BikiniBound's Diary

A damn fine quality too!! Shame it's mostly on a wasted team... At least we always have our Lions!! 0 - 16... we are so close... I can taste it! We are the best (at being the worst).... we are the best(at being the worst) ... :D

Did they lose again yesterday? I forgot to check the score. :D

What's really a shame is that it's wasted on my husband who HATES football..lol. Lots of men would kill for a football loving wife like me. :sifone: I would understand the importance of watching THE game, and wouldn't say, "but I wanna watch a chick flick and cuddle up with you." Puhleese. I'd be yelling at the tv along with him. :D

Val--It's funny that my diary is taken up by a lot of sports talk..lol. I don't mind it. :)

Kim--Yeah, cracking the whip--I need to crack it on his friend who was supposed to come and work yesterday and today. He never came. Yesterday was b/c he bagged two does and had to process one last night and was going to do the 2nd today. Then come to our place around noon. Didn't happen, and we haven't been able to get in touch with him. So I'm pissed b/c I had these great plans of being moved in this weekend, and now I don't know what's going on. I just might hire someone to get the job done asap b/c I'm sick of waiting. :ack2:

Oh, and congrats on the Sooners BIG win over Tex Tech! I couldn't believe how they blew them out of the water. I watched the 2nd half of the game.

Woke up this morning and called my gran to tell her I'd be there in an hour to take her to her brother's memorial service. Then I opened the blinds and saw

SNOW!

About 3 inches of it and still coming down. The road was crap, so I knew I wouldn't make it there in an hour..lol.

The service was really good. His granddaughters spoke and reminisced about him, and two of his sons also spoke. Pregnant women should be banned from funerals...lol. I was a crying mess. Couldn't stop until it was over. I don't know how many kleenexes I went through. You'd of thought it was MY grandpa who died. Uncle Bob was an air force gunner in WWII and played baseball for Univ of Mich (until he joined the air force) and in the minor leagues briefly. He also did spring training with the Detroit Tigers once. He was one of the nicest, loving and honorable men around.

What a great generation!! The older I get, the more I read and see, the more respect I have for all those men and women!

Of course the Lions lost! They were up 17 to 0, then lost 32 to 20!!! :cuss:

It sounds like your uncle lived a very full life. JZ is right, that is a great generation. People think and act differently nowadays. It's more about "what's in it for me" rather than for the greater good.

There is no way I could live in the north, I hate snow. I love cold weather as long as it's dry out. No rain and definitely no snow!!

Have you ever read Tom Brokaw's "The Greatest Generation?" Really good book.

Yeah, I saw that in the paper (yesterday's). They had a big write up about how bad they suck..lol.

Amy--It really hasn't been that bad today. It was above 32F and no snow. We only have about 1" on the ground atm, so I think you'd survive. It was really pretty yesterday clinging to the tree branches.

Hey Twin, how's it going?? Got all the floors done now???? You think you'll be moving in this weekend??? What about the nursery? Do you have something special your doing for decoration? Or theme?

Hope all is well!

Are the floors done?  I currently have no bathroom there b/c they took out the toilet and sink in order to tile the floor. They are spending all day there tomorrow tiling, so they better get it done..lol. Then there is misc wood flooring that needs to be finished. If they can at least get the area where the stove goes done I can then move in.

Re the nursery, well, there isn't a room built yet, so....lol. After we get the first floor finished we'll tackle the basement and finish that off. I have no theme in mind yet, but it's gonna be bright and cheery. The paint is going to be apple green, so I'll get stuff to match. :D

Hey sorry to have been MIA.
Soooo much going on here and very little time if any at all to get on the 'puter. Love reading about how things are coming along at the Condo, especially since I can see it all in my head from when I visited.
Glad to hear that things are still chuggin' along for you guys.
Have a great Turkey Day!
Don't forget to "treat" Henry too! LOL

No bathroom? You poor girl. Hope the flooring gets finished today.

Love the idea for apple green walls. I hate the typical pastel colors that usually go up for nurseries. Bella's room is full of bold colors.

As for the snow, any snow is too much for me!!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

What a JOKE!!! I'm going to Ford Feild and wearing a paper bag on my head for every game next season!!! :puke: Glad I was tired from the turkey... no effort to scream at the TV!!

