn and Cerella--I don't know about losing it fast and my determination..lol. Lately I've been really bad about eating sweets. That has been my downfall. I had planned a healthy dinner last night of salmon and veggies, then D's friend invited us over for dinner. That was steaks, mashed potatoes, salad, garlic bread, and pecan pie with ice cream for dessert. Not terrible, but still pretty high in cals I'm guessing. Still, miraculously, my weight was down a lb from yesterday. Perhaps it was the half hour walk I did.

It's fluid, really. I went into the hospital at 205lbs and left at 185lbs. That's 20lbs of baby, placenta, and fluid. Bella was only 7lbs 3oz. And it will take you NO TIME to drop the extra 10lbs. You've done amazing for your first pregnancy. Most of us gain 60-80lbs.

Glad you got it. Did you have one of those chairs yet? It vibrates and the babies seem to find it relaxing. Main thing you will find that you need somewhere to put the baby down, they like different places and this way you can set him/her down in different rooms with you or take it with you when you go places, otherwise you're holding that baby constantly!

Do you realize how much water your body is holding right now? As soon as you give birth, you will find yourself on the toilet for the next several days peeing it all out. I was LOVING the scale for the first 3 weeks after the birth. I was losing a pound almost every day for the first few weeks. I LOVED weighing! So yeah, there's no way in hell I lost 32 lbs of fat, so most of it had to be baby and fluids. Remember I gained a lot more than you though so a lot of it turned out to be fluids, but then there was the extra 30 lbs of flab that I'm STILL trying to get rid of! You'll be fine.. Its getting warmer and you and the baby can go on some walks.

Looking in on you. All I can say is that one of my slimming club leaders was saying a couple of months ago that she had someone in one of her groups weigh in with over a stone loss in the week because she gave birth that week. Remember - 14 pounds are one stone so that backs up what the others are telling you. You have done really well to be looking at a 30 pound gain. Your weight will be where it was in no time at all.

I think you guys whilst trying to be helpful need to stop giving her false hope also. Whilst a good portion will drop with the baby there is always the extra fat your body naturally accumulates whilst pregnant as well. If she says shes been eating badley then she will just have to loose it after the baby comes, just like she lost it before she was pregnant!
I very much doubt shes gonna go back to being whale sized just because she gave birth! it just means she will have to do runs with a pram or baby pack on instead! Pregnancy is terrible for cravings and other, i was bad because i gave in every single time and gained far too much fat. I think i recall eating an entire chicken one night once, and that was on more than one occasion!

So not trying to be a downer here, just trying to be realistic. I got sick of people telling me i wasnt fat when i clearly was, i believe if they had told me then i would have been more inclined to not make excuses for myself and do something about it earlier.

I think doctors these days must be really pushing ladies to keep their weight down during pregnancy. I understand you don't need to gain 60 lbs (like I did for the first one.) But, not everyone is the same. One woman might gain 10 lbs and another 30 lbs and still lose it all after the baby comes.

It's all about genetics. My sister just had her 2nd baby and she was so frazzled about her weight gain. It wasn't much at all - not like what I did the first time around. She's fine and the baby is fine.

I really think we have too much worry going on in this world today! And, a lot of it is because of "statistics".

It sounds like you've progressed well and you will have a bundle of joy (and other stuff -- LOL) soon enough!

Amy--I think losing 20lbs while in the hospital is fairly unusual. Most women I know have only lost between 10-15lbs. Still, I hope I have your experience..lol. :)

Claudia--No, I didn't have one of those yet, so it'll work out well. I do plan to use a sling a lot around the house, too. *wink to Amy* So that will let me get things done and still keep the baby close (and hopefully content).

Margaret--I know that the first few weeks after delivering, one tends to lose weight fairly quickly as the fluid levels go down and the uterus shrinks back to it's normal size. Hopefully it won't take too long for my weight to get back to pre-preg numbers.

Wishes--Well, I was fat before I got pregnant..lol. Although much less fat than I was two years prior. I am not sure how much is fat and how much is baby bc everyone tells me that I'm "all baby" and that my face (the first place I get fatter) doesn't look any different from before. So who the hell knows where the weight gain is going. It seemed to start getting bad the last few weeks--which just happens to coincide with a virtual stoppage of exercise due to lack of time/energy. But now that the weather is improved, even if I can't get to the gym, I can still get out and walk, like I did yesterday and today. Also, I wouldn't say that I am pigging out--well, not all the time, and not crazily. Today was a really good day eating-wise. I would say my average calories lately have been around 2600 per day. So that's not terrible--not great, but not terrible. :D
And I'll post baby pics as soon as possible. :)

Grebber--You seen I was from Michigan? Figures a Buckeye would have bad grammar. Everyone knows Mich is a superior school academically.

Sweatpea--Thanks for the pep talk..lol. My original OB said to only gain between 10-15lbs. :svengo: My midwives say I'm doing fine..lol. Still, I was hoping to keep it around 20. Whateva....

No baby yet..lol

I've been exercising everyday lately. Took 30min walks M-W and Today did 30min at the gym. My weight is still not going down--but at least it's not really going up, either. Of course, making crepes with lingonberry jam and low-cal syrup at 9pm last night doesn't help..lol. That added nearly 1,000 calories, making my grand total about 2,750 for yesterday. But they were soooo good, I don't care. It was worth it. :sifone:

Kimberly has been pretty good with her eating and exercising during her pregnancy, and has barely gained anything at all until -- low and behold -- the last few weeks when we all know the baby seems to get bigger and heavier by the second. So yeah, in Kimberly's situation, I am quite hopeful that this is mostly baby and fluids. Sure 5 or 10 pounds might be new fat, but in my book gaining 10 pounds of fat during an entire pregnancy is virtually nothing. So no false hopes here..

POOH & Double Dang! :biggrinjester:

I was hoping to check in and see....

I'm in LABOR Y'all..

*HeeHee* ;)

You are in my prayers sweetie! :grouphug:

Thought for sure that I would pop in here today to find out I missed out on the big announcement! LOL
But alas no.
Hope your not feeling too uncomfortable.
Sending you some "baby birthing vibes".
Ciao girly!

I told you all my midwife said she highly doubted I would deliver before my due date. So I don't know why you all think the baby should be here by now. It'll come when it's damn good and ready. And I hope it isn't ready before Monday, b/c I have 10 houses to show over the next three days. :smilielol5: Damn buyers!! I've been sending them listings and asking if there's anything they want to see for the last 3 weeks. And of course they pick this weekend to want to do it--and a freaking marathon of houses to boot. Well, I do have an agent to cover for me should I go into labor this weekend.

You are fond of a treat with all that work planned for the weekend. Wear your pedometer and class it as exercise and feel good about it. It should certainly counteract the naughty food treat of the day. You are at the stage where even I would be putting my feet up and having a step count as near to zero as possible.
