BikiniBound's Diary

Val--Thanks. I had my other shower yesterday and it was even better than the last one. :) Got lots of lovely things, but now I have the big ticket items to buy..lol.

Dawn--That's sad about the cat. You try to do a nice thing and get crap for it, meanwhile, people are out there mistreating animals and get off with a slap on the wrist. :cuss:

I am having some nesting going on, in that I'm bugging the crap out of David to get things done around the condo, and am always tidying up, etc. :D

Well, the reason I haven't been around much is b/c I still don't have a computer. It turns out I either have to spend $350 to get my laptop fixed, or buy a new one. I think I'll just buy a new one, so I have to get that done (among other things) this week, b/c I'm going crazy without my computer at home. Luckily my office is only 3 min from home, but it's still not so easy b/c it means I have to get dressed, etc to go there.

This weekend was super busy. Two college friends drove in from Minneapolis and Milwaukee to help co-host my baby shower along with my friend here. So Saturday was busy with them, and Friday I had a meltdown. Why? Well, the dishwasher hadn't worked since we hooked it up (it was old), and since I had my GFs coming in and would be doing a lot of cooking on Sat, I wanted a dishwasher that works--especially for after the baby arrives. So Weds night I went to Lowes and bought one. They said we had to have the old one unhooked and ready to go or they wouldn't haul it away. H came home really late Weds night, and didn't have the time or the tools to unhook it. So when Lowes called me Thurs am to tell me the delivery time, I told them they couldn't deliver it that day, to do it Friday instead. So H managed to get the old dishwasher unhooked on Thursday, but we soon discovered that if you run the kitchen tap, water leaks from the unhooked dishwasher line. The genius who installed it didn't put a separate shutoff valve. :cuss: So I couldn't use my kitchen tap. If I needed cold water I had to get it out of the tub faucet. :ack2: Our bathroom sink faucet hasn't had the cold water tap running since we moved in, so David's friend came over Friday morning to install the new bathroom faucet, and in the meantime, the new dishwasher was delivered but scratched a bit. David didn't want to pay full price for it, and called them up. He told me they didnt have another one in stock, so it would be a week. I was freaking out b/c I wanted my damn dishwasher NOW!! I had gone to all that trouble to get it, and he was messing up all my plans. So I called Lowes back (after a crying jag) and they said it was the panel they were ordering, not the whole dishwasher. So I could hook up and use the damaged one in the meantime. :hurray: So that made me happy. But then David and his friend had to go back to work before they were finished with hooking up the dishwasher, and the bathroom sink faucet was torn out, but the new one not installed. So the only water supply was from the shower. His friend said he'd be back next week to finish the job!! I lost it and burst into tears. He felt terrible and said he was only kidding and that he'd be back after work that night to finish. And he did. I now have a perfect bathroom faucet and the dishwasher works fine. But bloody hell, was that day full of needless tears.
So after that episode I had to get myself together b/c I had a closing. Add to this that I have a nasty head cold that has me totally congested. It wasn't pretty.

You poor thing! What a horrible day you had. At least the baby shower went really well.

Pretty soon the baby will be here and those damn pregnancy hormones will go away! I'm feeling them big time right now. My father had a major surgery last week on his spine and was in ICU all weekend. The damn nurses ignored his call THREE times for pain meds ad the time they got there he was in agony. My pregger hormones kicked in and I almost made that damn nurse cry. They were EXCELLENT caregivers the rest of the weekend. ;)

After all the time I've spent in the hospital with my mom and gran, I know you have to be their advocate, bc sometimes the nurses are good, and sometimes they aren't. Hope your dad recovers well. Was this surgery planned or unexpected?

At least everything with the whole dishwasher/bathroom faucet saga ended well. :)

This week my mission (aside from getting another closing taken care of) is to get all the bare essentials I'll need for the baby that I still don't have. Since I'm less than 3 weeks away from my due date, the baby could come at any time, so I want to be preprared. On my list of must haves are:
1. Bassinet
2. Diapers
3. Diaper Bag
4. Car seat
5. Changing table pad/cart
6. Sling

David and I are going to pick up one of the dressers my gran is giving us tonight so I have somewhere to put all the baby clothes/blankets etc that I got from my showers. Currently my dining room table and the area around it is filled with baby gifts. :D I'm going to use the top of the dresser as the changing table. I also need to get my hospital bag together..lol.

The night shift nurses were horrible and it took quite a bit of complaining for them to get their asses in gear. They were hanging out at the front desk while my dad was waiting. Grrr!

This was a planned surgery. He had to have some major work on his spine, it was in really bad shape. He's a diabetic so the healing is slower than usual and he had to stay under observation for awhile. He went home today though (too early I think) so I will be calling multiple times a day to check on him. My mom isn't exactly the "nurse" type. LOL!

Hey Star, wonderful to hear from you :). Can't believe the baby is right around the corner. The time went so fast, it seems like just yesterday that you announced the pregnancy. Glad you're getting everything in order, that water is coming in just the nick of time!

buawhahaha!

Hey Kimberly!

Looks like I come back on here just in time for you to pop that bun outta your oven ! hehe
Glad to read that things are going according to plan/schedule for ya! Seems I was away just about your entire pregnancy huh ?

Hey Kimberly. You are SOoooo close now... I'm excited for you!
Always such a busy and hectic time. Take good care of yourself, and good luck and best wishes!!! (incase it happens real soon, and you don't have another chance to get on here) :) :)

Yay! The baby's almost here! You know what can speed things up a bit? A little slap and tickle. Tell your H to get in line!

Thanx by the way for the rep/compliment:)

you can't take the bambino home without one of those -so move that to the top of the list :) Grocery bags can serve as diapers in a pinch :)

Yes, I know they won't let me take the baby home without a proper car seat. The list wasn't in order of importance, just the order in which they rolled off my brain...lol.

Claudia and Steve--Yeah, it's really flown--well, this last trimester has anyway. If the baby is a little late, I might actually have my basement finished before the little bambino arrives. :svengo:

Paul--Do I know you?? :sifone: It's about time you got your ass back here!! :)

Josh--I doubt it'll happen that soon..lol. There are no signs of baby coming soon. :)

Amy--Aren't you the lusty one? I'll remember the slap and tickle when your due date is close. :D

Cerella--Yup, I'm going out shopping tomorrow. :D

:waving:

Hi ya! Miss ya so much! :hug2:

Wow oh wow, March is here!!!!

I'm so excited for ya!

Don't FORGET the hospital bag in your panic to get to the hospital!

LOL...We did and you know my OCD...I wanted Dave to turn around and go back but he was scared to death I'd give birth in the new truck he had!!

Man, that was such a DRAG not having everything at the hospital.

Dave never had a chance to go back and get it bc at that time w/ins. they kicked me out before 24 hours!!!!

That should be illegal!

Love Ya! <3

Your baby should be receiving a gift from Albeebaby shortly :). I didn't see the item in your registry but this REALLY came in handy; lemme know if you already have this and we will do an exchange.

If you want, we have Angeline's fisher price aqua swing in its original box, just trying to figure out who to donate to. Should I ship it to your house? They love the swing while you're busy..this item was critical to our sanity.

I hope its a march 10th baby, those are when the cool ones are born :)

its been too long!!

I got an important date coming up too, my 21st birthday next week, im glad to see your doing well!

Trevor