Hope you had/are having a great TG. :)

Hope all you Americans had a good Thanksgiving!! We had a great meal at my uncle's: turkey (of course), mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade cornbread stuffing (out of this world), corn, squash, sweet potatoes (the dish I made had bourbon in it), rolls, broccoli, cauliflower, coleslaw, baked beans and 5 kinds of pie (my chocolate pumpkin cheesecake was devoured). I went for a walk with my niece afterwards to burn off a few of those calories I'd consumed. :)

Cerella, Val and Amy--Glad you like the apple green idea. I bought the paint for the main floor bedroom, but after putting a coat on three of the walls, decided it clashed with the color the rest of the main floor is painted..lol. But it'll look good in the nursery. :)

The lack of bathroom isn't so bad b/c we are not living there..lol. Just makes it a bit hard to spend any length of time there. They are supposed to do the tiling tomorrow and the grout on Sunday. Then I'll have a bathroom again.

We bought appliances today. The stove and microwave I wanted had rebates totalling $250, plus I had a coupon for 10% off. :D So I got a really good deal. The fridge is not in stock so it'll be a few days before anything gets delivered--maybe in a week's time.

Got a guy coming out tomorrow a.m. to run a gas line for the stove and a water line for the dishwasher. Things are coming along.

Snow is not such a big deal. We have less than 1/2" on the ground, and in many places there is no snow at all. Once you get used to it, it's not a big deal anymore.

Bella--Henry got such a big treat yesterday that he still has half of it left two days later. :)

JZ--The Titans are a good team. I expected them to waste all over the Lowly Lions. I'm kinda surprised they haven't fired Marinelli yet. Was reading the paper the other day and they joked that the Lions need a federal bailout. :smilielol5: Basically the plan for the bailout was too fire all the managment, coaches, etc and keep one player--Calvin Johnson..lol. I think they should also keep Hanson, though. He is a pretty good kicker. What was up with that 13yrd punt at one point? :smilielol5: At least Michigan has a good punter--he gets lots of practice..:D

Aside from shopping for appliances at Lowes, we went to Kohl's and Target. Kohl's was a madhouse!! And we didn't even get there until almost noon. Got some good deals though. Target was much tamer, but I only got a few things there. We almost bought a bowflex today, but decided to wait until we do some further research.

My next midwife appt is on Tuesday, and our first childbirth class starts on Weds evening. Got a yoga mat today b/c the CB class info said to bring one. I'm now 5.5 months along.

Oh, I started a college bowl pick 'em on Yahoo. Here is the info if anyone wants to join--the more the merrier. :)

Hey mama, glad to see everything's going along well with the baby and the house. You sound REALLY busy. You're in my thoughts often, believe it or not, even though I haven't stopped through here in a while. I'm so excited for you! Will check in soon, C.

Great to see ya pop in Claudia! I was just thinking about you the day before, wondering how the hell you are. So...how the hell are ya? :D

Well, condo update is that the gas line is in, the bathroom is completely tiled and grouted and looks fab. The laundry room just needs to be grouted (tomorrow). Toilet will be back tomorrow. Depending on when Lowes delivers my stove, we might move in this weekend. They were supposed to call me Monday, and still haven't. So I'll give them a call this afternoon.

Had my midwife appt yesterday. It went fine. Baby's heart rate was in the 150s. It's always been above 140, so that means there's a good chance it's a girl. When I told H this he said he'd have to prepare himself. Yes, he wants a boy. But I know if it is a girl he'll adore her and she'll be daddy's little girl (just like I still am..lol).

I've kicked ass at the gym the last two days. I've already got 2hrs 10 min. Yet the scale is still pissing me off...lol I think I failed to drink enough water yesterday. So maybe that's why it's up again today. :cuss:

Wow girl, you're really holding that weight down. I gained a whole 100 lbs during my pregnancy! LOL

As far as H, I can tell you that my H really wanted to have a boy and wanted me to have one right after our girl. Well that aint happening haha. But honestly, as the baby has gotten older and he's grown so close to her and sees how much fun she is as an individual, I no longer hear anything about him wanting a boy. Not sure what's going on in his head as I refrain from bringing it up but he seems fulfilled with our girl. I assume this would be the case for your H too. Girls have the CUTEST clothing too and they are FAR easier to deal with when they are young. Boys are totally off the wall energetic and rough. And they talk much later, like little cavemen, bless their little hearts. Apparently girls get harder when they hit age 13..
